Saving Home: A Closed-Door Small-Town Romance

Rate this book
Harmony Crawford didn’t come to Iron Creek to stay.
She came to disappear.

Running from a powerful father and a family legacy she no longer wanted, Harmony planned to keep her head down, regroup, and move on. But Iron Creek has a way of offering more than refuge—especially when the people around you start to feel like home.

Trent Stone has built his life on staying put.

He protects his town, keeps his distance, and doesn’t get involved—until Harmony arrives with secrets she won’t explain and danger she refuses to acknowledge. Letting her face it alone was never an option. Falling for her was.

As the past Harmony tried to outrun starts closing in, the truth she carries threatens more than her future—it puts Iron Creek itself at risk. Trust is tested. Loyalties are strained. And sometimes saving what matters most means standing your ground instead of running.

Saving Home is a heartfelt, closed‑door small‑town romance about found family, quiet strength, and discovering that home isn’t just where you hide… it’s what you choose to protect.

Saving Home is the third book in the Up North Series. I've read all three books, and this one I like the best! Harmony is the younger sister of Melody, who was the female lead in book 2. After a falling out with her father, Harmony seeks refuge in her sister's new hometown. As the two can't live together without having a physical altercation, Harmony is dropped off with Trent, a local cop/resource officer. While unpacking Harmony learns information about the town and her father that prompts her and Melody to join forces, along with their Great Aunt to take their father down. Trent's protective nature comes out regarding Harmony, and he vows to protect her. This story has a happily ever after on many fronts. The group of friends also shows the reader that family is who you choose, not just by blood alone. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book was Wonderful! Trent and Harmony were so fun to watch fall. Trent and his grumpy, set in his ways, not going to fall, protective, loyal, rough, and masculine in all the right ways, self! He was a great MMC!! Loved him. He was the perfect person for Harmony. She was crazy smart, Independant, always believed that everything "was worth the fight", highly competitive, huge heart, addiction to romance novels, and had an unfailing moral compass. Their story was so great. I loved every bit of the snark, teasing from others, fighting, and romance. Oh, I have to mention the relationship with her sister, Melody also….so hilarious!!! I can't wait for you to read their epic battles! So Great!!!

This is the third book in the series that I have read. I really enjoyed the series so far and I think this book in particular really provided a good wrap up of dealing with the villainous father of the female main character, Harmony. While the male main character, Trent, was a stand up guy who wanted to protect her, he did have to atone for a big mistake. Harmony’s character seemed to waiver between being very mature in her dealing with the illegal activity of her father and very immature with her behavior, especially with the repeated verbal and physical sparring with her sister. Overall, it was definitely a good story worth reading.

Saving Home is Book 3 in the Up North Series by Ellie Peat. I am enjoying this series and Saving Home is excellent. I enjoy the way the author grows the romance. I like how the story shows that not all families are nice. Harmony is escaping a very controlling father. The characters felt very real and I loved Aunt Vivi. I hope that there are more books in this series because I am not ready to say goodbye. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.

“Saving Home” by Ellie Peat

-Harmony and Trent’s chemistry crackles in this heartfelt small-town romance. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Harmony is fiery and smart; Trent is gruff but loyal—together they heal, grow, and fall hard. Family tensions, found-family bonds, and sisterly chaos bring drama and depth.

A perfect blend of sass, steam, and sweetness in charming Iron Creek.

found family

It´s a sad truth that we can´t choose the families we are born into, so if you are lucky and find people that care about you, that you can rely on and make you feel at home, count your blessings. I struggled with the family drama but life simply isn´t only about sweet smelling roses and the love and friendship in Iron Creek more than made up for it.
