Seventeen-year-old Denny’s life becomes complicated when she falls in love with her dad’s new roping partner. Matters get even more complicated when her father has a crippling accident and her long-absent mother rejoins the family to care for him. “Hall offers a brilliant portrait of the games adults play, games in which Denny is reasonably sure she won’t take part. . . . The story unfolds as an earthy, idiosyncratic surprise.”-- Kirkus Reviews
Lynn Hall was the author of over fifty novels for juvenile and young adult readers, as well as over two dozen novels for younger readers. Her books focus on coming-of-age stories featuring dogs and horses.
When the protagonist is called a "spoiled rich bitch" it does sum up her personality in many scenes in the book. Both she and her daughter are drama queens. The daughter being called a "spoiled brat" also fits.Makes me wish I could ride again and get better acquainted with horses.
