Can you get a highly satisfying and enjoyable steamy romance in just a short 120 pages? In the case of this book; also-fucking-lutely. There's a reason I've read practically every book in Lorelei's backlist and this book is the perfect example why. It's wonderfully smutty but with a great story and fantastic characters. I love this author's dirty talking cowboys, and Wynton Grant was utter perfection.
If you haven't read the rest of the Blacktop Cowboys series, I highly recommend you do simply because it's fantastic. But if you're thinking of starting with this one to get a taste for it, you can easily do that to since it does read well as a standalone. So what does this book have?
1. An awesome heroine that owns her sexuality and isn't ashamed of her sexual history. This is a woman that enjoys sex for sex's sake. How amazingly refreshing and rare to find in most romances these days. I loved Melissa. She's certainly no blushing virgin, but she was never brash. She was such a fun heroine to read about.
2. A hot as sin cowboy. pervy swoon. Gawd but I loved him.
3. Super hot cowboy lovin'. No one writes the sexy times quite like Lorelei James and you'll get no complaints from thispervert reader.
4. A great story. In just a few pages the author managed to pack in a great story. It wasn't just sex and I loved all the secondary characters. Dare I hope that we'll soon be getting a book for Sres and Mick? *waggles brows*
In short, I love it. If you're a fan of this author, this is a no-brainer must read. And if you haven't discovered her yet, this is the perfect book to start with. Short, sexy, and fun. What else can you possibly ask for?

4 'Sidekicks' Stars!
So glad Lorelei continued the stories of this family! I loved Sutton and now it was time for Wyn! Absolutely loved him and Mel's chemistry! The sparks start flying from the beginning and when these two finally accepted their feelings, it was amazing to read it. Kinda missed having an epilogue on this one but still really enjoyed it! Can't wait for Cres' story (love me some MM action!).

Oh wow. Just wow.
This little novella demonstrates perfectly how a talented author can wrap up a sweet romance, smutty hot sex and a nice plot in only a few pages.
I haven’t read much of Lorelei James’ books yet, but let me tell you one thing : Stripped Down took me on a real cowboy binge and boy did I enjoy the ride!
I loved this story SO much that I started book 1, 2 and 3 of the Blacktop Cowboys series right after.
And I truly enjoyed them all.
Knowing Lorelei James is the Queen of smut and wild rides, I already had a few of her books on the side for whenever I’d be in a cowboy mood. Today I’m glad I picked up Stripped Down, it opened a whole new horizon of reads to me! This author has more than 30 books for me to catch up on, all sexy, smutty and entertaining reads!
Back to Stripped Down, if you read this author before, my guess is this one should NOT be missed. Seriously.
Wynton and Melissa finally meet at their friends wedding and the chemistry is instantaneous. We’re literally taken into a wild and free ride, a smoking hot hookup taking place early in the book.
Sparks ignite and their banter alone made the book for me. These 2 wild cards enjoy the same kind of pleasures in life, both are looking for fun without the complications and their laid-back nature makes both of them the perfect match. Not that any of them knows it yet.
I loved everything in this novella, the setting, the hilarious and sexy banter, the melt-your-panties dirty talk, the secondary characters, the minor angst brought up by a tiny secret, the swooning moments… Sigh.
This sexy, fun and emotionally packed novella had everything and left me crave for MORE.
Prepare yourselves, you are in for a hell of a sexy ride!

I didn't find it necessary to change the heroine name to mine because hello the heroines name is Melissa and that me. So it's obvious the heroine is me. Well, except I've never been on the rodeo circuit, and I don't have red hair, I mean I did once a long time ago, oh and I sure haven't banged a hot super man slut that goes by the name Wynton, but does it really matter?! I think not.
I loved the banter between Wynton and Melissa. Both cocky in their own rights and full of steam.
One of the best novellas I've ever read that didn't leave me feeling as if I missed something. Although I could of lived with this being full length.
In the world of hot cowboys and wish it were me heroines, Ms. James is at the top of her game.
As always I can't wait for my next James read!

