The one alpha I trusted. The one I was going to run away with. The man I built my entire future around.
Azarel is the crown prince of Surhiira, and he never told me.
Now I'm hiding underground with alphas who should terrify me. Nikolai, whose silver gaze tracks me like I'm already his. Geo, who hands me a gun and tells me to shoot something to get it out of my system. Raven, who looks at me like I'm worth worshipping. And the Knight, my beautiful scarred monster, the only alpha who has never once lied to me.
Azarel is tearing through the wasteland searching for me.
Part of me wants him to find me.
Part of me wants to disappear.
And part of me—the part I don't talk about, the part that goes foggy and hollow when everything becomes too much—feels like it's starting to crack.
The porcelain shattered a long time ago.
But what breaks next might not piece back together.

Scarred Alphas is the fifth book in the Ghost Alpha Unit series and the second book in Cosima's trilogy. The Ghost Alpha Unit series is a dark RH Omegaverse set in a war-torn dystopian society. Please see the author's website for details on content and themes. The sixth and final book, Apex Pack, will be released in Q3/Q4 2026.
Lenore Rosewood is an Omegaverse and Reverse Harem Romance author who watched Beauty and the Beast too young and it ruined her brain. After a lifetime of being let down by "scarred" heroes with one decorative nick on an otherwise perfect jawline, she snapped and started writing her own fics, and it all spiraled from there.
Lenore lives a hermit's life in a foggy cottage in coastal Ireland, making her partner go out on all their errands so she can hide inside and avoid her neighbors (who have theories) while writing stories for women who feel safer with the secretly-cinnamon-roll monster than without.
Nunca me entereee, ahora necesito leerlo. Y saber que va a salir el libro de Cosima y su pack, muerooo.
...
I love that trope at the end (I won't say it because it's a spoiler, but if you've read it you'll know what I'm talking about).
It's 4 stars for me because she didn't do anything with Knight in this book and she didn't even give Geo a kiss 😞 Anyway, now I'm mad at Geo, so he doesn't deserve it anymore. In the end, Azarel wasn't as bad as I thought, so he was forgiven by me.
The fight between Ivy and Cosima LMAO they're both so feral. And Wraith not wanting to fight Knight 😭❤️🩹 I love him, he saw someone like himself and wanted to be his friend.
Also, WTH with the dream she had at the end? She saw the past Knight, I loved it. I want many more scenes like that.
I NEED the third one already, and know what happens next. I read 3 paragraphs of chapter 6 of the next book on Patreon because I don't have $5 up my sleeve, but it looks good.
Also, what the heck did the author write a hockey fanfic about her characters??? I never knew, now I need to read it. And knowing that Cosima's book and her pack are coming out, I'm in!
Not going to lie… Plague pissed me tf off in this one. 🤣
As per usual - loved this so much. Lenore Rosewood has such a way of depicting characters who are mute in such a way that you feel & understand everything that they’re experiencing. I feet like that’s no easy feat to master!
This one felt like an entire journey; just one omega with her pack behind her, seeking answers and a bit of revenge on the side lol.
I absolutely love Cosima - everything about her really. The fact that she’s such a complex character, with such a strong-willed personality but also a tenderness and vulnerability to her at times… I actually think each character in this (Knight, Geo, Raven, Nikolai & even Azarel) all stood out to me.
Also helps that the spice was spicin’, even though there were only a few scenes of it in this one hehe 🤭
I can’t wait for things to heat up even more in the following book, and for Cosima to get some resolution & peace!
Also just want to mention: I just want to scoop Knight up and hold him. Poor guy needs a long ass hug… Those last few chapters…my heart just broke completely for him…
Some of my other fav quotes: ‼️⚠️POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW! ⚠️‼️ “She starts checking out one of the paintings depicting an overly muscled god with horns and leathery wings lounging on a stone throne. Guess she’s a monsterfucker through and through.” (Dead 😂)“‘Gimme back my fuckin’ husband, you assholes!’”“I am Azarel Dovar Srayen, second prince of the house of the Ibis, disgraced son of Queen Amaya, disgraced second heir to the throne.” He pauses, meeting my eyes. “And completely, utterly, irrevocably yours.” (Swoon) “If I have to be the villain of her story, so be it. As long as she’s alive to finish it.”
