At least one good thing has come from Levi Spencer's car accident — it seems to have knocked some sense into him. He's ready to leave his wild Vegas playboy ways behind and become a new man. And he knows just the place to do it... his brother Joe's new hometown. He's never spent time in a place described as quaint or idyllic, and now he intends to revel in every charming, sweet thing he can find. Like the homegrown country girl his brother sets him up with for the Christmas formal.
Kate Leggot wants just one great Christmas. After a childhood without Christmas at all and three failed attempts to find the seasonal magic on her own, she agrees to spend the holiday with her friend Phoebe in Sapphire Falls. The Christmas-crazy town is a far cry from San Francisco and Kate quickly finds herself drawn into everything from the snow to the hot cocoa. And, of course, the sweet country boy Phoebe has set her up with for the formal. Looks like she's going to get everything she wanted — and more — under the tree this year.
A not-so-little mix-up, a hot kiss under the mistletoe and a candy cane or two later and December in Sapphire Falls has never been so hot.
This is a novella, about half the length of the novels in this series. Read only if you like fun, small town contemporary romances where they talk dirty and act even dirtier.
Erin Nicholas is the New York Times bestselling author of over sixty sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun.
She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).
Fantastic read! Kate, Phoebe's good friend, and Levi, Joe's brother, are both in Sapphire Falls for the holidays and have been fixed up with other people for their first night in town. A case of mistaken identity has Levi and Kate together and start them on an incredible journey. This was a great story and these two characters will be great additions to the Sapphire Falls group. I definitely recommend this!
I will never listen to this series in order.. will I?
Getting in the Spirit was a very cute novella. Probably one I didn't really need to dive into since my Christmas tree, and decorations inside my house, have been up since Sunday.. oops? Actually, no regrets because I love winter and Christmas is the BEST holiday around. Heck, I started listening to Christmas music and watched movies since Halloween. Yes, I am one of those lovely people. Come at me Christmas haters.
Anyhoo, back to this book. It was definitely cute. Levi and Kate were definitely a couple that you could fall in like with. Not love necessarily because some things tended to annoy me.. mostly work while listening to this book but it was also so short! Ugh, novellas!
Other than that, this book was kind of hilarious. These two were supposed to meet other people on a blind date.. and ended up meeting each other. They thought they were the person they were supposed to meet the entire time, until the end of the book. I didn't think things were going to be happy for them since one was thinking of staying and the other going back to her life. Yet, things worked out in the end.
Good thing it is cold where I am because this book is HOT! Erin Nicholas has amazed me once again and then some!
We met Levi, Joe's brother, in Getting Worked Up (Sapphire Falls, Book 2) and I couldn't wait to read his story. Kate is new to the Sapphire Falls series and she is GREAT and perfect for Levi. How the two meet is the fun part of this story and one that will make you laugh and gasp in classic Erin Nicholas style. As always, I LOVE Erin Nicholas's voice. I love that I feel like I am part of the story. I find her writing comforting/relaxing. I know when I pick up one of her books that I am going to be entertained and fall in love with another one of her heroes.
This novella is a contemporary romance and it is HOT. I highly recommend it and I also recommend the first three books in the Sapphire Falls series.
This lovely holiday romance has all the sass and sexy spirit I expect from this author! Levi and Kate are both big city people who come to Sapphire Falls for Christmas, expecting to be paired off with locals and ending up with each other instead. There is a great mix of Sapphire Falls charm alongside the reality of two people who aren't used to small town life but are making the best of things and enjoying every minute of it. There was enough background for each of the main characters to give you a sense of the difficulties they have both faced in their lives and the less than stellar Christmas experiences they've had. There is a lot of whimsy, some super sexy scenes and a sweet romance between Kate and Levi as they look for a happy ever after. 5 stars!
