He didn't expect to fall in love with her, but now that she's his, he's not going to let her go.

However, after the unexpected death of a gang member, the town descends into chaos as the leader of the Syndicate gang is on an avid search for the one responsible. And when Heath begins to take matters into his own hands to protect the ones he loves, he's torn at the double life he leads. The trust he once offered to the one woman that ever loved him is jeopardized as he begins to lose himself in a dark and dangerous world of lies.

“Saving Lawson” is the second and final book in R.J. Lewis series entitled “Loving Lawson” and picks up (almost) right where the previous book ended. While I enjoyed book1, I loved this one. It was intriguing, kept me at the edge of my seat and it was full of twists and turns. This installment was action-packed, suspenseful, but also sweet with a nice dose of steam.

"Being with someone always means risking having your heart broken, and at the end if the day,its nobody's fault but your own.You made the leap. You chose to step in, blind with both eyes open. That's what it takes to fall in love.

Allie gave birth to a baby boy, Kayden. Now she tries to be a good mom for her son and to show Heath how grateful she is for everything he did for her. All this time, Heath was there for her, caring for her, supporting her and showing her what really means to love unconditionally. He stepped right away into daddy shoes, being more than smitten with the baby Kayden. He buys a house for Allie and all he wants now is to make Allie his wife, but Allie is not ready for that, yet. She’s tired to hear all the rumors about her and on top of that she is still struggling to accept that practically she torn apart two brothers. Everything is good in Heath and Allie’s life until Heath gets involved in something nasty and dangerous.

"She was worth every single obstacle.
Her and Kayden both.
They saved me from a meaningless existence, and they were breathing more life into me with each passing day."

This second book was much better that I expected. Like the previous installment, this one was told in multiple povs. (Heath’s, Allie’s and Ryker’s). All three characters are flawed, well developed and in some way even relatable. Heath was as always sweet, caring and simply wonderful with Allie and with the baby Kayden. However he made some stupid decisions along the way.

Ryker was an intriguing character here and I didn’t expected for him to play such a big role. Also, we get to know more about him, what happened with him in the past and also how he’s trying to survive in prison. Needless to say we get to understand his character much better in this installment. He was a criminal for a long time, he lied and cheat, but he is not really a bad guy. What I didn’t like was how was handled his redemption. Everything felt rushed, so a little unbelievable.

The story has angst and some drama, a better plot than the previous installment and some hot steamy sex scenes that kept my interest from start to finish.

Overall, a great, enjoyable read!

Omg I was bamboozled by the plot twist …….. I truly didn’t see it coming ! LOVED IT !

This book is the continuation of Loving Lawson and we keep following the story of Heath, Allie and Ryker. When I put it this way you may think it’s a love triangle or a throuple situation, but it’s not. As we know from book one, Allie first dated Ryker the younger brother who’s now in prison. And now she’s been with the actual love of her life the amazing gorgeous Heath who’s the older brother….. trick right? Yep it is ….
The way Heath was getting deeper into the darker side, lying like it was his career and changing before our very eyes made me feel like I wasn’t going to like the ending. But I was wrong, thank goodness 😅
One thing we need to take from this book is : HEATH WILL DO EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING TO KEEP ALLIE AND KAYDEN WITH HIM AND PROTECTED. He will cross every single line you can think of, he will lie through his teeth even though he punishes himself for because he hates it, he will do crazy things and you will start to question him. But one thing you can’t forget is the CRAZY UNSTOPPABLE LOVE he has for Allie, he is obsessed with her, his heart hurts with the love he feels for her, he feels so much and the way the writer describes makes you feel pain in your heart like he does. The way he loves “his” son who is actually Ryker’s son, it’s so beautiful and sweet. I was wary of the lies but I never truly cheer against him, I could see he was trying….. and nothing could make me hate him, I simply love him.
Ryker this time has his own POV’s and you get to see his past and his present now in prison, you get to understand how and why everything happened and I couldn’t help but feel bad for him and like him. I obviously didn’t want him with Allie because SHE WAS HEATH’S but I understood him.
Allie grew more into herself in this book, I don’t like how she was doubting Heath but at the same time I understood because she didn’t know anything, she was kept in the dark and he was lying to her left and right, he just never ever lied about his love and desire for her, this was too strong and couldn’t contain. But I liked how strong she became and how even when she finds part of the truth she still stays with him and loves him, because she sees how she can’t even exists without him, her love is also strong. We have an honorable mention here in Marko, he was excellent in this book and I might be convinced to read his book with Isla….. just saying…..
The way the story progresses was making me so nervous and anxious, I was basically on the edge of my seat. With all the gang fights and manipulation/lies I was literally biting my nails…. The ending got me, I don’t say this often because most of the times I figure the plot and I can see it a mile away, but this time I truly did not. SHOCKING! It’s only not a 5⭐️ because it wasn’t as centered on the romance, felt like the romance was a side smaller part of and I wanted to see MORE of Heath and Allie, I wanted the angst, spice, tension and love we see in book one. But still a good as hell book.

