Smart-mouthed, insecure Alice Wunderlund likes to hide in the shadows. So being a Private Investigator is the perfect job for her. But when Allie is assigned to observe and record the daily activities of a British aristocrat, she starts to feel more like her namesake than is healthy. And when a gorgeous, lethal, hunk of an Irishman appears in her room, takes one look at her and bites her neck, she knows ‘Eat Me’ has just been taken to a whole new level.
Connor O’Brien is an ex-cage fighter turned Scorpio Son, one of an elite genetically engineered band of cloned warriors fighting to save the planet from secret invaders. When his brother Cam reports being watched, Connor goes to investigate, only to find more than he bargained for: A mate who turns him from an easy-going player into a moody, one-woman-man in an instant.
But Allie isn’t looking for a mate, certainly not one who turns cat when aroused. So she gives him an ultimatum he can't possibly agree to: share her in a threesome or not have her at all. For Connor, who doesn’t share, ever, this is just the first of many challenges he must overcome on his path to claiming the beautiful PI whom scientists had created just for him.

Nhys Glover is an Australian born award-winning author of over 75 romance novels. She is known for blending heart, heat, and a touch of the extraordinary in her stories. From time-traveling lovers to soul-deep polyamory connections, her work explores love in all its transformational forms.
Now living in Durham County UK, Nhys draws on her background in teaching and spiritual inquiry for inspiration in her writing. As she sits at her desk, staring out at the windy moors, she often reflects on what it means to stay human in an increasingly digital world. It is, after all, the subject of her newest book, a non-fiction called Authenticity, as Taught by a Machine.
But no matter the genre, Nhys is always chasing one thing: the truth at the heart of every story.

Have you ever read a book when at the end your like "how do people come up with this stuff?" Well that's how I felt at the end of this book. Wow that was a weird read. This is a totally new (at least to me) concept on shifters. You have aliens, alien DNA , aliens creating super soilders/shifter that end up going against the alien/humans because they're like locusts going from planet to planet eating the resources destroying the planet then moving on to the next (sound familiar? Think Independence Day with a twist) throw in shifters finding their mates and its one wild ride. In my opinion this author tried to create such a new concept in shifter romance that she went to far out of the box, again at least for me. This was a free book, but sadly to me it was to odd a book to buy the next one. No cliffhanger and HEA with main two characters so bonus.

Colt was a good start to the series. Though unpolished and riddled with errors, I enjoyed the writing, characters and plot.

In Connor, his mate is perfect for him. Allie is as quick with a jibe as he is and meets his charm with her own brand. We get more of the overall plot and the author shares some of the protagonists’ view which is helpful in driving the threat home.

However, what is spoiling the books for me are the many, many errors. Either the author has no editor or she’s not making use of beta readers. If you are self-publishing, these are invaluable! I stopped reading to write this after she called Colt Connor in the action during the healing scene. These errors spoil a story for me; I can’t un-see them and it throws off the flow.

That said, they are worth a read. Not worth a second read though.

Scorpio Sons 2...

The harder they resist the harder they fall in love. This book was funny and sexy. A great series to start with so far. Great characters.

When I met Connor in Scorpio Sons 1, I really went for his Irish charm. And after reading the excerpt at the end of that book I was also very curious about Alice, his lady-to-be.

I like how the heroine was introduced and I loved the way she first met the hero. They are fantastic together. The chemistry between them is there right from the start, there's no mistaking it. They are fun and sharp and always seem to have something witty to say. But they're also flawed, which makes them real to me. They are simply a delight to watch. (Did I mention I love that he's Irish? It's wonderfully portrayed here)

The pace is good, we get to see the characters grow and the world evolve (though the book is a stand-alone, we still get the feeling of learning more about their world - and ours).

A good addition to the series. It left me looking forward for the next installment.

I downloaded Scorpio Sons: Connor as a free book from Amazon. This was a fast read, but the writer seemed to cram too much into a novella. May have been better as a full length novel so the reader had a chance to get to know and like the characters.
