Too angsty and self loathing for my tastes. The heroine kept taking everyone else's problems onto herself to the point of stupidity. I get having empathy or wanting to help others but damn, sometimes things are other people's problems, let them deal with shit themselves. They're not children.

Not to mention, everyone was keeping secrets left and right, putting everyone else in awkward or hurtful situations. Even when it came to people that they barely knew or didn't need to lie it. It was like they were doing mental Olympics trying to justify why to lie or just plain desperate for reasons to lie.

It felt more like an over the top soap opera than a romance novel. Just a whole big bag of "calm the fuck down".

This book is amazing! Being a military man, Knox is hot! I love how he fell for Ripley, but tried to resist, knowing their friendship would never be the same. Their romance was intense with plenty of steamy scenes. Ripley’s loss was huge and I couldn’t imagine if it happened to me. She had a great support system, though. Ripley did drive me crazy at times with how she kept so many secrets. She was protecting people, but some of it just needed to come out from the start and have those who made the mistakes fess up. I wasn’t expecting the big secret, but the connection that was made between it and Ripley and Knox’s relationship was sweet. Overall, this is a wonderful book that I would like to forget, so I can read it again. If you’re a big fan of romances, like me, you’ll love it!

I loved this book a lot!! It really had me crying throughout the book. There is a big huge secret that effects everyone in the book. The main character Ripley, such a strong young woman. I don't blame her for protecting everyone she cares about even if that means pushing the man she loves away. I think Knox should have communicated with her rather than assuming. However in the end Rip and Knox have a HEA and I cried for them in the end!! Love this story. I couldn't put it down.