God damn it!!! I feel like shit right now!!!

This journey was so emotional... I'm so moved from this ending!!!

Yeah, finally everyone got what they really deserved!!! And i'm glad about that...
Don't think that my tears are tears of unhappiness...
No, it's tears from pure happiness....

Yeah, Allie, Heath, Kayden and Ryker finally did it!!!
And i can not describe you how much i bonded myself with these people...
I miss them already!!!!

Phew!!! My heart is still beating out loud in my chest...
We've been through so much shit in this book...

My heart was breaking over and over again...
In some point i really lost it!!! What was that???

How everything went upside down???
OMG... It was rough and cruel sometimes, but also was nice and sweet...

At the end of the first book, i was confused and i didn't understand how the things were twisted like that... That book answered all my questions and believe me when i'm saying that i was having too many...

The story began almost half year after the end of the first book...
Allie finally gave birth to her little man, Kayden and she is still in love with Heath... Yeah!!!

She is taking care of her child, she goes to college and she is trying to ignore the bad rumors for her... Everyone around town are saying that she got between two brothers and that she is using Heath until Ryker will go out from jail...
Except that, she is torturing herself by guilts... Guilts because of hurting Ryker... Even though she was mad with him, she feels guilty and she had to wash away this burden upon her shoulders... but the only person that can help her refused to talk to her...

"The pain I caused Ryker… I didn’t want to think about it. I’d been angry at him for everything he’d put me through, and I lashed out feeling justified for letting him go. But anger fades away and what’s left behind are the words that were said – and words never fade away. They become part of your past, forever following you, and forever making you wish you’d chosen different ones."

Heath is absolutely in love with Allie and his newborn "son". He wants the best for his family, so he is trying to make it happen. But in the way, he is getting himself involve with some serious shit... Shit that started from Ryker and now, he digging himself very deep in the name of love and protection...

And believe me when i'm saying that the things get really... really ugly in some point...
I'm still wondering how i managed to get through those things... Very hard and with much pain...
As for his relationship with Allie, many times he feels insecure about her feelings and i think that he lives in a constant fear about Ryker... Allie and Kayden are his whole life and he will do everything about them... EVERYTHING!!!

"I wasn’t sure what I’d do to change it. Everything wrong that happened had led me to this girl. She was worth every single obstacle.
Her and Kayden both.
They saved me from a meaningless existence, and they were breathing more life into me with each passing day."

As for Ryker... I have to say that in this book we were having and his POV, except Heath and Allie's, and it was very interesting... Because finally i understood what was the deal with him...

Ryker wasn't a bad guy... He was caught in the wrong place in the wrong time and from that moment, his life changed in a bad way... Yeah, he did many bad things and he said many lies, but deep down inside he remained the good kid that used to be... No, i haven't change my mind... I still prefer Heath for Allie, but i understand Ryker more in this book...

"Love was like a fucking sickness. It came and went, and when it did come, it dropped you on your ass and left you waiting for signs of improvement. And when you got better, you knew that fucker was still lingering behind some corner somewhere along the way, waiting to strike again.
It struck me when she walked out."

So that book was talking about how some situations can force a nice guy to do nasty things even though he didn't want to and what a man is capable to do for the ones he loved...

I really liked all the Lawson boys and i liked the conclusion of this book...
That was a book for the power of love , for family and trust ...

I loved it!!! It was an amazing story...
I feel a blank spot inside me right now...
I will miss that book!!! I know i'll do!!!!

I waited a long time to finish out this duet. I think I was really shocked by the cliff hanger and I didn’t know how I felt about Ryker. I was concerned this would be a love triangle, but it wasn’t.