One aspect that truly sets this author apart is her remarkable skill in writing non-verbal characters. Even without the ability to articulate their feelings, Wraith and Knight emerge as the standout figures in this series. Knight's chapters are crafted with such emotional depth that it feels like we’re diving into an entirely different narrative—one that transcends the dystopian and RH genres.
The other MCs are equally compelling. Geo’s gruff protectiveness is endearing, while Raven's razor-sharp humour shines through at the most unexpected moments. Their playful banter, especially with Nikolai, adds an irresistible dynamic. Cosima stands out as the perfect FMC; despite her traumatic past, she embodies strength, determination, and decisiveness, while also exuding a gentle warmth toward her mates. Her viciousness and unhinged behaviour also made me laugh multiple times.
The appearance of the Ghost Alpha Unit and the chaotic brawl that follows are nothing short of exhilarating. That cliffhanger is genuinely heartbreaking, leaving me eager to see how the myriad of unresolved threads will weave together in book 3.
Omg I’m not sure how to process how happy this book made me. Violent. Unhinged. Funny. Things go (literally) off the rails in all the best ways. Cosima won my heart in this book. Brave, tough, tender and crazy. Geo is a fallout-esque alpha daddy that you didn’t know you needed. Azarel- still to be redeemed. Niko is hot, edgy and utterly devoted. Knight is a monster bbg whom I will love forever. And Raven! Star of the show in my eyes. It’s so hard to find a decent murder twink these days, but Raven delivers and I am HERE for it. If anyone needs me I’ll be crying in a corner waiting for the next book.
I love Cosima and her Alphas and the whole dynamic of their relationship and the cliffhanger was great and I can’t wait to read the next book. The only reason this isn't 5stars is because it was a really long book for very little excitement. And it seemed like the build up to the Pack finding Azarel for answers fell flat when they reunited and we got more questions than answers and now have to wait for the 3rd book

YOU'RE MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!! Please read and pay close attention to the trigger warnings at the beginning of this book. There is some content and scenes in this book that are not suitable for all readers and could be triggering for others. Always remember that your mental health comes first at all times.
Scarred Alpha is the 5th book in the Ghost Alpha Unit by Lenore Rosewood. This is also the 2nd book in Cosima’s trilogy.
I love Cosima, her character was written perfectly. And her bond with Knight, I don’t think I have to explain that, when you read this book, you’ll understand it yourself.
What I really loved and appreciated was that Lenore ensured that Cosima, Knight, Nikolai, Geo, Raven, and even Azarel have their own personalities and you can distinguish each one of them by more than just the nickname Knight, Nikolai, Geo, Raven give to Cosima.
I really appreciate that Lenore took her time in creating this world. She has created this epic post-apocalyptic world with its own utopia. And it’s expansive and unique and like no other world that we have truly seen and Lenore has created something that is truly her own.
Of course, Lenore filled out our cast of characters with previous characters outside of Cosima’s pack and we know that Lenore couldn’t leave them out.
I love the Lenore gave us all the laughter, tears, action/excitement, fear that we could have asked for in this book and it’s honestly so good, just like the previous 4 books were and I can honestly say that I am addicted to this series and to Lenore’s writing.
I do have to say that this book ends on one nasty cliffhanger and this one is so harsh that I swear, this kind of cliffhanger should not be allowed and it should be illegal and there should be serious punishments for this kind of cliffy.
All that said, I still highly recommend this book and this entire series. I do say you need to read this entire series starting with book 1 in order to understand the characters and the events from the previous books.
DNF 50%- One of the many issues I have with this book is that the writer very obviously does not know how to power scale her characters. I get that she wants her FMC to be with the biggest, baddest guys around, but the author is asking you to suspend your disbelief on multiple levels, and it's just not working for me. Let me give you an example.