Loved the return trip to Sapphire Falls, everything is special in this small town. Levi has come to Sapphire Falls for a start in a new life and Kate is visiting, trying to find that one perfect Christmas. A date mix up, leads to hot kiss under the mistletoe gives you the perfect Christmas romance. I devoured this book in one afternoon, loved catching up with the rest of people from Sapphire Falls. I am now on the way to the store for candy canes. This is part of a series, can be read as a stand alone, but so much better if you read in order. I absolutely love this small town hot romance series.
This was adorable. Kate and Levi are two people who were supposed to be set up on blind dates with other people end up thinking that they are supposed to be each other's date. Complete meet cute but I loved the way these two were together.
There was an interesting scene with some candy canes. Loved that he came to the airport for her, but it was a bit of a cliffhanger. Of course I'm going right to the conclusion of their story.
This…wasn’t great. Our characters weren’t particularly likeable, this mostly due to the fact that we never really had the chance to get to know them. The pace was super speedy which doesn’t usually make for a great love story. Not to mention the candy canes, I’m sorry but that was nasty as hell, they were practically begging for an infection, ew.
Getting the Spirit is a fun, feel good, hot-enough-to-melt-snow sexy trip back to our favorite little town of Sapphire Falls. No one is better at delivering all that and more plus making you feel part of the action like Erin Nicholas. It’s the gift of love and Christmas spirit from Erin to her readers, wrapped up in pretty paper and tied with a big bow.
Levi Spencer, younger brother to schmexy Joe Spencer from Getting Worked Up, and Kate Leggot, friend of Phoebe Spencer, Joe’s wife, travel to Sapphire Falls to experience the magic of a country Christmas. Both were hoping to meet a Sapphire Falls local to spend a little sexy time with getting to know the town, but a blind date mix-up pairs the two. That’s when the magic starts to happen and the sparks turn into an inferno.
No spoiler details given here about Levi and Kate’s rush to love. Just know their attraction is instant. It’s magnetic. It’s witty. It’s sweet. It’s hotter than Hades. Plenty has already been said about the candy canes so I won’t recap. But I will say I’ve already bought mine…
This is our fourth trip to the quaint fictional town. It isn’t necessary to have read the first three books to enjoy Levi and Kate’s story because it stands on its own. But to really appreciate all of the inside jokes and savor all of the swoon-worthy moments with the previous heroes and heroines, you really should. Erin’s ability to seamlessly weave them into the story is what takes it from really good to freaking awesome.
If you can’t already tell, I loved, loved, LOVED Getting in the Spirit. I DID get into the spirit. And I cannot wait for Erin to take us back to Sapphire Falls again. I just hope she doesn’t make us wait too long.
"Getting in the Spirit" is a novella written by Erin Nicholas, and it is part of her Sapphire Falls series. It features Levi Spencer and Kate Leggot.
Levi Spencer recently got into a car accident, and he wants to have some downtime and take a break from his Vegas lifestyle. He decides to take up on his brother Joe's offer to stay at his place in Sapphire Falls and to be set up on a date with Hailey.
Meanwhile, Kate Leggot has had nothing, but bad experiences during Christmas. It's not exactly her favorite holiday. But she decides to take up on her friend Phoebe's offer to spend the holiday season with her in Sapphire Falls and to be set up on a date with Tucker for the formal.
But here's the thing... Phoebe and Joe are out of town on a business trip when Kate and Levi appear at the house. Neither Phoebe nor Joe know that the other one offered to let Kate or Levi stay at their house, so when Kate and Levi look for their respective dates by the descriptions Phoebe and Joe left them, Kate and Levi think they are each other's dates!
What happens when Kate and Levi realize the other is not Hailey or Tucker? Will this just be a Christmas fling, or will Kate and Levi take a chance at love?
"Getting in the Spirit" was just wonderful! All hilarity and everything hot ensues! I don't know Erin does it, but she's somehow able to always grab my attention within the first few pages of every story she writes. One thing I'm really excited about is that Erin will re-visit Kate and Levi early next year in "Getting in the Mood"!
Erin Nicholas in the spirit of Christmas gets her readers into the spirit of Sapphire Falls and its enchanting holiday season. Many a love stories have been made in Sapphire Falls, and many a happy endings we have read.
