The trees are silent witnesses—rooted in truth, tangled in secrets, and they remember everything.
When Eden Wells takes a nursing job at Covington Manor, settled deep in the woods, she expects silence, routine, and distance from her painful past.
For the past five years, Victor Covington, the once-powerful head of the family, lies bedridden and silent, suffering from a rare neurological disease —until late one night, he whispers something to her that sends a chill down her spine.
His words are quiet, but they spark a growing what secrets are the Covingtons hiding, and why does this place feel like it’s built on lies?
Eden and fellow staff member Greta, along with others, begin to navigate the estate of Covington Manor, searching for hidden motives and dangerous truths buried deep.
Hidden tunnels, the abandoned third floor, which is off limits, and the old family cemetery, tucked deep within the woods.
What they discover, they were never prepared for.
Outside, the woods press against the house, thick and watchful—as if they, too, are keeping the family’s dark history.
Because in a place like this, nothing stays hidden forever.
this book surprised me. i got this for free on my kindle and sometimes im iffy about free books…. they’re usually indie authors, which i have no issue with some are literally the BEST and some are just eh.
BUT THIS ONE … do not judge this book like this cover …. it’s very simplistic , but gorgeous in my opinion. i loved the fall leaves and the GORGEOUS mansion.
eden is a nurse that took a job to take care of a rich old man, who we think is basically an invalid , when suddenly he whispers a single sentence and the whole book blows up !
i throughly enjoyed this book. it was a WELL crafted , immersive thriller that had sooooo many secrets and chills!!!
the atmosphere was creepy and had the hairs on the back of my neck sticking up for most of the book.
if you have a kindle find this book ASAP (if it’s still available)

Listen—when a rich, creepy family hires you to take care of their silent, possibly spooky patriarch in a giant manor surrounded by sinister woods… maybe don’t take that job. But Eden Wells does, and THANK YOU, MA’AM, because this book is juicy!
What starts as a quiet nursing gig turns into a full-blown gothic mystery buffet: secret tunnels? Check. Whispering old man? Check. Forbidden floors? Creepy woods that know things? Check, check, and CHECK. The pacing grabs you by the collar from chapter one and never lets go. Sabrina Wade’s writing is lush and eerie with that “just one more chapter at midnight” energy. Eden is a tough, relatable heroine with trauma to unpack and courage to spare, and the supporting cast (shoutout to ride-or-die Greta) is just chef’s kiss.
You’ll gasp. You’ll guess wrong. You’ll never look at trees the same way again.
Eden Wells takes a job as nurse to the old patriarch, Victor Covington. But things are really strange when Eden hears weird tapping on the ceiling from the third floor, Nobody is allowed on the third floor or the feeling she is constantly being watched. Something is not right here, especially she can't help but feel that something is wrong. Many of the staff are too quiet in a sinister way and then Eden's Vincent talks for the first time in a long time. When he was coming out of his nearly vegetable state, he grabs Eden's arm whispering "They buried the wrong body" What in the world does that mean? It is obvious to Eden that she can't trust anyone there except her girlfriend, Greta. So she and Greta feel they have to figure all the strange things out. Even the woods holds secrets with graves found deep in the woods. This book has so many twists and turns and thrilling things happening, you are kept on the edge of your seat turning page after page until the amazing ending! I was hooked from the beginning and couldn't put the book down! If you like well written thrillers that grab you and hold you until the end, this is the book for you! I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
THE WOODS KNOW EVERYTHING is a standalone thriller by Sabrina Wade. I've read three books by Ms Wade and enjoyed the character development and world building in all three. You'll find family drama, secrets, betrayal and nail-biting situations, and suspense. There are so many unexpected plot twists that keep you turning the pages.
Eden grew up in a mansion as the daughter of staff. Beau, the owner's son, was her only and best friend. Life was great until it wasn't.