Stripped Down was eye-opening. Never actually believed people would hook up during a wedding but I'm also not surprised that it happened in this book either. At first, I wasn't a big fan of Melissa and Wyn. I could see the sparks and everything but the first half of this book was just annoying to get through.
Thankfully, it was an audio and I quickly flew through this.
Then came the second part, which was honestly much better. Unfortunately, I was just so annoyed that I couldn't fully appreciate these two and their relationship. I wanted to but I just couldn't. Might get into this series just to see if the rest of the series has likable characters but might not because there are so many books out in the world that I want my hands on.

This novella happens after the sixth book of the Blacktop Cowboys series. Reading this novella really got me interested in the series and hopefully, sooner than later, I will get to them.
But back to the novella, I really liked the way the two characters interacted between each other. Their banter entertained me a lot though I wasn't a fan of their nicknames, but it doesn't change anything really hahaha Wynton and Melissa are both thinking alike when it comes to sex and it was bound to be hot when these two were going to get down to it and I was right.
But more than that, I just enjoyed the evolution of their relationship. As the secret comes out, their relationship takes a whole new turn. Sure, it was predictable, but it was still nice to read about it.
The author's writing is funny and entertaining and if all the characters are as entertaining as these two were, then I know I'm going to get hooked on this series.

I'm sure most people are going to love this story, and the second half was cute; but the overly long first part was zero stars for me. I don't have a problem with hooking up at a wedding; but when Melissa and Wyn tried to outslut each other, and regaled each other with details of all their numerous and varied sexual conquests...well, let's just say it did somewhat less than nothing for me.
Still love this series and LJ, and looking forward to the next book. Also...props to James for a well researched and sensitive handling of Mel's . It made the HEA all the sweeter.

Wynton is a hardworking, sexy cowboy who isn’t looking to settle down. Melissa is a hardworking, sexy cowgirl who is usually happy with a one and done. A match made in Lorelei heaven.
They both handle their situations in different ways. Not knowing they need each others support, they come through strong and together… forever.
Lorelei has out done herself with Stripped Down. Not only does she write hot sexy cowboys, she writes the cowboy way of life accurately. I always feel as though I am in Miss James’ stories along with her characters. Stripped Down is no exception.

Oooh I really liked this story, the banter and the no judgment about each other’s pasts was really nice. No one got jealous because they both had lives before each other.
I do love with a perpetually single man falls and falls hard.
Melissa is pretty much an open book but with her health that is a different story. Being that her diagnoses was also kind of new for her I can understand why she thought she needed to hide it.
This love story was just sweet and fit well with the rest of this series. I can’t wait to keep going.
Really enjoy Scarlet’s narration she can sure do a male voice shivers.

Love Love LOVED this novella! STRIPPED DOWN was an all around SEXY good time! Steamy, sexual, and plenty emotional, this little gem of a book will bring a huge smile to your face, a blush to your cheeks, and a heaviness to your heart. BIG things come in this sexy little package!
OMG! There is plenty of dirty talk right off the bat. Lorelei James wastes NO time at all. I could NOT stop smiling the entire time. I adored this premise...best man hooks up with maid of honor. I'm a big fan of the 1001 Dark Nights Series; they're short and sweet treats with romance, erotica, and usually a very good storyline that keeps me interested and wanting to read more of them.
That being said, this one just didn't leave as big of an impact on me as others have! It was good, to me, but not great, and was fairly "meh". I have a few ideas as to why that is though.
First, this is a western romance. I'm not a big western romance fan in general, I don't read a lot of those books. So this one has a lot of ranch terms, cowboys, horseback riding lingo, the works. It really just didn't stick with me as it probably would with others, and was a bit confusing for someone who doesn't read the genre. It bogged me down and hindered my visualization of the novel a good deal.
I wasn't a big fan of Wyn, for that matter, either, our hero. He's not necessarily a bad guy, but his language (his particular swear words or lingo, his "my woman" type of mentality) drew me away from really liking him. I think that again ties into the genre and just me not really liking his character. He's not a bad guy, just...meh. He's not my favorite hero of this novella group by far.
I did appreciate our heroine Melissa--she's feisty, not afraid to get down with the guys, and doesn't have a filter, and is talented on horse and in the kitchen. I really liked her! James also handled her medical issues very welly and very poignantly and I appreciated that.
The novel is DEFINITELY sexy and I appreciated that! It was what I'd come to expect from 1001 Nights and overall, I would give a thumbs up to the sexy factor. I also thought James' writing overall was very good. Many of the characters had a funny voice, and the book overall was fairly witty.
So I think, in general, why I didn't connect with this as much was because it was a genre I'm not usually reading. I'm tempted to read other western romances to see if maybe I could get into the genre, but I'd probably look up the best of the best to maybe give them a try. Overall, not a bad book, and if you love westerns and cowboys, this one's for you. It's just not my cup of tea.

