The ritual left Gwynne stronger, more powerful. Improved, or so the alphas tell her. But now that she's back in her own time, she's confronted with a new future and a destiny unlike anything she'd imagined for herself.
Will she find her way back to them? Will she ever have the two gorgeous men in her bed again?
The story continues as Gwynne works her way towards the answers she's been seeking.
Trial by Fire is approximately 23,500 words long, the third book in the Sought by the Alphas serial. Part four is due in early January 2015.
Due to adult content, this book is not recommended for readers under 18 years old.
Ha, I would have burned his ass too. Like seriously, why would you not tell her this could happen before tag teaming her? I had a feeling she was a damn dragon/drake whatever. The lady of the sea is her mother.
I recommend only reading as a box set if you plan on reading these are all little novellas with cliffhangers and the end of everyone. I frankly did not like the ending with the children it left only unanswered questions and I felt as though I read this entire series and it’s not even finished. Many plot gaps and changes as to actual characters was less then desirable. I can only guess maybe this is authors first set of novella. Great potential however many errors in grammar, plot, characters development and so many issues however there is some potential with author. My biggest complaint no actual ending in this series unanswered questions too many in fact and selling each novella separately is major turnoff. The series is even complete. I wouldn’t recommend however may in future try author again if indeed this is a new author starting out. Disappointing
Carina continues the story of Gwynne and her two alphas with book 3. Gwynne is still having a hard time coming to grips with the changes in her life. She could almost be alright with the time travel, but to actual be able to change into a monstrous animal is a bit much to handle. Her Alpha's co-alpha's to each other are cousins, most of the time things seem well. Recently both Rauth and Lachlan start bumping heads. Well on top of them having issue among themselves, Gwynne isn't happy it seems like she is the last to know anything, she has many questions and not enough answers. More answers pop up when Gwynne meets a Lady in Black and still not answers. Gwynne almost sets Lachlan on fire in a fit of temper, which she needs to learn to control but she also isn't close to her animal to be able to be in tuned with it. A situation rises where she just may have to rely on her drake for help. As Rauth had mentioned even though she has them as protectors, she will always have protector to call on. I loved it, the story as well as the characters. I even had to laugh at Gwynne she fell right into the Queens role. Taking charge and getting things done she needed...well for the most part. Even her males knew not to push too much. I am eager to see where the story takes us in the next book, its not a bad cliff hanger but yep there is one. A bit of mystery, a bit of fighting a bit of passion. Even Rauth melts a bit. Enjoy
WHERE IS THE NEXT ONE..I CAN NOT WAIT..READ IN ORDER BUT YOU DO WANT TO READ !!!!, December 7, 2014
I love this and I have been lucky enough to read all three in order.Gwynne has been lied to over so much and more lies are coming. Why couldn't her alphas tell her the truth about what all could happen in the ritual? Rauth and Lachlan just don't seam to be able to tell the truth from one lie to the next, yes they maybe white lies or lie by omission. Just as you forgive one, they hid something else, though after the ritual finally working you would think they would watch lying to her. This starts with Gwynne and Lachlan out and the affect of the ritual surfaces and she is gone. he runs back to tell Rauth, then time travels to find her. He has to face her and someone who followed and she killed, she sends him back though time. he tells Rauth where he thinks she will go and even though he don't like to time travel, he does to face her and ask her to come home. Now there is The Lady Of The Sea,another secret not really being told Yet I have an ideal,But if I am right why can't Lachlan tell her he knows her and who she is? Now the Black Plague has come to the castle. But the queen Gwynne will do all she can to help even asking for the help of The Lady. Why does The Lady fill she must lie? Is Gwyn pregnant? Wish alpha is the father? Will it make a difference? Will she live though it if she is? There is lots of things I am not even going to hint at. Read this great book, you won't be sorry.
This is the third book of Sought by the Alphas. They must be read in order (Encounters, Rituals) for the story line to make sense and not have any spoilers. This books starts with Lachlan rushing to Rauth to tell him that Gwynne has disappeared before his eyes. They are both concerned about her new abilities. Lachlan is concerned because she does not know what is happening to herself. She went to 2014 without a portal and had a partial change. When Lachlan shows up, he is excited to see that she is well. Gwynne is angry because she thought Lachland and Rauth knew what was happening to her. They were not sure what abilities she might have and it seems she has more than they expected. She is stronger and able to time travel without a portal. She can shift into a drake also known as a dragon. Gwynne is so angry with Lachlan that she changes into a drake and shoots fire toward him. Did he get away fast enough or did he get roasted? There is a fourth book called Kinship. Not sure if it is the last one.