Raven, for most of his life, lived in a brothel and was a whore with ostensibly no actual combat training. Plague was a prince born to fight and trained to fight for most of his life to be like his brothers in the military defending Suihara. When that didn't pan out, he went to train and fight amongst the SPECIAL OP TEAM, the ghosts. (Are we seeing what I am saying without me having to spell it out?) All that being said, you expect ME to believe that this random twink from bum-fuck nowhere, with no known reputation for fighting or combat, can go hand-to-hand with one of the most feared, well-trained SPECIAL OPS AGENTS in this universe because he, **checks notes**, learned to fight on the "streets."
....girl.
ANYWAYS. I wouldn't hate their reverence towards the MC if she did ANYTHING. It would be hard to do, considering nothing really happens in this installation, but at least give it the old college try. I think she had been called "fierce" more times than there had been actual fights in this book. Most of their compliments had little to nothing to do with her as an individual and more to do with this weird russian fetish thing happening in this book. Take out her being a russian baddie with a bust down to her booty crack, and wtf is she? "She smells like moonlight," and that's it. Her whole persona reads like a white guy's fantasy of FINALLY having a russian girlfriend.
Last major point, because there are endless minor points to talk about, the plan to kidnap Plague to get information about Azrael, or whatever his name is, was such an obvious ploy to force past book characters to reappear. There was no logic to the decision, and for an ISOLATIONIST COUNTRY THAT KEPT THE WORLD OUT FOR MOST OF ITS EXISTANCE, there was a shocking lack of security. If you can't naturally write a conflict between these groups of characters, here's a tip! Don't! Write a bonus story, a sweet moment at the end, literally anything but forcing plot-irrelevant events to happen.
While book one took me a hot minute to get into…this one was a lot easier. A absolutely adore the characters and I’m so happy with the pack structure.
This is poly romance - MM my fave!!
Cosima
"What is it that makes alphas such unrepentant, lying, cretinous bastards?"
Nikolai
"Alright, whose perverted dream are we in?"
Geo
…and clearly, it falls to me to make sure we all get out of this alive.
Knight
no one owns moonlight. can't capture it. can't hold it. can only bask in it.
Raven
"We're pack now, ... All of us."
Azarel
She may be an omega, but she's more resourceful than any alpha I've known. Strong. Brave. Fierce. A survivor, through and through.
This was a wild ride that’s for sure.
The ending is one hell of a cliffhanger… I have so many questions. Is the ‘thing’ done now? Did it do what it was meant to do and now it’s inactive or will it keep getting worse? Do the group stay together? Are they done for? Are they torn apart?
It’s all too much!!
I do hope that the cliffhanger issue is sorted out quickly. And we all know which character has to die painfully don’t we…
What a great and stressful addition to the storyline. Cannot wait for part three.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I just never imagined murder could be… affectionate. These alphas are going to be the death of me or my sanity. I’m not sure which.
This series is everything to me. I love it so much. I have reread every book in the series. It just scratches every single itch in my brain just right. The characters are so unhinged and complex. I love them all in different ways and for different reasons. I’ve gasped, cackled out loud, and blushed. It’s what I love about dark romance mixed with everything wonderful in omegaverse. •Cosima’s character is killing me. Her story just gets more upsetting and compelling. •Knight is everything. I would die for him. No notes on his character. None. He’s perfect. •Raven my sweet boy…I wanna hug him and hang out with him. Maybe get him into some counseling. He needs it with two of these dumb alphas in this pack. •I need Geo to get it together about both of his people before I smack him so hard his other eye pops out. •Nikolai…oh sir. He is finally learning. He’s getting it. Just so slowly. Poor baby. He better be glad I love his annoying hardheaded self. •Azarel. Stop💥being💥a💥turd💥. Before I tell Knight I found him a snack to eat.
The book was out-freaking-standing!!! Cosima and her ragtag group of Alphas are on the search for Azarel. While he is on the search for her! Raven is Cosima’s devoted love slave! Nicolai tries to fight his way into Cosima’s good graces, Geo tries to figure out where he fits into this whole mess. The Knight is the steady shining moon in the sky!