Once again, I have to ask myself, what the hell was I thinking? Sure, I'm kind of struggling to find something to read that I'm actually going to enjoy, and sure I kind of figured that I'd pull out LJ for the second time this week in the hope that she'll redeem herself in my eyes. But the reality is that I seriously loathed this book!!!
Mel was kinda awesome and balls to the wall in Ropped In, in a way that LJ can make cowgirls who have a bit of a wild streak and aren't afraid of their own sexuality. But in this book...again, I'm just not buying what LJ's putting down.
The insta-love between Wyn and Mel just wasn't believable. Sure the chemistry was hot...I wouldn't call it off the charts, it was two people looking to hook up for the sake of scratching an itch. But the stupid 'pet names' that they gave each other just made me cringe, rather than endearing any kind of emotions of the heartfelt variety. It was cliche and just plain aggravating. As someone who isn't ashamed of her sexual history, I have to say that if anyone called me a nickname that alluded to being a whore, a slut or the like, I'd probably punch them in the face rather than giggle and chuckle like Mel did.
I'm going to hold out hope that LJ's BTC release later this year has an actual storyline that I can get behind and that the chemistry, characters and hell even the sex is more believable and moving than this was. Cause like I said in my review of Roped In, if it's not, I'm just not going to be laying down my cold cash for it anymore. Come on LJ, give us some of that epicness that you showed us in All Jacked Up. Bring back the kickass, balls to the wall chick and the alpha male that will protect her and make her vulnerable all in one look. Give us explosive, ball emptying sex on the closest surface and most of all, play our heartstrings as you show us that a wild child has more to her than being able to start a bar fight and drink most males under the table. I'm begging you, please.
Mel was kinda awesome and balls to the wall in Ropped In, in a way that LJ can make cowgirls who have a bit of a wild streak and aren't afraid of their own sexuality. But in this book...again, I'm just not buying what LJ's putting down.
The insta-love between Wyn and Mel just wasn't believable. Sure the chemistry was hot...I wouldn't call it off the charts, it was two people looking to hook up for the sake of scratching an itch. But the stupid 'pet names' that they gave each other just made me cringe, rather than endearing any kind of emotions of the heartfelt variety. It was cliche and just plain aggravating. As someone who isn't ashamed of her sexual history, I have to say that if anyone called me a nickname that alluded to being a whore, a slut or the like, I'd probably punch them in the face rather than giggle and chuckle like Mel did.

