Is Taylor her knight in shining armor or is he the devil in disguise?
This book is intended for a mature adult 18 and over.
I’m a Mom to a wonderful son and a native of Dublin, Ireland. I come from a big family with five younger sisters and one younger brother (I know, the poor lad). I have worked as a barmaid for over ten years now and I love it. Working with the public, talking with them, and getting to know new people is what I love most. On a normal day I can usually be found with my nose in a book or chasing my son.

FROM AUTHOR: “…Nessa is a series but each book can be read as a standalone each girl is different most characters will be in every book with new ones but they have their own story. Nessa is going to be the first of four friends who each have had a pretty shitty start in life they grew up together know that they had it bad but don’t know details but they knew one day that each of them would have to face there past so they vowed to help each other.”
ARC provided to me by author M. Brennan in exchange for an honest review.
When I was approached to see if I would like to read and review this, I jumped at the chance. I was just finishing a book and I was told this is her first book and it goes live on the 30th of this month, so I read it straight away. I didn't realize how powerful, fast paced and captivating this book would be.
I had started reading it toward the latter part of the evening and when I went to bed, I picked it up again, trouble was, I couldn't put it down as it a real page turner. I did try to settle down to go to sleep, but the story had my mind racing. I wanted to see what happened next so couldn't relax.
I loved it that much I spoke to my book buddy Philomena on the phone about it, she has it to read, told her she is going to LOVE it.
I can't believe this is Maureen Brennan's first book. I know she said she read a lot, and maybe by that she realizes that we need fast paced, turn the pages, good plots with real characters.
For all the books I have read this year this one surely is unforgettable. I can't wait to read book 2.
This author has blown me away with her debut novel. I'm so looking forward to reading more from her.
Nessa is the main character. She's broken. She's got no family, no job and now no boyfriend. Thankfully she has some great friends who stand by her. When she meets billionaire Taylor there is mutual hate. However as the story continues we see that change. Both Nessa and Taylor don't believe in love. Their trust has been broken before. Can they move forward from their past and learn to love and trust?
There are some great twists and turns in this book that I wasn't expecting yet I loved. It took me on a great journey that I thoroughly enjoyed. I read this in a few hours and it was a few hours of pure bliss.
I'm still trying to figure out what I just read. Was it edited by a blind person? (No offence blind people!) There were so many spelling mistakes and the closet OCD girl inside of me was dying over the grammar. Who honestly speaks like that?
I guess I could of kind of admit that it somewhat had a good story and I was looking forward to it in the beginning. I was totally turned off the way Taylor approached Nessa. Ew, much? The book was in the present and then it fast forwarded like two months? Wth? The ending was just too soon and rushed.
I gave it two stars because it was kind of OK but of course the spelling held it it back from any extra.
This read really helps you understand that families don't have to be blood related, just have a strong bond. Still full of romance with a cool twist. A must read.
*********************NOTE FROM AUTHOR*************************
Nessa is a FAST-PACED adult romance story. It has elements of suspense and humor. I would also like to add there are cuss words used a lot too. In this series there might also be some touchy subjects that people might not like for example Nessa mother committed suicide so if your not into any of the above Nessa might not be for you. I hope that if you decide to give it a chance you can understand all of this and enjoy the story. I am a new author and I'm really enjoying hearing your feed back.
When i decided to make Nessa fast-paced it was because I love stories that have a lot going on and don't have me waiting till the end for the exciting part. Due to some feed back that I have had so far I have decided to add a novella on Taylor to let people get more a feel for Nessa and Taylor's relationship. This novella will also introduce us to Jess's story.
Thank you everyone who has took a chance on Nessa so far :)
This is a good story though some parts of seem a little rushed. Nessa is down on her luck, no boyfriend, no job, no money but she has an amazing group of friends. She meets Taylor and she is attracted to him but he is pretty horrible to her despite their intial meeting they start a relationship. Taylor has a secret, Nessa is struggling with her past can they get past everything to make a future or ar they better apart. I will read the next book but I hope that there is a little more depth and that aspects of the story are expanded on and not glossed over.
The storyline (the idea and characters) itself is quite good and that's why I gave it 3 stars. The major problem I have with this book is constant typos. It's really badly edited and there's words missing etc. it was driving me crazy. I have never highlighted that much in a book. It felt like it was written by a beginner (nothing wrong with that), and what I mean by that is that it does have a potential, but it's like a rough copy. I felt like there was something missing.
This was a really good story, though a little rushed at times. But the editing is awful! Besides the spelling and grammar errors, I am pretty sure Sally was first referred to as Sarah and Kim was referred to later as Emma. I found this annoying and it makes the book less credible.