Now she's in another mansion caring for the ailing owner. This is not a happy place. She's made a couple of friends, but they all feel an oppressive air about everything. There is no laughter, people pass without speaking, and there are so many rules. Then there are the whispers about the third floor with no access, secret passages, and even secret burials. I highly recommend getting a copy for yourself. I received this book as a member of the ARC team, and the above is my honest review.
The Woods Know Everything is one of those stories that completely surprised me. If I had judged this book by its cover, I might have skipped it, but I’m so glad I didn’t. What looks quiet on the outside turns out to be a richly written thriller that plays like a movie in your head as you read.
Eden Wells, a nurse seeking peace from her past, takes a position at Covington Manor, an isolated estate deep in the woods. What begins as a routine job spirals into a chilling mystery when her silent bedridden patient whispers something that changes everything. From hidden tunnels to an abandoned third floor to a family cemetery tucked away in the forest, Wade builds atmosphere and suspense with every page. The characters feel real, the setting is vivid, and the tension holds steady all the way through.
Thoroughly enjoyable, The Woods Know Everything is a well crafted, immersive thriller that delivers secrets, atmosphere, and chills in all the right places.
I absolutely loved this book! Sabrina Wade kills it in her longest book to date. The characters are charming and charismatic, you will connect with them as if they’re your close friends.
Eden Wells is down on her luck and needs another job. She applies to work as a private duty nurse for the prominent Covington family. She begins to have unusual interactions with her patient, Victor Covington. Working in this peculiar environment, with this strange family, Eden is about to experience just how bizarre things can get.
I would be elated if I could read books like this everyday! Wade is my kind of author, and I need more books from her immediately! I’m definitely a lifelong fan now!
Sabrina Wade comes through with another exceptionally chilling tale!
This time, we’re with Eden Wells, a nurse just hired to care for the sick patriarch of the Covington family. However, Eden soon discovers that not everything is as it seems at Covington Manor and there are secrets upon secrets, all hinging upon one person. I really do enjoy reading anything by Sabrina Wade, and this story is no exception to that. The way she builds up the fear and terror and ever so slowly releases a bit of the plot at a time keeps my interest held. Sabrina Wade is a talented author of the thriller genre and I highly recommend her work!

Eden is hired as a private nurse to talk care of the head of the secretive elusive wealthy Covington family. However once Eden is at the estate she can't help but feel that something is wrong. So many of the staff are too quiet and then Eden's patient talks for the first time in forever out of the blue. Vincent, coming out of his nearly vegetable state, grabs Eden's arm whispering "They buried the wrong body". No Eden has no idea what this is about or who she can trust besides her friend Greta. But Eden along with Greta's help has to figure out what is going on at the Covington estate. This is a fast paced story with a ton of twists and turns including the final one. Fantastic book.

Eden has been given a job opportunity to start a fresh at Covington Manor as the nurse for old Victor Covington. When she arrives, she is in awe of the house and grounds, but there is a strange feeling she gets walking the halls. Like being watched perhaps?
The longer she stays there the more stranger things become and she knows there are secrets buried there. So why can’t she shake the feeling that she must get to the bottom of this mystery.
This book kept me guessing the whole time. A page turner right to the end! Great read!
I read this book voluntarily for an honest review.
This book will give you chills over and over. I felt like I was watching a movie. I got so involved in the story I didn't want to put it down. I will tell you its a long book but you won't realize it because this is so hard to put down you'll probably stay up late. I did and sure wasn't disappointed a bit. You won't any distractions because you don't want to put it down. Lock your doors and just enjoy. This is, in my opinion her best one yet. Don't miss out and enjoy it and tell your friends. They won't be disappointed either and you can talk it over later with them. I read a lot of books but this is at the top of my list.🤓
Eden Wells lands a job as a private care nurse for a wealthy, bedridden invalid. She starts hearing weird tapping on the ceiling from the third floor, Nobody is allowed on the third floor. She learns of hidden passages in the old manner, along with rumors of strange happenings during the last five years. When her patient starts talking to her intermittently, she becomes embroiled in a race that could mean the end of her life.
