First off, I have never played Borderlands and knew nothing about it going into this comic. So, I can only go by what I saw here.
There isn't a lot of help to get new readers up to speed, but the story was fairly easy to follow. It was fairly short but it was only the first issue of the series. I enjoyed the artwork and felt it went well with the story provided.
The story was interesting enough that I will consider seeking out more things set in the Borderlands universe. I am going with 3.5 stars on this one.
Still waiting to get my Borderlands Handsome Collection which'll probably come in the mail tomorrow. But this comic was awesome, I really like Roland as a character and really want to read more from the other characters and how they all came on the bus. Lilith is has the next comic and she is my fave. Hopefully I'll find it soon ;)
Roland's origins were a little to serious for the Borderlands' series which is filled with crude humor, but he was always the most serious character is the video games this back story explains why. Just wish it was not so short.
This comic takes place before the events of the first Borderlands. This comic is about Roland, a mercenary who was wrongly accused for seeing a classified file which leads to his team's demise