Levi Spencer ends up in Sapphire Falls to recuperate from a car accident, and rethink his priorities in life. Kate Leggot comes to lose herself in the charming town of Sapphire Falls, and at the behest of her friend Phoebe, spend her first ever Christmas of her life here. Levi and Kate meet under mistaken identities and end up with sparks igniting between them. In between staying in the same house, decorations, hot chocolate and a fireplace, they end up falling for each other, insecurities, doubts and all.
Now if Erin Nicholas makes me want to laugh, shake my head, blush, roll my eyes, giggle, flush, then who am I not to enjoy all those emotions along with Levi and Kate. If Erin Nicholas wants to give me a lesson in the right use of a candy cane, then I’m all ears, and here’s hoping she’ll give me many more of those interesting lessons!
Getting In The Spirit is an absolutely adorable love story, perfect for the holiday season, with sparkles of passion and the magic of love!
This book was so wonderful that not only did I read during one of the most important football games of the year; but I got caught up in Kate & Levi’s story that I found myself wanting to tell them sometimes it does happen fast & is forever only to realize that the characters weren’t ‘real’. Most importantly it reminded me of when I fell in love with my husband 30 years ago. This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE ERIN NICHOLS book!
Levi Spencer is the most eligible bachelor with a love of all things excessive and a lack of shame. After a terrible car accident he decides he is going to change his womanizing ways. He’s going to Sapphire Falls to have a normal Christmas and meet a sweet country girl.
Kate Leggot never had a Christmas as a child and when she tried as an adult they ended disastrous. Phoebe invites Kate to Sapphire Falls for a REAL Christmas – she even has her a date for the Christmas formal.
Add a case of mistaken identity; sizzling chemistry and this unlikely pair create a Christmas that neither of them will ever forget.
This is a stand-alone Novella with no cliff hangers.

I want to live in Sapphire Falls!!! *sigh* Since I can't live there I'm glad I can at least read all about it. It's Christmas in Sapphire Falls and the town is in full on Christmas cute mode. The kissing booth has even been transformed into a hot coco stand-seriously how cute is that?! Kate and Levi haven't had the best experiences at Christmas so they are both determined to have better this year. The mistaken identity is corrected fairly quickly but the sparks between them couldn't be extinguished (not that they tried too hard though). Levi may not be able to start a fire or cut down a tree but he manages to melt your heart with his effort and desire to give Kate the best Christmas ever. I loved, loved, loved this book! I never want this series to end. The town and the people are the best. The stories manage to be super sweet and freaking HOT at the same time. And the things Kate and Levi do with candy canes should either be outlawed or practiced all year long!
Getting in the Spirit is the perfect Holiday Novella and addition to the Sapphire Falls Series. During the Holidays I always feel like I can't sit and read a "normal" novel and this was just long enough to have the right amount of scenes so it didn't feel rushed, but it was short enough, that I didn't feel like I was ignoring everything else I needed to do. Levi and Kate have never had what you would call a traditional Christmas and Sapphire Falls is the epitome of small town Christmas from the decorations in the town square, to the Hot Chocolate Stand and the towns first even Holiday Formal. Levi and Kate don't quite know when they are getting themselves into when they agree to a blind date but this holiday will certainly becomes one to remember after a case of mistaken identities. While you don't have to read the first three books in the Sapphire Falls Series, I would really recommend them, because it just adds that much more to this story.
I loved this sexy, fun, holiday story set in my favorite small town of Sapphire Falls and devoured Levi and Kate's story in one sitting. These two were perfect for each other and I really enjoyed the circumstances which they met. I couldn't help but laugh at Joe and Phoebe's involvement and the mix-up that happened that got them together. I adored both Levi and Kate and I could feel their connection right from the beginning. They came to Sapphire Falls hoping to experience a little of the happiness this town has to offer. I really enjoyed seeing Levi change his ways and devote his time giving Kate what she wants so she has the best Christmas ever. I loved getting a chance to revisit with some of the other characters again. The author turned up the sweetness and heat with this couple and will have readers looking at candy canes in a totally different light. Another winner from Erin Nicholas.
