Twelve-year-old Marie Lane is ready for the most epic summer ever—no parents, no phones, and no rules (except for the terrifying clipboard-wielding counselor enforcing them). But when bunk bed brawls, surprise raccoons, glitter catastrophes, and a rogue marshmallow threaten to derail the fun, Marie realizes that chaos might just be part of the charm.
At Camp Willowglade, every mess becomes a memory—from duct-tape disasters and spontaneous midnight adventures to talent show meltdowns and a storm that turns the craft shed into a duck rescue mission. But even as friendships form and rivalries sizzle, Marie discovers that the wildest moments often make the best stories.
Full of laugh-out-loud hijinks, heartwarming twists, and one unforgettable summer, The Summer Camp Chaos is a glitter-splattered, marshmallow-roasted celebration of friendship, self-discovery, and finding home where you least expect it.

A sweet, fun read about Marie, a 12-year old heading back for her third summer of fun and chaos at Camp Willowglade! Each chapter is a new story making the whole book very approachable for young readers who may not have the longest attention span. Because of the format, time between reading chapters will not make a big difference; you don’t need to necessarily remember details of the previous chapters to enjoy the next one.
I received an advance reader copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily!
Each story is unique and showcases the joys, perils, and hilarious antics that accompany summer camp while showcasing the growth of the main character as she finds her own skills. I highly recommend for younger readers!