Scarred Alphas had everything I love to read! Emotions that take you on twisted roller coaster ride, betrayal, love, lies, tension and pain. Good amount of steam, but the storyline was up front throughout.
That cliffy was a doozy. Took me right to the edge and then hurtled me off with a trebuchet! I feel the wounds won’t heal until I get book 3! Please Lenore Rosewood…for the sake of my open, festering trauma…release book 3 soon!! 🙏🏻🤕🩻🙏🏻
This is such an excellent read. It has dark humour, great banter and a brilliant plot. I love the Alpha’s in this story. Knight is an adorable, giant marshmallow to Cosima. I feel for Knight, because all he wants is peace and quiet and he never gets it! Whilst people think Knight is the scary one, the most dangerous Alpha is Raven as no-one sees him before he strikes. I love his bickering with Nikolai and Geo. There is so much unresolved tension between these three. Cosima is back a het psychotic best and manages to drag her alphas’s with her into tricky situations.. Finally get to know the real Azarel and why he has been keeping Cosima at arms length. There are still so many webs to untangle and secrets to discover. This plot is no where near its end and it keeps getting better and better. 5 stars!
Cosima might not be my favorite heroine, but that ending completely won me over. There’s nothing inherently wrong with her, we just don’t quite vibe, and that’s okay! I still very much enjoyed this book, and honestly, the whole series continues to smash it.
The story did slow down a bit for me around the 60% mark, but toward the end it really picked up and completely changed my mind again. Now I’m mostly looking forward to seeing Azarel fit in more with the group, some more wink-wink action with Geo, and most of all Knight finally finding some peace in the final book. This baby deserves everything.
This book left me completely wrung out. The highs the lows too many to count… it’s amazing! Our merry band of misfits decides to help their Omega find Azarel. The lying Alpha that broke her heart. They come up with a plan that backfires spectacularly but brings them full circle to Suhiira. Home of Plague and the ghosts. Brother to Azarel. Cosima has had such heartache for her whole life, first her father and then her horrible husband. Being with her Alphas brings her peace and she finds herself without fear from her father but with so many unanswered questions. Then Azarel comes and with him the answers she needs but he refuses to give them. He can’t, her life is at stake. She’s desperate to know what is happening to her but it’s nearly her undoing. Can her Alphas be enough to bring her back from the edge and what will the price of that be? This ended on a hellacious cliffhanger and I’m dying to know what happens next! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I'm so obsessed with this series and the characters. The way Lenore Rosewood makes each character so unique and can juggle each individual weaving them into the story perfectly balancing the dynamic between the pack is just a chef's kiss.
Knight continues to be my favorite, just the way that the seemingly most monstrous of all the alphas is the most tender with his omega slays me every time. Cosima is as BA as ever never and dull moment with her unhinged attitude.
This dystopian omegaverse is simply so well written and entertaining. Each action scene is described in a way that is incredibly fun to envision.
I am once again eagerly anticipating book 3 while I hang off this cliff.
Cosima’s plans have changed, once she learns about her alpha. He’s a god blessed royal prince. He’s a royal prince and he said nothing to her about being one. None of these characters know much about each other. Is she going to find him and demand answers or not waste the energy and shoot the blessed ba&t@rd once she finds him. Azarel is searching for her and has not caught up to her yet. As the war rages on an omega finds a protector, he is her knight in not so shiny armor. Can these people come together as a pack? Can they change the tide of the war? You have to read it to find out.
I was so excited about this book since I had read book 4 last year. (Unhinged Omega) it wasn’t left on a cliffhanger but you knew the story continues into this book. I didn’t realize we were going to end on a cliffhanger on this one!! I absolutely recommend reading this series as it’s sooo good. This keeps following Cosima as now she’s looking for Azarel. She feels betrayed because he never told her he was the crown prince. I was so happy to see her starting to rebuild trust with the guys and letting them all in since the last book was more of her with Knight only. The spice was wonderful in this book! Now I just have to wait forever for her to (hopefully) get her HEA.