Developed characters, good storyline, some humor and some intrigue.
OH WOW this book was so intense and a thriller of mystery and page turner with twists. I was on the verge of my seat and I couldn’t even put it down literally. This story is going to keep the suspense for running out of control and with the danger and anxiety with a hot of chaos. Will the truth comes out in the woods for this detective Eden Wells. Will the person be caught in time in this moment. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be honest I first wanted to read this book because I saw I had the same first name as the author and the book sounded entertaining. Boy I’m glad I did! A creepy atmosphere and a wealthy family with so many secrets! I loved the characters that decided to try and unravel the mysteries and secrets hidden in this house. They grew on me very quickly, I loved the touch of humor they added to the scary situation they found themselves in. Add a touch of romance and it was a great thriller, I highly recommend it! I need to check out some more of Sabrina’s books!
I received this book as an ARC. This is my first Sabrina Wade book so I didn't know what to expect. I loved it! I am an avid reader of psychological thrillers (that's my jam!) and this one will make my Julia's Fave List of 2025. The story flowed and things happened at a quick pace. There were many twists, almost all of which I didn't guess; and I am a good guesser! I would truly reccommend this book to others. I will absolutely be checking out Wade's other novels.
Immediately I had the sense something was fishy with the set up of Eden's new job and I couldn't flip the pages fast enough to get to the bottom of the truth and it blew my mind. Ms.Wade sure can throw a curve ball when it comes down to her twists in her story that's one reason why I've read all her books also cause every time I think I have it all figured out I'm completely off base and I'm intrigued at the ending.
This suspenseful story kept me turning the pages. Eden Wells is a nurse who is need of a job. She is hired to care for Victor Covington, who is comatose. When he suddenly whispers something to her, things start to unwind. She and her friend, Greta , investigate the mysteries surrounding the mansion. The fear is palpable throughout. I would recommend it. I received a free copy of this book via Book Sirens and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
this book was real good i read it in two days all the different characters and how they interact was awesome only thing i wish the person that got switched with someone else (no names you have to read it) I wish that didn't happen I think they earned to the end of the book.

Eden takes a job at the Covington manor as a nurse to Victor Covington, the patriarch of the family. Little does she know how it will change her life. So many secrets are hidden beneath the surface in the manor. Who can she really trust? I loved the book! You'll be keep guessing until the very end.
Another OUTSTANDING book from Sabrina Wade! Wow! Where to begin with this one? I almost dropped my Kindle at 56% and then again at 90%. Talk about a shocker!!! Definitely recommend this one to EVERYONE! You won't be disappointed! Thank you again, Sabrina Wade, for the opportunity to read this ARC.
Friends both new and old. A mansion with tension inside and many secrets - people and building. What to believe and what to suspect. A sick patriarch - or is he? - a hidden cemetery and its secrets. One suspect after another and one mystery after another. A good mystery and more than one puzzle to solve.
Eden Wells goes to the Covington Mansion as a nurse and is in the midst of a dangerous situation. An intriguing read full of suspense with a nail-biting finish to it. I received this ARC copy via Booksprouts and recommend this book to other readers .
Personally, for me the story didn't have a real good 'flow' to it, but that could just be me. The story itself was very good. Growing up in a small town, I understood the political ways of how somethings are done and how some people think. A good story. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
My first book by Sabrina Wade and I highly recommend it ! Mystery, edge of your seat situations . It's clean and has wonderful characters. There are twists ,turns and love .
This book was long, but it kept me engaged.i read most of it yesterday, and the rest today. It was hard to put down. I would definitely recommend this book. I will also read the author's other books.
Greta is curious as to what is happening at her place of employment and what she finds is mind blowing. A tale of twist, turns and surprises. This was a first for me by Sabrina Wade but definitely not my last. Happy reading!