It's Christmas and we're heading back to Sapphire Falls for this sweet and steamy novella.
Levi Spencer, Joe's sexy brother, is looking for a change after a near tragedy forces him to reevaluate his priorties. Seeing as how Joe's been so happy living in Sapphire Falls, Levi thinks it's just what the doctor ordered and vows to not only come for a visit but stay for a year.
Kate is searching for the holiday magic she's been missing her entire life. And what better place to find it than Sapphire Falls where she can visit her good friend Phoebe Spencer.
Levi and Kate's meeting is inevetiable and hilarious and downright dirty. It's Erin Nicholas at her best.
There's only one thing you won't like about this story. It leaves you wanting more Levi and Kate.
Fair warning, once you finish this story you won't look at candy canes the same ever again!
I just love small town xmas feeling. It makes me want to go out, eat cookies, drink hot coco while watching the snow falls, and carolers sing.
Levi is a bad boy playboy who is taking a break and turning his life around. Too be fair I know nothing of his past so he never seemed so bad to me. And he wants to meet a nice small town girl and relax.
Kate has never had a great xmas and her friend invites her to her small town, and hooks her up with a nice farmer.
But, things are never that simple. Levi and Kate meet, have a great time. But can their love survive outside this small town. She has a job, he wants this now. But duh, yes yes, they will live happily ever after. And the novella worked, I could see it, all that xmas magic you know.
What a great novella! I love anything that has to do with Sapphire Falls, the town created by Erin Nicholas in her Sapphire Falls series. This story did not disappoint. Levi is trying to make changes in his life, so he goes to Sapphire Falls to stay with his brother Joe and his family. Phoebe's friend Kate has never had a real Christmas and instead of staying home and ignoring the holiday, Phoebe invites her to Sapphire Falls. Problem is Joe and Phoebe forgot to mention to each other, that they each invited someone to stay. Let's just say, a few mistakes that could happen to anyone start this story off right. A delightful read and I hope to see more of Levi & Kate in future Sapphire Falls books.
We meet Kate and Levi in this Sapphire Falls novella.
This book may be a novella but dang Erin didn't leave out any of the heat and heart her other books comprise offer. I have two words for you Candy Canes!!!!
Kate and Levi's story continues in the novella Getting In the Mood!
Kate is looking to have a Sapphire Falls Christmas extravaganza. She needs a little Christmas Spirit in her life and Levi with his candy canes and Christmas cookies is exactly when she is looking for.
Levi has lived his entire life in the fast lane and after a bad accident he has decided he is going to take a lesson out of his brother Joe's play book and settle down for a year in Sapphire Falls.
Getting In the Spirit was a sweet and sexy romance novella to the Sapphire Falls series by Erin Nicholas. I really like how Erin introduces new characters to this quaint little town. Levi and Kate are such a sweet couple. Even though past relationships and life styles didn't work for them they never gave up on finding true love and what better place to fall in love than in Sapphire Falls. You have to read this series because you will also fall in love with Sapphire Falls where true love and friendships empower each other.
Getting In the Spirit brings us back to Sapphire Falls for Christmas... Levi and Kate end up there too, because of their well meaning loved ones, and they find everything they've ever wanted there, right there under the tree :)
Erin Nicholas does it again, throwing in a little mistaken identity into a warmly emotional and sexy story that brings us back to the little town we've come to know and love. And the hero and heroine learn what all of us readers have--once you visit Sapphire Falls, you never want to leave!
Levi is a mess. He has decided to get his life together. His brother Joe is giving him a place to heal. Kate has never had a good Christmas. So her friend Phoebe offered to set her up. Only there was a mix up. Levi & Kate ended up together. It was fun reading Levi and Kate fall in love. Levi embraced his feelings and Kate ran. You can run but you can't hide. Definitely must read.