Book 5 in the Ghost Alpha Unit does not disappoint. These ragtag group of outlaw alphas that become completely entranced with an omega way above their statuses. They will do anything she asks even push aside their complete hatred for each other. All to help her get closure from her confusing and complicated relationship with another Alpha she's been in love with for years. It's so well written and you genuinely get to know each character and how Cosima brings out a different side to them despite their efforts to remain untouched. It ends on a cliff hanger but I look forward to the continuation.
First of all that reviewer leaving one star reviews on book 5 because of undisclosed MM in a series where EVERY SINGLE BOOK BEFORE IT HAD MM is clearly a rage baiting homophobe and needs to touch grass.
I loved this book, by far my favourite in the entire series so far. I’m so invested in all of the characters, they are so vivid and unique. Cosima is wonderful as well, it’s so easy for omegas to be written as ‘feisty’ and they’re really not. She’s assertive and smart, I love her. This author has definitely become an auto read author for me.
Morally grey alpha mates. Strap in for a dystopian adventure across wastelands. This second book takes right up from where the first book left us hanging. Strong alphas wrapped around their omega’s little pinkie as it slowly dawns on them all that they are a pack, liking the other alphas is not even necessary. I loved the clash of the ‘old’ Ghost Alpha unity & this ‘new’ one. I didn’t know who to cheer for! This does end on a cliff-hanger as well. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Idk if I’ll survive this cliffhanger. When towards the end of the book happened and perfect, sweet, angel baby Knight heard that noise from her (trying my best to be vague here) after the whole metal thing happened my heart shattered. Ugh, can I fast forward to “02/03 release date”!?
All dramatic emotions aside, this series is fantastic. The way I can picture the events in my head like a movie, even hearing their languages, and the ability to show such depth in silent characters is something else.
I think I have a new favourite omegaverse. I thought the first Ghost Squad was fantastic; this one, so far, is even better.
I can't pick a favourite character, I'm torn between Raven and Knight, both amazing characters that drew me in from the start.
This has it all, heats and knots, MM experiments, heartbreak, loss and one omega who might very well be my favourite so far. Do check the trigger warnings. Beautifully written, with a world that is beautifully constructed. I need the next book, now!
i love this series so much. this book is full of twist, humor, and true slow/medium burn. I love our FMC and her males. I don’t have a favorite, it changes every chapter but Knight holds a special place in my heart. There was only a little more spice here than book 1 but it was still great. I love the bickering between everyone and the building of a pack despite once hating each other. i really recommend this book!! There is a cliff hanger at the end though.I can’t wait for the next book
I loved it! It was the perfect addition to the first book! I wouldn't change anything or wish it went any differently!
The characters are so impressionable. They will leave you wanting more a while trying to anticipate their next move. Personalities crash for sure but it's all just fun and games in this world of love and war. It's super spicy and steamy, especially with this growing bunch of independent, fierce, and wanting rogues.
You will love this. I highly recommend this series!
Great story. Cosima is in the underground with Knight, Raven, Nickolai and Geo when she discovers that Azarel didn't tell her that he was one of the princes of Surhiira. She decides that she must go there and recognizes that the men are going to follow as they are her mates. What follows is full of danger, drama, emotions, and ends with a cliff-hanger. I look forward to the next book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
They've endured so much, the ending of this book is simply brutal. Thankfully, there's a sequel, otherwise I would have thrown the book out the window in frustration.
What a story, phew! I enjoyed reading it so much. The characters are fantastically written.
The story is dark, suspenseful, and the humor is great.
I wanted this book to be for me, but I feel it needs a particular state of mind in which you want to read about a heroine who is perfect and gets complimented on existing by her whipped pack.
I am giving this book five stars because I know there will be a time in my life when I will need to indulge in such utter fantasy.
Did I miss something, or was this book billed as the last book in the ghost Alpha series? Now, I find out that just means the last book for now… Honestly, kind of disappointed it didn’t end. I’m living for this HEA and now I have to be devastated on Knight’s behalf for months until the next book comes out….
A very solid instalment, more plot-heavy than the previous ones. It is smartly used to develop characters in the thoughtful and complex way that is Lenore Rosewood's strong suit. The ending felt slightly rushed but it obviously a set up for the next instalment.
