I write stories for readers who crave the edge—action-packed, emotionally raw, and a little bit unhinged. My worlds are built on the bones of ancient magic, fractured loyalties, and wild, impossible love. Humor, sarcasm, heartbreak, and heat? You’ll find it all in my pages. If you want romance that bites back and leaves you breathless, I’m your author. Welcome to the wild side.

I received Moonfire by Zoey Frost as an ARC and was immediately intrigued by the world and characters. While the story had strong moments and compelling scenes, I did find myself a bit lost at times. There were references and developments that felt like they carried more weight than I could grasp, which made me feel like I was missing context.

That said, I still enjoyed the story and the writing. Zoey Frost has a unique style, and there’s definitely something magnetic about the way she builds tension and emotion. I think I would have connected even more deeply if I had read the previous books in the series first.

Recommendation: Start this series from the beginning for the full experience. Moonfire is a solid addition, but definitely best enjoyed in order.

Moonfire is the second instalment in the Moonbound Saga by Zoey Frost.

I do enjoy Zoey’s writing style, and she really can definitely weave a tale. You can feel the build-up of tension and emotions from her characters in the book.

The book starts with an inquisitive Ivy is at the Cresent Pack’s eastern border where she is checking on the stones rather than trust the judge of the scouts and because of the blood magic that courses through her she feels the magic from the stones.

Upon further inspection Ivy traces the edges on one of the stones when she notices the etchings are different, so she touches the centre of the stone when she is thrown into version of being underground and there is blood dripping around her. Then she hears it a voice which says “Elthariel” followed by screaming.

She is jerked back to reality when she realises the vision is a memory and that this is the start of the Spiral waking.

She makes her way back to the pack and informs Marcus of her findings. When she mentions “Elthariel” Marcus tenses but brushes it off that he knows who/what it is/means.
Ivy doesn’t push Marcus on it as she knows he will tell her in her own time, so Ivy decides she needs to visit the Alpha’s vault. This is where they stumble on a memory trap. “What was Marcus’s father trying to hide?”

The plot thickens from here as the story continues to unfold and pique my curiosity.

Tensions rise within the fractions which consist of four witch covens and the three wolf packs as they fear what lies ahead.

Will they remain loyal?!

Will the awakening of the spiral start to manipulate the fractions?!

Are they prepared for what is coming as they face an uncertain future?!

More importantly will they survive?!

You will need to read it to find out. I can’t wait for book 3 to come out.

Thank you, Zoey, for allowing me to receive an ARC of this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Moonfire Bloodline . . .

Ivy crouches on the eastern border of the Crescent pack and every hair on her body is standing up. The wind tastes metallic but the scent of blood is weeks or months old. Magic in the earth is pulsing and her own runes under her skin throb in response. Symbols were cut into the stone, but they were not from the pack. She touches the center and is thrown into a vision underground, blood running from the ceiling, runes on the stone floor, and a voice similar to hers whispering “Elthariel”. Screaming begins. And she is aware it is not a vision but an actual memory! The Spiral is waking… and she had never been meant to survive that curse. She walked back to the stronghold and told Marcus of the stone she found that was not one of theirs; it was carved over and marked. She told him it was old, angry, and it called a name. And when she said the name, he flinched but denied having ever heard it… but she knows he lies. Are they ready to face what they both know is coming? And will they survive?

Highly recommend Moonfire!!

The second book in this series Moonfire gets even more interesting as this story progresses. This author writes stories you just can’t get enough of, you must keep turning those pages to find out what’s going to happen next and it’s so engaging you can’t put it down. A fantastic storyteller is inside these books. This world and characters are highly developed and the details are very visual. Ivy, Marcus, Elunara are not finished with this spiral yet and I’m on to book 3 to find out if they make it, or not

I couldn’t put this one down. Even though I didn’t read the first book in the series I had no problems following the storyline. The intensity of the love and commitment to trying to save themselves and their family and friends as the must face an uncertain future has been shown on every level. I can’t wait to read the third book
