Super cute insta love story. I really enjoyed this, I gotta read more from this series. I liked how Jax was so willing to support Lafayette through her grief. The groveling was gooood 🤭🤭
Hmmm⁉️…Although I appreciated the Author A. Blossom’s contribution to this sports series ”One Last Puck BLP Sports Series - Book 10” book wasn’t entertaining but was a disappointment. More so, another opportunity to bring context to the NHL or its’ disparities, misrepresentation & or underrepresentation of people of color (about twenty five player & no head coaches) to the sport was (again) squandered🤦🏾♀️🥴. Yet just because there’s mention of the words “sports”, “Hockey” & the “Stanley Cup” this book wasn’t about the game of hockey, the sport or even love/romance‼️Rather a platform of male domination, chauvinism, misogyny, objectification, slander & deception of the social butterfly, aspiring sports journalist Lafayette, who clearly demonstrated trauma bond characteristics or at minimum poor judgement but no “black” man interceded on her (Faye’s) behalf‼️…And that little tiff between Jax & Liam (after the game) was typical male aggression, that 🤬 don’t count as defense of Lafayette. Nevertheless, how was this one night encounter, three/four months later or a college flashback constitute a current relationship between Jaxton & Lafayette or a reflection of urban/black/nubian love⁉️ OK, if you say so🥴🤷🏾♀️‼️I’m curious, as a self proclaimed “ambassador of Black love stories, it gives me great pleasure to provide love stories regardless of the niche. …urban romance, contemporary romance, erotica, women’s fiction…” what the difference between these BLP genres🤔⁉️This inquisitive mind needs to know. …It about that time for a BLP literary sabbatical‼️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **My First Hockey Romance—and I’m Obsessed!** 🏒💋
“One Last Puck” by A. Blossom completely surprised me in the best way. I went in not knowing what to expect (this was my *first* ever hockey romance), and whew—Jaxton Saint made me a believer real quick.
Lafayette is everything I love in a heroine: ambitious, sharp, and not here for the BS. Her chemistry with Jaxton? Instant. Electric. And watching this emotionally unavailable goalie slowly fall for the one woman who challenges him at every turn? Addictive.
The banter, the spice (whew 😮💨), the emotional depth—it all hit.
If you’re new to the hockey romance world like I was, this is the perfect gateway. “One Last Puck” is sexy, swoony, and full of heart. A total 5-star read. I’m already itching to dive into more of A. Blossom’s books!
Faye was dealing with her grief the absolute wrong way, but I am almost proud that she knew and acknowledged her wrongdoings - even if she still did it. Accountability is half the battle.
Jax had me from the moment he paid to save her seat. His antics had me smiling and rubbing my feet together simultaneously. Although he partook in something very childish with his teammates regarding Faye, I believed his reasoning and stood beside him. (insert giggle)
This was a short and cute novella with several laugh out loud moments as well as a few swoon-worthy moments and a lot of fan myself off moments too. I read it in one sitting and it held my interest from start to finish. There were several grammatical things that should have been flushed out in editing, but they didn't IRK my nerves too bad
Book 10 of the BLP Sports Series was everything I wanted and so much more. I think this is my second sports romance that A. Blossom penned and I’m definitely a fan of her work!!
Faye and Jax’s love story was excellently written. Jax knew she was his the first time he saw her podcast and Faye fought it tooth and nail because she had given up on love. After all the drama, stubbornness, and grief, love definitely wins in the end.
So if you love sports romance then this book is a must read!
Okay! First off, the hockey theme itself set it up there for me! Okay secondly, Jax & Faye were something else. He filled up an empty space for her & she made him grow up! It’s something about that secret crush you wouldn’t think you’d have that makes the spiciness extra hot! Those scenes were done in true A. Blossom 🌸 style & the visuals were GIVING!!!! Liam did what I thought he would! I’m even more glad to see that she really put in the work to better herself! This was MY first read of the group collab & you did not disappoint!!!!
This is my first time reading a book by this author, and I enjoyed it. What starts off as a chance meeting soon changes to a hidden agenda. However, nothing can beat the chemistry and connection that Lafayette and Jaxton developed, even when things go sideway. However, when fate presents an opportunity to right wrongs, Jax doesn't hesitate to go after his heart. Jax and Faye learns that when love calls, you hit the puck as hard as you can to score the goal you want.
