Jannus the Halfling is everything a Nephilim shouldn’t be—golden-haired, charming, and a collector of feminine smiles. As the last living descendent of the only pure Nephilim Pair, he’s powerful enough to claim the empty throne. Instead, he crosses into Fetch lands to bring Melek back to seize the crown.
But Melek’s reappearance isn't trusted by all. As the Nephilim descend into civil war, Jann is saved in battle by Diadre—the infuriating, sharp-tongued Captain of the Shadekin assassins—and finds himself reluctantly beholden to a life-debt.
Diadre has spent her life proving she’s just as deadly as any man. The last thing she needs is a cocky, silver-tongued Nephilim shadowing her every move. Yet when she touches him, something divine crackles between them...
Buried in this mission to help Melek and Yilan establish the Nephilim throne, Jann refuses to claim the matebond. His bloodline is every Nephilim like him died before their child reached five years old. If he loves Diadre, if they have a child, his fate is sealed.
But when the Nephilim around him decide if Jann doesn't want her they're happy to take her, Jann will have to defy his curse, his people, and the Fallen themselves to keep her safe. Even if it kills him.
Dive into the next thrilling volume of The Kingdom of the Krow series, where enemies become lovers, curses clash with divine will, and a Halfling must decide if love is worth dying for.

Aimee Lynn was born in Oregon and grew up in New Zealand. She dreamed of being a novelist from the age of seven, but as a Gen-Xer, was informed it wasn’t a realistic career. Instead, she went to college to be a journalist and (very realistically) never completed her degree. It wasn’t until her mid-thirties, after a marriage, a corporate career, and a family, that she rediscovered the joy she’d found in writing fiction. Now, she thanks God for giving her a husband whose love inspires romance, and who isn’t threatened by Jason Momoa.
I’m about 50% through and the sex scenes have been pretty miserable to read, honestly. I swear “my mate” is on each page at least 3 times. Gonna try to continue on for the story to see if it gets better but holy hell it’s rough so far.
*light spoilers below*
Diadre is incredibly disappointing. Went from “I’ve worked really hard to be the warrior I am today” to “my entire life belongs to my mate and that’s my whole purpose and nothing I’ve done on my own matters anymore”. 🙄

🗡 Fated Mates 🗡 Enemies-to-lovers 🗡 Spy Couple! 🗡 Touch her and 💀 Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Book 3 in the Kingdom of the Krow series
No! How can this book end there?! We have been leading up to this moment for the whole series and now I cannot wait for book 4.
I love Dee and Jann, they have such good banter and she does not let an opportunity to rile him up pass her by. When she discovers that he's tickelish and mocks him for an "uncontrolled wing moment" 😂
She is his only safe space where he doesn't have to be the General of Melek's army and can be vulnerable and playful. He in turn is the one man who she doesnt have to make herself smaller for. He encourages her to own her strength and skill as a warrior and leader; even if it terrifies him to watch her do it.
It’s getting so good. Love how Jann & Diadre got their story… definitely worth the read. Another great installment to this series! That ending though?!?! I can not wait tone what happens.
From the title I figured that this story would show more of Jann's value to the story, but this is actually a total shift in POV to Jann and Diadre's mission towards the larger goals as right hands of the crowns. It was fun seeing some side characters get the light. The repetitive nature of aome of the conversations have a level or realism as people often fight the same fights till they learn to have a middle ground together; but as a.reader it can drag out sections of the book at the sacrifice of story.
I really don't even know why I read the book. These FMC and MMC suffer the same same as the other ones. FMC goes from independent, amazing at their jobs to nothing more then an emotional arm candy to the MMC but somehow still trying to pretend their entire characters have been nerfed out of existence
Loved the new twists. In this book, you follow Diadre and Jann. They are trying to help Melek and Yilan put the continent back together and change the way things are now. As I finished the book, another new plot twist is added and has me questioning so many things about these characters.
I love the story can't stop reading it and I would recommend to any body that like these kind of stories. I gave it a 5 star rating because its a great book
This is hard to rate, I nearly DNF at halfway through and had to take a break for a few months before coming back to it. I was excited to follow these characters as based on the previous book it seemed like they would have great chemistry and banter. They did not. Half the book was them fighting repetitive arguments about the same issues, and it got so dull. The plot was lacking, there wasn’t much progress until near the end and there still wasn’t a lot. I love how descriptive and romantic the writing is, which is why I give 2 stars instead of 1, but this book was just not as good as I had hoped for.
The King’s Man was the story I was so hoping we’d get, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Diadre and Jann are hands down my favorite duo, and every moment with them just reinforced why I love them so much. Their dynamic, chemistry, and emotional connection made this one a standout. Now I’m eagerly waiting for the grand finale to see how everything comes together ❤️