Let there be HOT cowboys! This short story reminded me of everything I love about reading a Lorelei James book. It’s sweet and sexy perfection.
STRIPPED DOWN follows after ROPED IN. This is Sutton’s brother Wynton’s story and London’s best friend Melissa. With Sutton and London’s wedding in full swing, there’s no better idea than for the best man and the maid of honor to hook up. Especially being they are both as a bit of sluts. The chemistry is instant, sparks fly right off the bat and their banter is witty, light, fun, sexy and straight to the point. One of my favorite things about these two is that they’re pretty straight forward about their feelings and expectations from the get-go.
But as much as STRIPPED DOWN is full of sexy goodness, because let’s face it this is a Lorelei James book and she does that VERY well, it is also deeply emotional. Both Wyn and Mel are dealing with things that go deeper than their next hook up. And they are both left to face those realities. Sometimes with the help of one another, and sometimes apart.
You will fall in love with these two! If ever there were two characters that fit each other perfectly, it’s Melissa and Wynton. This is a must read for fans of Ms. James, and even though not quite as hot as a Blacktop Cowboy I would expect, this book delivered on everything I was looking for. It made me laugh, made me smile, made me swoon, made me sigh. And I can’t wait for more!!

This one really started out with a bang. I really loved the by-play between Melissa and Wynton. Neither seemed to take themselves too seriously and I really liked that neither was embarrassed that they liked sex and didn't care who knew it. It was fun how they would compare general stories and find out how much they had in common.
I didn't like the secret that Melissa was hiding, knew that it would come back to bit her and in a way that would really hurt her. I was glad that Wynton's brother was there to talk him down and not yell at Melissa. By being calm and talking about things it allowed the two of them to have a future.

This was a quick read that started out dirty & naughty that turned into a sweet and loving story. Wyn and Melissa have wonderful little nicknames for each other that just cracked me up!!! These two are two peas in a pod and make a perfect couple. Ms. James packs a lot into a very short story all while making you feel like you are reading a full length novella.

Enjoyed the story but Mel's paranoia was annoying. I really enjoyed the chemistry between them and the peek into the next brother's story. Looking forward to it.

Lorelei James’ Blacktop Cowboys & Rough Rider series are two of my favorite contemporary romance/erotica western series. Ever since picking up my first Rough Rider novel I was hooked. She has a way of bringing the characters to life that I found myself so invested in them and their stories that I actually considered visiting Wyoming just to see if these amazing people really existed and of course she writes some of the steamiest, I need a cold shower sex scenes around and Stripped Down is no different.
From the first page I was hooked and liked both Wyn and Mel right off the bat, something that doesn’t always happen. What I loved about both of them was their blunt honesty about who they are and their sexuality. There was no posturing or bullshitting from either of them, at least when it came to the fact that they were attracted to each other. They are both so comfortable in their own skins that there is no reason for it. The chemistry between them is hot from the start and as the story progresses I could actually see just how well suited they were together, in every way. And yes, the sex is hot!
The writing, as always, was well done and engaging and though I did figure out what was going to happen once we learned what Mel’s big “secret” was, it was the aftermath that surprised me a little and I loved how it all turned out. Though I will admit that I am a little disappointed that we don’t get to hear about the Muddy Gap crew, it was fun to catch up with Sutton and London and get to learn a little more about Cres, who I hope will get his own story down the road???
The Bottom Line: Another great story by one of my favorite authors!

Wynton Grant is best man for Sutton Grant who we met in Roped In. Melissa Lockhart is maid of honor to Sutton's bride, London Gradsky. After some intense flirting at the reception, Wyn and Mel hook up for what each thought would be a one and done encounter. But fate changes things. A medical emergency leaves Wyn in need of someone to help out at the ranch. Mel is just the woman for the job but she has a secret she's not ready to share. What follows is a steamy, passionate story as Wyn and Mel discover they enjoy spending time together and not just between the sheets. Like everything Lorelei James writes, I loved this novella. The dialogue is sexy and fun. Wyn and Mel are such a perfect couple and I loved the whole Grant family. Especially Cres! Can't wait for his story! Though part of a series, Stripped Down can be read as a stand alone. I was lucky enough to be given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. What a treat! Lorelei James never disappoints!

WOW - LOVED this novella!!! This was actually my first foray into cowboy romance and I was surprised at just how much I enjoyed it. Who knew?!