This quick hockey romance was so enjoyable to read. Jaxton already had a crush on Faye, but once he had a "one-night stand" with her, he knew that it was more than that. Faye was still going through the grieving process and wasn't looking for more. The way that leaned into each other once they got over their conflict was amazing. The spice, banter and growth on both of their parts made this a good book that I recommend you read.
A quick Novella about a hockey star and a sports podcaster. They met at a gala and got straight to it. She had no idea that man had been plotting on her. He also made a silly bet that he shouldn't have made. One thing about this author is that she will write about a MMC who is delusional and planning the wedding after meeting the FMC for first time. I eat that up every time because I know some shenanigans will be afoot.
This was just okay to me. It was a sports romance but not so heavy on the sports on page and focused more on the one night stand between Jax and Faye. The story does end with a happily ever after but I would have liked to have seen more of Jax and Faye together and see his pursuit of her.
4.5 Nice quick read with the right amount of drama and plot; a great palate cleanser and reading reset. Jax and Faye had a nice connection and a one-night stand turned into forever for them. Jax was not playing when it came to Faye and had a lot of work to do to redeem himself from the bet; liked that Faye was able to work on herself and address her issues.
This quick read have me everything I wanted in this final book of the sports series. There was undeniable chemistry, fun, passion, some conflict, and that happily ever after all wrapped in a story about overcoming grief, leaning into success and celebrating wins. Bravo!
I can read this after reading Unexpected Pass. I loved the theme of the book and thought it would be equally amazing. The book has a great start but I felt we could have gotten more of a story. Everything felt sped up where I felt we could have gotten more of a story line of their time apart. As well as more of a story on them dating. Instead it stuck on being a one night stand.
Loved this cute short story! Faye was an upcoming sports reporter who was dealing with grief, but when famous hockey player Jax came along something shifted between the two of them. Jax was not letting up on Faye, and Faye was trying her best to fight the feeling! Glad the two got their happy ending! 🔥
I just recently got into this author’s catalog and listen I’ve had time in her books. This was a quick read and although I wished for more of Faye and Jaxston’s love story it was a great story from beginning to end. Ladies add Ms. Blossom to you TBR, you won’t be disappointed!
LaFayette met Jax while at an awards show grieving, ehilehe had a bet going with his teammates. They ended up hooking up but for him it was love, for her just trying to live in the moment while grieving. What started off as a bet and a one night stand turned into a proposal and a happy ending. Loved it!
Blossom has a way of just making you fall in love with her characters, even when you’re not reading them you’re thinking about them and I feel like they’re my actual friends. These two were adorable. The story plays out quickly, no drawn out obstacles where you’re yelling at the book to make it stop. Short, sweet and straight to the puck. Loved it!
I loved everything about this. The smut, the plot everything. Its a short hocky x journalist Romance & I ate it up 🥴. Faye was being confident & knew what she wanted from the jump. Jax was strong & again knew what he wanted & he got it! I loved their connection. I loved their personalities.
A. Blossom is an amazing author. I love the Black Love in her books 🤎.
If get your girl was a person... Paxton was not playing when it came to Lafayette. From the personal offer to the chase. It was all about owning the heart of who you declared was your soul mate.
Short but engaging from the beginning. Faye is so relatable and we meet her in a moment of vulnerability. Jax comes in strong as a protector. Their chemistry was amazing from the beginning but that pesky bet could do damage!
Such a cute story. Lafayette had ruled out love. Jaxson was a star hockey player and had his eyes set on her. Didn’t come without drama but Jaxson quickly made up for it. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love a woman being loved on by a man that support HER dreams. This one has me invested within the first two minutes! You can’t help but root for Jax! He loves Faye down!
Jaxston knew that he wanted Lafayette, but he should have been honest from the beginning! Their chemistry was undeniable and she felt the same. They both just had some past trauma to heal from. Everyone got what they wanted their happiness was beautiful. Awesome read.
First time reading a book by this author! Really enjoyed the story the drama and the makeup😍😃Jax was determined from jump and didn't let up! Good read! I will seek out more books from this author😎
A super quick, cute, and fast paced read. You’ll enjoy if you love a fast paced insta love kind of story. It was also nice to see Kellon from Unexpected Pass. That’s bae fr🤣
I love this book so much!!! It was simple! Easy drama! Quick move! Loved the Cameo from Kellon Barnes!!! That’s Bae!! A.B! You did your thang!! As always!
I love A. Blossom, but I just couldn’t connect with this book. It was very predictable. This is the first book I’ve read by her that I wouldn’t recommend.