I can see all the glowing reviews. If you finish the book, you will get it, but I didn’t feel the same. Saving Lawson wasn’t a bad book, but the angst was too much for me. Yup, it’s my favorite A word. I can only handle so much angst and this one took the cake.

The star of the book is Heath. He does everything he can to provide for his family. I mean EVERYTHING. Even if that means lying to Allie. You can see can see where I am going. It’s hard for me to watch him be a good guy, but all behind Allie’s back.

I totally get where Allie is coming from. She wants a normal life. She wants to raise Kayden in a good environment but when Health starts acting odd, the dynamic of the book is filled with tension. On top of that, Ryker is back into the picture and he’s not a nice guy.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read a whole book about Ryker being angry at Allie and Heath and wanting his revenge. In fact I skimmed his POV because I couldn’t take the negativity. I get his anger issues, I get it, but it was just a lot.

A lot happens in the book and it basically turns in the second half, which I kind of liked. I felt like everything was turned up a notched and it just went all out crazy.

It’s an intense and not easy story to read. If you liked the first book, you will be happy with this one. This one is for sure the angst junkies.

I totally devoured this book! Devoured it! So, obviously I loved it! And what a great change for me to love the second book to a series more than the first!

With Heath getting himself into some scary shit, my heart was breaking.....after all, the lies were being thrown around again, and poor Allie.....she was so confused by it all. But I knew, I just knew, Heath had to have a plan for it all!

This book was so exciting I really didn't want to put it down. My anxiety level was seriously up there at some points!

Ryker has been released from prison, and man that was where some of the anxiety was coming from..... Allie didn't know who to trust or where to turn, but at least her mother came to bat and helped to care for Kayden. Loved Heath and Kayden's relationship!

Ugh Heath, I wanted to slap you at some points with how you were treating Allie, but I kept hoping with all the dishonesty, things would work out between them. Their chemistry was smoking! My heart.......and a couple of surprises I was not expecting!

What a great book! Loved the ending, loved the Lawson Brothers, loved the Epilogue, and LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THE "20 Years Later" part. THIS REALLY COMPLETED THE BOOK FOR ME!!!

I highly recommend Loving Lawson and Saving Lawson. It is a unique storyline and just so damn great!!!!!!!!!

speechless

Disclaimer, have tissues nearby.

This book was so fantastically amazing I don't even know how to write a review that gives it justice. I mean, the ups and downs and "oh my god I never saw that coming" was so beautifully executed that I want to read the book all over again. I'm in love and lust with the Lawson brothers.

IT WAS OK read, at times I felt like story dragged towards the finish line and at one point the time line jumps 20 years ahead...

it was supposed to show the redemtion process of the characters BUT it kinda just jumped into it, fast forward, ka-boom...showing us the result...

BUT all in all I liked it and it was a fine closure to the messy, complicated thing called life! (book life) :D

Speachless again!

I couldn't write a review after the first book think I was still stunned following a cliffhanger.

And I still can't put into words coherently what ive read.

I will say this though its written brilliantly in a way that keeps you on edge.

It contains so many things that bring every emotion to the surface, the anger, love, hurt, lies, danger, deception, betrayal and brutality this story engulfs on draws you in.

Its in a class of its own.

100 Stars..... Freaking Amazing and YES I am yelling that out loud!!!!! What a mini series.....

Utterly Brilliant, Raw and at the same time Ugly but oh so damn Beautiful. This story was so much more than romance and sex, it was suspenseful and mysterious and had angst and so much emotional turmoil. In a nutshell, this story HAD EVERY facet of EVERY EMOTION going on! Holy hell this book was without a doubt sheer perfection!!!!!!!! If you read my review on the first book, I liked it a lot but had some unanswered reservations swirling around in my head.... Well let me tell you that this book not only answered my questions BUT told so much more than I would have ever even begun to guess......This was a total roller coaster ride of so many emotions and twists and turns I never saw coming nor would have even guessed coming!

RJ Lewis, is a literary genius and this story was beyond complex, it was truly brilliant and it was told with perfection! I can't believe it took me this long to get to these books.....