This is a well written story and it left me wanting more. There are some steamy parts but it only enhance the characters feelings towards each other. I would be happy to read more pieces by this author.
Getting in the Spirit was a fun holiday read. Levi's was recently in an accident and he now realizes he needs a change from his big city life or he is going to end up killing himself. So he calls up his brother and while talking to him decides to go visit him in Sapphire Falls and stay for a while. A small town will be just what he needs. Plus Joe is going to set him up with a nice, small town girl to go to the holiday festivities with.
Kate has always wanted a great Christmas, but she is constantly disappointed. Her mom didn't celebrate growing up and the last three Christmas' have been...not good. When she calls her friend Phoebe, Joe's wife, she convinces Kate to not give up on Christmas just yet. To come to Sapphire Falls to spend the holidays and she will hook Kate up with a nice, small town guy to spend the holidays with.
Phoebe and Levi don't realize they both set their friends up with someone in town for the same place and time, but when Levi sees Kate he thinks she is his date (and vice versa). Oh it was fun! There is an instant connection there, but they both think the other is from Sapphire Falls. It was really fun seeing how much they like each other and how they don't realize who the other really is for a while. I loved it. And once they do figure it out will they keep having holiday fun together, fun that might turn into something more, or will to go find the people they were meant to be set up with?
This was a really great holiday read. I loved how much Kate loves Christmas and how much she wants the perfect one this year. It was a lot of fun to read and perfect for the holidays.
Levi is a millionaire from Vegas who wants to live the slow life in a small town, after he's had an accident. Kate is a climate scientist who comes to spend Christmas in the same small town, and it's lust at first sight. Then they have lots of sex and have to figure out if they want to live together. It was quite enjoyable although an awful lot in this plot depends on them not communicating. At one point he laments not knowing if she likes Johnny Depp movies and hopes that the old men at the diner ask her if she has ex boyfriends. For Pete's sakes, if talking is that difficult the sex better be spectacular.
The Kindle edition I got is marketed as a box set of two novellas and a short story (the other titles are Getting Frisky and Getting in the Mood) but it's all about the same couple in the same story line and about the size of a novel altogether so I pretty much considered it just a single novel and this review reflects all three of them.
The romance was sweet and the sex was steamy, it was a great mix. Though, they did some things with innocent candy canes that will change how I look at that confection. The relationship was fast moving, which the characters were aware of, and I'm not sure it would have worked if Levi wasn't a millionaire but it was easy to fall into. Levi and Kate are adorable as they navigate the initial misunderstanding and the realization that the mix up was perfect for them. I also GREATLY appreciated that the characters were mostly up front with one another so I didn't have to read 100 pages of drama that could have been cleared up with a simple test message. It was refreshing and a good start to my Christmas romance extravaganza! Also, Sapphire Falls was wonderfully idyllic. The setting was the perfect compliment to the Christmas mood that has been creeping up on me. Its description was crawling into a Thomas Kincade painting and I would be happy to spend more time there.
Both Joe and Phoebe have invited his brother Levi and her friend Kate to spend Christmas with them. But oops they forgot to tell each other. Blame it on the baby. They do at least make arrangements for them to meet Tucker and Hailey as their dates for the formal. But Levi and Kate meet each other first at Come Again.
This is a cute novella about two people whose lives have hit a bump in the road. Each have heard wonderful things about Sapphire Falls so come to spend Christmas. A first for Kate who never celebrated Christmas and Levi got it lost in the tinsel of Vegas. We leave them with trying to figure how their lives can work around this new found love. So of course we all believe love will win the day.
Levi Spencer has been living the fast, good life. And then the car crash. So he decides to slow down by visiting his brother in Sapphire Falls. Well, and living there for a year. So he asks his brother for a set-up. Also looking for a break from the fast lane? Kate Leggot. She comes out and asks her friend Phoebe for a set up as well. Through a series of mistakes, Levi and Kate end up together. I wish they had figured out the mistake a little faster and the ending was wrapped up way too fast but otherwise a good story.
