They sealed their fate, but the war had already begun.
Larrakiel is burning once more.
When their worlds catch alight again, Elody and Christopher have no other option but to burn brighter than the fire threatening to consume them. With magic spiralling out of control, new enemies revealing themselves, and generation-old truths floating to the surface, it is time to settle the score once and for all.
But how does one fight an enemy when they don't know their identity? How does one heal from an injury that no one has seen before? Is it truly possible to put the past behind you when it keeps coming back to haunt you? This is Book 4, the last instalment of the Sincere Shadows series. If you haven’t read Sun Blessed, Shadowless or Star Crossed yet, head there first.
This series is 18+ and contains mature and dark themes. For further details, a full list of content warnings can be found at the start of each book, as well as on Daisy Florence's website.
Daisy Florence is a writer of dark fantasy and romance. She's a sucker for powerful women, feminine rage, and the dark and mysterious.
After graduating with a degree in Forensic Psychology, she moved home and fell hard and fast back into the bookish world, whilst also dipping her toes into the entertainment industry from time to time. She now lives in the UK just south of London with her mum, sibling, and doggos. Most days you can find her binging books, overstaying her welcome in a too-hot bubble bath, searching for a horror movie to watch, planning her next tattoo, or fast asleep in her comfy bed with about three hundred blankets and pillows surrounding her.

ARC review I have been lucky enough to ARC read the entire of Daisy Florence's debut series Sincere Shadows. As with the previous 3 this book did not disappoint! It was rollercoaster of twists and emotions.
Throughout the entire series we have watched Elody (FMC) progress from just an immortal queen with a burning rage to annihilate a kingdom for the genocide of her family and Larrikeil her kingdom and develop into the immortal queen who is not just this rage monster but has the kindness and generosity no one has ever seen before. Her love for nature, people, life and eventually herself allows her to finally develop this soul deep relationship that can never be broken and is her saving grace.
Christopher (MMC) we had so much hope for you throughout the series for you to flourish into something we could depend on. You little king, YOU DID IT!!!! Once truly obnoxious and rage inducing with your ignorance have become one of the most lovable characters in this series your development is so profound throughout this and it just keeps going.
The spice in this series just get hotter and hotter! If you want sweltering spice You will find it here! It gets down and dirty literally and metaphorically. 🥵 Pack ice, a fan and cool drink you are going to need it.
The world building I cannot comment on this enough, book 1 does most of the world building for us but there are details added constantly and the descriptions are so vivid you could believe these kingdoms to be real.
The prologue in each book I have always said held key points to the story to come and it absolutely did. It never reveals the entirety of the story which will still have you on an emotional rollercoaster with its plot twists and the plot is twisty. However it does give you something's to be mindful of as you progress. I still never guessed the true ending and I thought I was pretty darn sure.
Daisy I am so glad I got experience this world with you and I hope I can experience some of your other books in the future. I cannot express how much I have fallen in love with your characters from the Sincere Shadows series. I cannot wait to see what you come up with next.
I was so anxious reading this book, the last book in this series 🥲but there were tears, laughter, and a lot of heartache. I absolutely adore this whole series and will definitely be rereading, I loved the ending with all the different povs it gave me such an insight to how everyone was feeling, even with a blurry screen 🥲🤣 thank you Daisy for this arc opportunities, I will definitely be telling everyone about you and this series. ❤️
OH MY GODDDDD!! Never in my life have I been so utterly in awe of an author's mind, but after reading this series, I can easily (easily) tell you that Daisy Florence is a freaking genius.
I've been reading Daisy's books as her editor/proofreader since Sun Blessed, the first book in this series, and from the beginning I've known how incredible this story would be. Chris and Elody's story is anything but simple. There's ups, downs, a bit of acid rain and a lot of shadowy darkness. Magic encompasses the story in a way that has you reeling for more, and the entirety of the story has you on the edge of your seat, itching for Chris and Elody to just keep going!!
After reading the final installment of this series, all I can say is wow. Daisy, I don't know you did it, but these books have blown my freaking mind. I've never read a series that's so intricately woven together. Throughout all four books, Daisy was dropping major easter eggs that I completely looked over as a reader and I had no idea they were important tidbits of information until book 4. It was like every single sentence was a crucial piece of the puzzle that I'd yet to solve.
Book 4 had my brain scattering and running around like my head was on fire but in the best way possible. Jaw dropped, head in hands, eyes glued to my screen, I couldn't get enough.
I can't believe I'm saying goodbye to Chris and Elody. They've been such a huge part of my reading journey, especially in 2025, and it's so bittersweet to be saying goodbye to two characters and a world that's truly taken over my mind.
I can't wait for you guys to get your hands on this book and freak out as much as I am. For reference, I've only JUST finished the book and I doubt I'll ever get it out of my mind.
Absolutely amazing book, I could not put it down daisy Florence did it again. This is book 4 in the Sincere shadow series, and it was amazing. I love how it was well written and the characters were beautifully portrayed. I am excited to see how this series continues.