This second book grabbed me from the get-go and I couldn't put it down for anything. It was just so amazing and had so many twists and turns but I never had a single moment of doubt how much Heath loved Allie and vice versa.... Yep, I LOVED Heath since book 1 and Allie, oh Allie, I loved her. I loved her character straight from the start of this book. She not only grew on me, she totally grew up as a person in this book into the most beautiful woman and mother:) Don't get me wrong in that I never thought of her as immature even in the first book but this book she was just an amazing woman in every way and I got to see into her head and what she was thinking and she erased any doubts I had lingering from the first book. Heath, holy hell, THAT guy was just simply perfect in every single way possible and then some. Yep, I am going there, I did love Ryker too and as the story progresses I think everyone will love him too. I can't lie, I read this book on the edge of my seat, holding my breath with a huge lump in my throat at times.

The ending of this book had me crying, yep sobbing with the biggest fattest saddest but yet happiest tears ever!!!!!! It was the absolute PERFECT ending to this story and I can definitely see more stories coming out of this one too, wink, wink!!!! I would love to see RJ Lewis expand on all of these truly beautiful people.... and there are plenty that I want and hope to get stories on for sure, please, please, lol!!!!! PS LOVED the sneak peak at Isla and Marko's story and will be anxiously awaiting that one and hopefully more of these great characters too!!!!!!!!

I am in a serious book hangover after this mini series for sure!!!!! Congrats RJ Lewis, I cannot stress enough how GREAT of a series this was for me..... BRILLIANT, PERFECT, GENIUS, yep all these words and so many more come to mind while thinking of the story you told:)

Saving Lawson begins 6 weeks after Allie has given birth to her son Kayden. This story was broken up into two parts and to be honest I thought part 1 was a little slow and I had a hard time staying focused. That all changed by the end of part 1 and part 2 was just awesome. So much happens that I wasn't expecting and I couldn't put my kindle down because I just had to know how it ends. The ending was bittersweet, I understood why but it was still heart breaking. Although the choices they made had lots of consequences they let their hearts lead them but the love Heath had for Ryker was always there. I can't wait for Marko's story and I'm looking forward to getting to know Reaper.

Ugh, so good. Even better than book one. The ending was fantastic.. the only thing I hate is when you get so involved with the characters and storyline and when you finish the book you feel lost :( I hope there is more books in the future? To do with Ryker or their children. I am really enjoying books by this author :) adding to my favorites shelf!

Two souls that ripped me to shreds and stomped on my heart 10 kazillion stars

DO NOT READ THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE READ THE FIRST BOOK, LOVING LAWSON!!!! There aren't spoilers exactly but somethings are better left read. So go BUY the first book and then come read this.

Imagine knowing that you will cry or be sad and have you heart broken but the author puts you on a false sense of calm and then she whacks you with so much angst that you crumple on to the floor and cry and not get up.

Yep!! RJ Lewis has done it again. I am a total mess right now. It's 5 am and I just finished Saving Lawson and I am a complete wreck. This story has taken me through so much up and down that I cannot being to tell you what this sort of whiplash feels like. I am not kidding guys I have WHIPLASH of epic proportion.

The story stars with Ryker telling his part, and it breaks my heart to listen him narrate. He isn't such a bad kid, just got twisted into a big pile heaped wit craptastic human-beings. I felt my soul rip apart at the end. He really had nothing to look forward to but Allie and now he doesn't even have that. What does a man that has nothing have anything to lose? Is that man dangerous? You'll find out.

Then there's the appearance of none other than Reaper. OMFG!!! I totally lost my head.

Seriously, I did squeal even knowing that he had made an appearance in this book. He added another dimension to the story. Him helping out one of the brother was wow. Epic much!!!

So things are moving on with Allie and Heath and it's not exactly smoooth. I mean he does survive the gun-in-the-face moment. But the highlight being the baby being born. My heart exploded with swoooniness with how Heath was with the baby. Seriously, when a hot guy goes all gooey over baby, I lose my head. #hotguyproblem

Heath is trying his best to take care of his family, he's never thought of ever having one of his own and he cannot begin to appreciate his good fortune but he will DO EVERYTHING in his power to keep them safe. So begins his quest to taking care of his family and Allie finds out something and secrets are revealed and things swirl down to chaos. And just when things go back to sort of hurricane normal, the whole apartment incident happens. QUEUE for me to curl up on the floor and cry, I could NOT breathe. This could NOT be happening, how was it even possible.

Heaaaaaaaaaath! Babyyyyyyyyy! Allllieeeeeeeeee! OMG, thugs in the house and there might or might not be sharp objects around.