The two are instantly attracted to each other and both assume their hook-up at the wedding will be a one-night stand. Little do they know that an emergency in Wynton's family will turn things upside down and that Melissa will be helping out on the ranch for a few weeks. Melissa also has a secret of her own that comes to light and Wynton realizes how strong his feelings are for her. Stripped Down may be a novella, but there is plenty of story packed into the pages! Wynton and Melissa are SO entertaining and fun to read about. Not only is there sizzling hot chemistry and sweet romance, but the banter between the two of them is hysterical! Seriously, I laughed out loud at the exploits of their alter-egos. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read this book and will definitely go back to start this series from the beginning.

Sexy ,fun, fast paced romp in the adventures of Amazing Slut-Girl and Super Man-Slut. Wynton and Melissa were perfectly paired and equally matched. What started out as a wedding hook-up turned into a sweet romance. Over a period of a month a great friendship and an ever better partnership develops between the pair when Melissa comes Wynton's aid at the ranch. Her horsewoman skills are going to help him out and they get to spend their nights tearing up the sheets. Melissa has a secret that she's keeping from him and when it all comes to pass, his reaction is beyond amazing. I do love a naughty cowboy(and girl) romance with that something extra. Another winner in my book!

I really enjoyed this novella in the 1001 Dark Nights series. This is from Lorelei James’ Blacktop Cowboy series. I had not read any other books in the series, but followed the story line with ease. The lead characters meet at Wyn’s brother’s wedding. Melissa is the Maid-of-Honor and Wyn in the best man. Both have similar personalities and s3xual adventures.
I loved the humor the author brought to the story. They affectionately call each other Super Man-Slut and Amazing Slut-Girl. For a novella, Wyn and Melissa are well fleshed out as characters. They click immediately and after spending a short 3 weeks together, they are willing to give up their Super Slut ways.
Great read. No need to read the rest of the series to enjoy this story. I will be sure to check out the rest of the cowboys in this series!

Spoiler Ahead This was book 6.6 in the "Blacktop Cowboy" and I love reading this series so much that I didn't realize that I skipped a few books. Wynton Grant and Melissa Lockhart hook up after playing a game at truth or dare and what a hook up it was. They both carried baggage of their own and they both had given up on the whole marriage thing and neither one believed that they would find love. This was a really hot read with a lot of hot dirty talk and sexy scenes. These two have really good chemistry. I love reading this series. This book was well written like the rest of the books in this series. with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading more books in this series.

Mel meets Wyn at her best friend's wedding and the sparks fly from the moment they lay eyes on each other. They tease each other during the wedding and then when Wyn needs help on his ranch, Mel is volunteered by her best friend to help Wyn out. She agree to stay for 3 weeks but gets more than she bargained for in the process.
I really liked this quick, sexy read. Mel and Wyn are both certified sluts so they feel they are a good match for each other and it turns out that they are, in the bedroom and out. I loved that the characters didn't hide their pasts in this story - they both like to have sex, and had a past that reflected that. They weren't ashamed, but embraced their love of life and fun times. They even had nicknames for each other that reflected this fact
I loved that the characters ended up with each other almost by accident, but they accepted that as fact, and didn't overthink or worry about it. They fit and that was that, though they didn't have flowy declarations, it was there in their actions
I even understand, partially, why the secrets kept were kept. When everything did come out in the open, I loved the way everything was handled for both sides.
Oh, and this book is super-duper, extraordinarily hot - the chemistry leaps off the pages!!

When the hot, hard and sexy cowboy Wynton meets his sexual match at his brother's wedding the bride and groom aren't the only couple turning their sparks into fire in the ready room. Wynton proves why he's the BEST MAN for the Maid of Honor Melissa and just once isn't going to be nearly enough for these two.
The banter between Wynton and Melissa is more fun than anything I have gotten to read in a long time. This may have been a Blacktop Cowboys Novella but wow, does it pack a punch...and a whole lotta heat, steamy, up against a wall (literally) heat!
