From the Queen of Erotica, Zane’s Addicted with a Twist is the sequel to Addicted, her wildly popular novel about a married woman whose life spirals out of control when her three affairs lead her down a dark and twisted path.Three years after the end of Addicted, Zoe and Jason Reynard are still married and raising their family together. But Zoe has a new “dirty little secret” that leaves her torn between being honest with her therapist, Dr. Marcella Spencer, and her mother—or continuing her forbidden hotel rendezvous with a man who calls himself “Orpheus.” Has Zoe truly overcome her sexual addiction through the strength of her love for her husband and continued therapy? Or is she still jeopardizing everything and everyone she holds dear in order to satisfy her fantasies?

Never in a million years did I think I would write a one or two star review for any of Zane's works. She's one of my fave authors and have great material under her belt, but this SHORT STORY was hella disappointing and way too short. Had I not needed something to add to my book count, I probably wouldn't have finished. This was unneeded. In my opinion, I feel like she wrote this short story to capitalize off the "Addicted" movie-adaptation (which disappointed me as well).
But anyways, I felt like the first chapter was unnecessary. Instead of filling the chapter of with a sexual fantasy with "Orpheus" while she masturbated in her office, Zane could have at least given the actually sex two or three rounds.
Chapter 2 started off nice but the sex scene fell flat. It didn't give me what I wanted but it did drop a hint.
The third chapter was boring but I see a lot of the readers didn't pick up where Zane basically said, without saying, that "Orpheus" is none other than Jason. Their small conversation at the end kinda gave that away, which leads me to believe that to spice their relationship up, they role play or created these alter egos.
In conclusion, I wouldn't recommend this short story to anyone.
Excellent follow-up allowing a glimpse into Zoe's life after 'Addicted'. Is she actually trying to beat her addiction or has she relapsed? She appears to not have changed a bit and still up to her old ways, or is she? Has Jason stood the test of time? Was therapy the answer/wake-up call needed to heal before all was broken? 'Addicted With a Twist' fuels my need for more and kept me guessing to the end, classic Zane.
When I saw this title, I knew that it had to be a sequel to Addicted. I loved that book, so I knew that this would be a good read. Zoe is back with her extremely high sexual appetite. You would think that she would have learned from her past mistakes. But of course she didn't. Her sexual addiction leads to all kinds of problems for her. Will Orpheus be the cause of her destruction? Hmmm. With the way this ended, there has to be more right?
Wtf? This should have been left in the drafts. I could have gone without reading this book, I read it on Scribd and out of the 63 pages 36 of them was the actual story and 27 of them were promoting her other books. What were we honestly supposed to do with this information?
I can't say this was my favorite or that I hated it. However, Zoe really needs to get herself in order. She's married and yet banging a married dude with the Matrix sounding name. Lol I know that's not his name. Just funny even mentioning it. Not surprised she's back to her old ways. Poor Jason. After all those fatalities.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because I was mad it was so short. Okay, so I can be petty. Otherwise, I enjoyed it. I gasped, shook my head, and had an A-ha moment, all before it abruptly ended. A great QUICK read to catch up on Zoe and Jason.
I read Addicted several years ago and I can’t remember too much aside from being so engrossed in the story. I was looking forward to this. Then I found out it was a “novella”... which okay I could get with that but then it was only two chapters...on top of that it just seemed all over the place and I figured out the “twist” or “surprise” early on. I wasn’t too pleased with this. It may be other people’s thing but it wasn’t mines. I was pretty disappointed... but it won’t stop me from trying more of Zanes Novels.
The only reason I’m giving this novella two stars is because the story was cute & I was glad to see that Zoe & Jason got their happily ever after. Especially after everything that transpired between them in the first book , addicted. HOWEVER , I don’t feel like a novella was necessary. I’m glad to add this to my list as far as read books are concerned but I do feel like this novella was a little pointless. It could have served a better purpose as a secondary epilogue in the original book. Nevertheless , it was a cute , spicy , enjoyable , short read.
This hot and steamy short story is an update on Zoe and Jason Reynolds, the couple that we met in Addicted. From the outside, it appears as if Zoe has returned to her scandalous ways. But, the moment the title makes sense is wonderful.
I recommend this quick read in between full length novel or series.
Glad this was a library borrow or I’d be upset. Merely one of Zoe’s sexcapades, there was really no point to this. Rule #1, and the only rule that matters, NEVER read two Zane books back to back. You realize her redundancy in words, and sex scenes....
I was a little disappointed with this short story. One, it was way too short for me, and two, it really didn't have much of a twist to it. I was more shocked. By how short it was than the actual story line.
The ending was surprising. But I think everyone knew Zoe was a liar except her kids. I knew because her own mother saw right through her. And then the conversation at the end between Zoe and her husband. Zoe was honest with him.
I haven’t read the original in the while, but this twist was interesting. It’s wild how even though after almost losing her family, confessing her demons, and redeeming herself, she returned back to her old ways.
Great short to catch up with characters who feel like old friends. Great read. Zane is a pro at weaving an erotica enthralling tale. She never disappoints.
Wish I had more than that little short story, because I really thought zoe was up to her old tricks. That second half of this books left me wanting more
Apparently I was misinformed about what kind of book this was going to be. I have read short stories that are after or in between the main books but....IDK what this was. It was only 2 chapters. And it's not that I didn't like the update on how they were doing but all it did was show the problem was still going on and no solution was ever given.
As an avid Zane reader and loving their short stories, I think this one was not what I expected it to be. Zane books I would read again, this one I wouldn't.