I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Carina Wilder. This is #3 of the Sought by the Alphas series by the author.
Lachln watched as Gwynne disappeared in a flash. He could only take a guess as to where she went and how she was. Gwynne now had her own deor and she was shocked at what it was.
The characters of Gwynne, Rauth and Lachlan are great characters and their interaction with each other and others was great. The author created a smooth flowing story line.
This is for mature paranormal romance readers because of sexual content. This is #3 of the series by the author and it is best to read the other books first as this book starts where book 2 leaves off.
This is a review for Rituals, Trial by fire, Kinship and Dragon queen. These are parts 2-5 in the sought by the alphas serial. I did like the idea behind this I just did not like Rauth. He was a complete jerk for all of the series. He just did not have many redeeming qualities. I am not sure if it was the writing style or what but just did not love it. I just finished them because I could read them for free via Amazon Unlimited (totally worth it by the way) and I wanted to know what happened. Thinking back there is one thing that I think the author should have incorporated. I really would have liked the trio to have some kind of mating mark or something. I mean if you are going to call their joining a "Ritual" I think they need some kind of mating mark.
Gwynne has finally accepted that she is a mighty drako (dragon) shifter and has embraced her role as cwen (queen) of Dundern.
Gwynne, Lachlan and Rauth are finally at ease with each and couldn't be happier. But an awful disease has befallen the humans at the castle and Gwynne has sought the help of the Lady of the Sea. Will she help them in time?
Who is this mysterious woman dressed in black and veiled, why does she know so much about Gwynne. She is no stranger to Lachlan though and she gives him the greatest of news..
I can't wait for the next book!
This serial is very mysterious, magical and full of passion.
Another stunning addition to this amazing series. Gwynne is struggling to accept that she is now not only a shifter but the most powerful shifter ever. Not only that but her alphas are not getting nailing so well. Then topping it all off is the humans of their castle have been infected with the plague. Gwynne encounters a mysterious lady in black as she searches for a cure for the humans. Can she restore the balance in their lives and uncover so of the lady in black's secrets. Another must read by Carina Wilder. I will be biting my nails in anticipation for the next installment.
I was givn this arc by the author for an honest review.
Despite the fact that i really do not like this back and forth on the eras and i think that the author has not succedded in the transition between eras i do enjoy the story and how it is going and it intruiges me to see what will happen. I can't say that for me this book is fast paced but it has an intresting story with lots of hot sexy scenes between Gwenny and the Alphas. I hate cliffhangers and sometimes i feel like someone is pulling a tooth out... i just want it out already!
I like this one the best so far because we get to see Gwen come into her own as both a person, a mate, and something else. I feel for Gwen, I feel just as lied to as she was. It seems the Alpha's want something from her, something beyond her body and her love - but what could that be? I have a guess though I won't spoil it for you! Keep in mind you should read these from the beginning. There's also the question of who the Lady from the Sea is, and I have a guess on that one as well. With all this time jumping we will just have to see how everything plays out in the end.
Was I the only one screaming at there Kindel saying Noooooo it can't be over I have so many questions who's the lady in black and why she keeping her identity a secret. Why didn't Lachlan let Gwynne know that he knew who she was already. The whole suspense of not knowing is killing me can't wait till the next book is out.
Kindle Unlimited. This book is a cliffhanger. Things keep changing and the plot thickens. Some questions are answered but more come to light. Her mates seem at odds - each having different feelings about what's happening. Cannot wait to see what happens.
I LOVED THIS BOOK AND SERIES!! I can't wait for more. One of my favorite series of all time. I love how this author writes she is now on my favorite authors list. Keep them coming please Carina Wilder.
Gwynne is going through lots of unfamiliar changes. With changes come revelations from Lachlan and Rauth. When plague strikes the castle, only modern medicine can help. Lots of yummy sexual content and menage scenes.
The guys are holding things back fro her. Gywnne find she had a power and lochlan has to get routh to help. Gywnne find things out quick good book. Quick and another cliff hanger. Love and hate when she does that good one Carina.
I really am enjoying this series. I so love the main character, Gwynne. There is so much mystery surrounding her that she doesn't know, but others do. This is a story that others will enjoy. I do recommend this read after reading books 1 & 2.
This story is a strange one. I have my theories of the lady of the sea though. I will see this series to the end but not as enthusiastically as some others I have read. Happy reading everyone.
Carina has done it again. Pulled me into the story with realistic descriptions to make me believe I was there. It does have a cleverly written cliffhanger. I can't wait for the next book!