Honestly my kindle needs police protection when I'm reading a RJ Lewis story. Thank God, all this is internal and not literal. I am a basket case when it comes to RJ. Then Ryker gets out of jail, thank God in one piece. And he's back to square one because craptastic evil spawn is still wanting to ruin his LIFE. I felt my heart split open when he talked about his last night in jail and his reality. This story truly portrays the harsh side of life. What men are capable of when it comes to power and money? How they justify their actions? How low they can sink to actually not feel anything when taking a life. Hedley is a the center of chaos because of drugs and the Syndicate will try to keep it down.

The whole craptastic storm brews with the craptastic evil spawn boss at the helm trying to tear everything down and the there's Matt who is also heading down to chaos. And then Allie goes to see Ryker and more secrets are revealed. The things about secrets is that it usually destroys you. Ryker has changed, he's not the same man that Allie knew. Her heart breaks to find the truth. But like a champion, she moves forward. People die, lives are lost but nothing stops moving, only their breaths stop but nothing else. So Allie also moves on.

And when the storm seems to have passed, all hell breaks lose. And I have eureka moment that made me scream at 430 in the morning. And in the meantime, Allie cannot believe what transpires in front of her eyes and she begs in vain. And then the ULTIMATE truth comes out and I am left utterly and absolutely speechless.

It's a true measure of an author who can make you fall in love with a character and then make you hate them and vice versa, who can make me laugh, go "OMG seriously" and then literally bawl like a newborn baby or go like "WTF just happened here?" Now that is RJ Lewis for you.

I won't say more just that this is a reallly hard read, it makes you wanna beat the crap out of the bad guys. It literally rips your heart out of your chest, it makes you a blabbering baby. The epilogue and the last chapter absolutely wrecked me. I hope RJ will in the future let two people meet cos I would give my first born child for that to happen.

I have to admit Marko made me nervous...because he's just so immediately trustworthy? Why?!?!? I mean, shit, the H just starts off this book with a new BFF and they're ripping off the mob together. I mean seriously...What. The. Fuck.

The H is kind of a criminal now and keeping secrets from the h. Hmmm...who does that sound like?

The saving grace here...the H seems to be doing it for the money/security and to bring the mob to its knees.

“By meddling, Marko and I were destroying gangs. We were damaging ties and business deals. And it wasn’t long after that something began to dawn on me.
In order to fight the bad, one had to be bad too.”

Yeah, 50% in and the h called it. Too bad the rest of us saw it from the beginning.

51% and I have to admit, I'm not so sure the baby daddy is the villain bro anymore.

Then we meet Ryker again, now free. And oh, the feels!!!

Then more drama...and Matt. Yeah, he was pretty much weirdly scum from the beginning.

And then...just...OMG. Really. Just...OMFG.

And finally...Glad I was wrong about Marko.

PS...And I really want Ryker and Maria's story :)

Against my better judgment, I went ahead and gave this a go. I won't do that again.

The story did get more complex. I actually saw a lot more of Ryker (which I really liked). But that was probably the only thing that I really liked. I guess the ending was OK, too. But it was very predictable. There was some added drama/conflict/action between the two brothers and Boss (also, I always knew Matt was a jerkoff), so that turned out to be somewhat entertaining.

In the end, if you want some mindless/predictable entertainment with a few steamy scenes, I guess the series could work for you. But please, ladies, this was really some Jerry Springer type stuff and I just couldn't get past the ick factor of Allie & Heath.

They were OK as two individuals, but together? Not so much.

After enjoying the first book, I was very excited about this one. The beginning started off pretty slow for me but the pace started picking up soon after.

After the big wtf moment at the 69% mark, I was totally invested and must admit that before that mark, I would have probably given this book 3-3.5 stars instead.

Would HIGHLY recommend this book to any fans of this author or of her Ignite series as there is a pretty cool character crossover interlinking the 2 stories.

I do need to stress to everyone that this is not a story about a love triangle and there is no cheating between the MC's. I'm just stating this as it was a slight concern of mine prior to starting this whole series.

Book one MUST be read before starting this book. HEA at end of story will put a smile on your face and saying: "bout freakin time" and the whole story will have you guessing what the heck will happen next. Thumbs up to the author!!!

Wow, this book was really emotional. Half way through I wanted to throw it against the wall. I needed a box of Kleenex at that point. That god it had such a great ending. Thoroughly enjoyed this set. I enjoyed the second book more than the first but I really liked the story and the suspense of it all.
