Continues on from Matteo and Giulia story, and plenty of catching up with all her sister in laws and whats happening with them, also I might see several more stories coming for this family, like cousins or maybe a bodyguard or two....

Olivia Volante, 20 soon to be 21, only and youngest of 6, only sister to Alessandro, Leonardo, Antonio, Matteo and Gio (who is a recluse... for now). Italian. Knows she marries who her brother chooses for her since she not lucky for a love match so she will do as requested of her in their world. She and Piotr can rub each other the wrong way but he can also get under her skin for craves but he also has the power to shatter her at her lowest time.

Piotr Reznov, Russian, 28, soon to Pakhan from his uncle Boris, who is dating Olivia's mother. Piotr is his own boss but he also works with the Volante's so no hostile blood there. I just didn't like that he didn't want anything to do with Olivia until he saw her at her lowest in photos her ex took of her while she was degraded by the guy, photos she doesn't want anyone to ever see, tries to find but Piotr has in his possession. That seems the only reason he changes his mind to want Olivia by his side, as his Queen. He will build her up but he will shatter her by calling her something she hates to be called.

Someone is out for revenge and Olivia is kidnapped along with one of her brothers. Will they get to them in time??

This one was Olivia and Piotr's story. It was a bit confusing since I came in on this book, so I had to catch up with who was who regarding Olivia's family. This could have been a five star. Olivia is a strong, take no prisoners, intelligent lady who just wants love. Piotr is strong, determined and obsessive male. He seems to think he can dictate to Olivia, and she'll listen. All the while, he goes about his business. He finds pictures of Olivia that no one wants to get out and decides to marry her. The reason wasn't really clear, and the reader was lost as to why Olivia and what was his plan for those photos.

The story was a quick slow burn where the relationship builds and just when you think it's good, Piotr lets his jealousy come forth and that puts Olivia in danger. Her family finally sees how strong she really is. The one thing was we got an inkling of how the brothers do nice things for their wives in part to make up for them being obnoxious. Unfortunately, we don't get to see that with these two. Olivia doesn't make him grovel. After the way he behaved, he should still be groveling. What’s not to love about finding a diamond in the rough!
Piotr grew up as one tough bratva soldier thanks to his uncle who helped shape him and will lead to his becoming pakhan. When he helps the Volante family with a capture of someone responsible for a kidnapping, he discovers a secret about Olivia, the Volante princess that triggers a response in Piotr that is unexpected. Olivia asks Piotr for help for her sister-in-law that sets the stage for Piotr to follow through with his demand to marry Olivia in a short timeline. I fell in love with Olivia who is a strong female protagonist who is just what the doctor ordered for Piotr and they both declare their feelings for one another. Yet with Olivia’s secret that keeps intruding in their life, Piotr’s response is over the top and leads to Olivia leaving with her brother. With an unknown enemy capturing them, will Piotr be able to find Olivia and her brother? You’ll love how Olivia takes her lessons from her bodyguard to heart to combat the enemy and protect her brother. Definitely plan for reading this book in one sitting as no good place to stop!

I tried to like this book

I just couldn't get into this book. II really hated the MMC and the story just doesn't mesh the MFC supposed to be an innocent virgin yet she spread herself and let someone take pictures of her. It wouldn't have been so bad if she had been drugged but she did it voluntarily and then she tries to act innocent. I guess she's a sleazy virgin
the MMC is not an alpha male he's a misogynistic abusive creep the first time he's alone with her in an alley he raises up her dress and spanks her a bare bottom I was prepared and don't mind a little spanking done the right way but that kind of spanking is a demeaning violation. He spanked her for all kinds of perceived wrongs used rough BJ's as punishment. Abuse is not foreplay there is a difference between erotic discipline. Abuse is not a turn on for most women. In these kind of books no matter how bad the innocent little virgin is mistreated she just loves it loves it loves it and comes back for more so unrealistic. I give the authors credit for the talent of writing a book I just wish they wouldn't waste it on this kind unrealistic of trash.

She is a mafia princess, born into the life. With five brothers, she has always known she would marry for family alliances. When he comes around, she is not ready but he makes it clear. He is not taking out for an answer. He is the air to the Russian Bratva, and was never really interested in her until he found out her most vulnerable secret. He is obsessed with making her his bride. Her character is a bit immature and comes off childish at times, he is a strong alpha, but doesn’t seem to have a lot of depth. Their chemistry and steam is spicy and exciting. The man likes to use his hands for good spanking. However, of the character development is a little flat. I wanted to see more of an emotional reaction, especially from him as he realizes he’s falling in love with his bride. It just comes off as a little, detached with a little emotional connection. His strength and dominant personality is well depicted. I just wanted more. It does balance mafia, family drama well making their relationship the focus of the story instead of leading you off too far into the drama.

This dark mafia-arranged marriage romance really hit the nail on the head. It had all the deliciously dark aspects we love and more. Sassa Daniels where have you been all my life? I came in late in the series, this being the fifth book. Let me tell you I've definitely been missing out. It's a standalone but there are interconnected characters. I'll be heading back to read the rest of the series.

Olivia is our strong-willed, intelligent FMC. All she ever wanted was love but it wasn't in the cards for her.

Piotr is our obsessive morally-grey MMC. He wants to wreck her only to make Olivia his queen.

They had such good chemistry.
This was a fun wild ride and I can't wait to go back and read the rest of the series.

His To Ruin is book 5 in the Reluctant Vows series and my first read by this author. I'll start by saying that I broke one of my own rules and read this book without reading the previous books in this series. I NEVER do that but what can I say, I get excited about new to me authors 🤷‍♀️. That being said, I completely enjoyed this story and these characters! Piotr and Olivia are fantastic and perfection together. Chemistry is so off the charts HOT you can feel the heat. His To Ruin is absolutely a complete standalone, but now that I've had a taste I have to go back and read the previous books. What a great intro to this new to me author!

Loved the story. It’s well written, action packed, and very entertaining. Danger plays a part in the story but not enough to distract from the intense relationship between Olivia and Piotr. One thing I enjoyed about the story was the fact I never knew exactly what was going to happen next, the suspense was an added bonus to the story. This is part of a series and I intend to read more of it. I am curious as to whose story will be next.

Finally the story of the only sister of this Mafia. Olivia is a strong well young woman who loves to push everyone's buttons but Piotr is having Non of that. He's tough as nail but clearly has a soft spot for this firecracker. Strong emotion, spicy love scenes and a sneak peak to the lives of the other men & women in the previous stories. Recommended!.

Olivia is a strong, no-nonsense, intelligent lady wanting true love. Piotr is a powerful and obsessed male. He's under the misconception that he can dictate to Olivia, and she'll follow his command. He discovers pictures of Olivia that should not be released. He decides to marry her. His reason wasn't really clear. This story's pace will keep readers turning pages.

This was so good…
Having grown up in a mafia family, Olivia Volante is no stranger to the way things work, including arranged marriages. So, when Piotr Reznov informs her that they’re going to be married in a week she’s pretty much resigned to her fate. This book was quite the page turner for the most part. Full of feisty, fierce, and ferocious characters. No one took no for an answer and everyone stood their ground. On the flip side, sweet and caring, endearing and magnetic. In the blink of an eye everything can change.
