Rissa Blakeley is the author of a fantasy paranormal series, Corvidae Guard, and a post-apocalyptic saga, Shattered Lives, which features a paranormal twist and has been adapted into graphic novel form.
As a native New Yorker, Rissa is now a Georgia transplant who is completely addicted to black coffee and La Croix, obsessively listening to songs on repeat. Her days are packed with characters screaming for more scenes, cats living up to their Harry Potter namesakes, lazy dogs, a teenage daughter, who’s bringing Emo back, and a Viking husband, who finds her puns less than funny. When Rissa isn’t writing, she can be found procrastinating on social media.
If you've read books 1 through 4 then buckle in you're in for one hell of a ride. If you haven't read them STOP RIGHT NOW, grab them, you won't be disappointed. Henry is dead or so Elania thinks. He's actually back where it all started, hopefully for a cure. He's hoping to go back to his family a "normal " man. He's hopeful, scared, sick, and violently angry. Is there any was Henry can be "normal" ?
Elania loses it when Henry dies, staying in her room in a severe depression and leaving everything on Anne. When circumstances force her to rejoin the world can she? A blast from the past gives her a chance to do what Henry wanted and move on but is she willing to let Henry go?
Anne is devistated with the death of her only son but she has to hold it together and take care of her grandson and Elaina. She doesn't really get a chance to grieve except when she's with Gunther. She feels it's her fault because she couldn't stop Roger from breaking Henry.
Gunther feels like it's his fault that Henry is dead, he didn't see it coming to stop him. He also is falling more and more for Cora but with all this going on what will happen with them? Can he help Anne and Elania and keep his self and his family together through all this?
I had my doubts that Ms. Blakeley could tie it all up neatly with one final book in this amazing series but she definitely did it and did it with flair. There is no stone unturned nor question unanswered n the lives of these unique characters. I understand why Henry did what he did but I was mad at him for a while until I started seeing what he was going through to get back to his family a normal man. I've never really liked Elania, to me she was a selfish and immature woman, especially for being in the apocalypse, but toward the end I started to like her a little. Gunther, ah Gunther I've been team Gunther since the start. Ms. Blakeley you've done it, a perfect end to a awesome series and I'm sad to see this world go but thank you for letting me go along for the ride. Goodbye Henry/Luke, Elaina, Gunther , Cora, Anne and everyone else I'm going to miss you all.
I wish I could give it more than a 5 it deserves way way more.

Where do I begin? In common with others I was not keen to read the first book in this series because I don't do zombies. I finally relented to get my friend to quit wittering on. There were no zombies, as such, and the book was more of a tale of ups and downs, friends lost and new ones made...and love. I was hooked. Full Circle is just that. It take Henry Daniels back to where it all began. The trials he endures are equally as painful as those he has gone through in his journey through books 1 - 4. He is still a whiny pain in the butt (my opinion, I never took to the guy). There is a gathering together of a myriad of plot lines that a lesser writer would have left dangling. Any questions left to be answered are...Ms Blakely twists them, turns them and winds them into a beautiful french plait - every strand sits where it should. Ms Blakeley's words are the glue that holds them all in place. The Shattered Lives series has been a journey I never intended to start but which I am so pleased that I did. It made me laugh, cry simple tears, howl with rage and weep inconsolably. I am a prodigious reader. I will always find another good book to read. I am gutted that I will never again be an innocent zombie hater meeting Rissa Blakeley as a new author. I titled this review 'Where do I begin?' I think it should be 'Where do I go from here?'
In this last installment of the Shattered Lives Series, Henry is “dead”, Elaina is “dead”, Gunther is “dead”, Anne is “dead”… but all to varying degrees and not in the traditional sense of the word “dead” - all due to harrowing events that took place in the previous books. This book really brings us full circle back to the beginning. It depicts their struggles to live again, move forward after the virus and the tragedy surrounding Henry. It is a beautifully painted picture of human struggles and the real meaning of family in the face of the most difficult circumstances. Rissa writes with a passion and skill that really draws out the human emotional response and has the uncanny ability to make the reader empathize and feel along with the character. Rich in deep thoughts and description, as much as this book is about Henry’s “death”, it is about life, living and loving. All I have to say is that it is brilliantly written, a series like no other. If you haven’t read any of the Shattered Lives series, why not?? It is totally binge worthy, addicting and an epic book hangover! Read this series! 5 shattered stars out of 5. If I could give it a 10, I would! Highly recommend!!
It totally didn't go where I was expecting. There were times I was yelling at the characters and times I read with tears running down my cheeks...but by the time I got to the end I couldn't have come up with a better ending for the series.
What can I honestly say about this series that I have learned that the characters redeem themselves in my eyes. I think the only thing I can say is PICK UP THIS SERIES!!! It will tug at your heart and have you go through so many mixed emotions. I really felt that the ending this author wrote for this book is freaking awesome, I believe it went perfect with how the story was going to go. I don't think I could have imagined it going any other way. In the previous book I had a huge issue with Cora, I could not stand the way she treated Gunther especially when he was grieving. In this book she finally redeemed herself, heck the whole crew of characters did. I found myself sad that this was the last book in this series. Everything is going good with everyone or so it seems. Henry is still fighting his demons and they are worst than ever before, he believes he is turning into his father. When he is offered a chance to possibly be human will he take it and leave everyone behind? Or will he be okay with having clean blood to live on for the rest of his life? Answers will be answered, a past uncovered will heal the wounds and scars that were given. To me this book was about healing and like that title says full circle, I felt this is what was needed for Henry/Luke. I think he needed to come full circle in his life to be able to heal. There will be heartache, tears, hate, love, and forgiveness all through out the story. If you haven't started this series I highly suggest you do it, they do need to be read in order. My heart went out to Elaina and what she had to endure as what she was put through. I can't imagine her pain but it cut through my heart like a knife, especially with Nicky being so young. Around 79% into the book I found myself getting antsy and wondering how this showdown was going to go, I don't think my heart as ever raced as much as it did with this book at that point. One of my favorite scenes that I found myself giggling like a school girl was the bedroom scene with Gunther and furniture. That is all I am going to say on that. I am so glad I found this author and her work. If she can write damn good stories like this I will be reading more of her work in the future.
Not words to explain this wonderful story...Rissa Blakeley has taken me on an amazing journey of heartbreak, fear, and simply edge of the seat reading...if there was 10 stars that is what I would rate this book...
OMG!!!!! Everyone should PICK UP THIS SERIES!!! Not words to explain this wonderful story. Rissa Blakeley has taken me on an amazing journey of heartbreak, fear, and simply edge of the seat reading. If there was 1000000 stars that is what I would rate this book. FANTASTIC!!!
It has all come around. If you survived books 1-4 (and believe me, survive is all you can do), you've been waiting to find out how it could all end. Henry's faked suicide left me empty, feeling Elaina's pain at the end of book. So redemption was hard-earned for me. Her pain was so real. (Unfortunately, and in different circumstances) I've been Elaina; stuck in bed with no will to get up and do ANYTHING. Seeing her grieving brought back so many emotions for me. The connections to these characters... at times it feels like the author was writing pieces of MY story that, well that was impossible, she didn't know. But I was there, feeling every tear, the anger, the inability to get out of bed and face your own child. I knew Henry's journey was going to be harrowing. Curing such an infection... how do you even? Rissa does a brilliant job at making it believable. Erik was trying to do right by his victims now that the true evil was dead, but I still felt he was a smarmy rat. Gunther... I don't even know what to say. The ghosts that haunt that man. I can't imagine. But eventually you have to move on. Having characters like Anne and Cora rounded out the story and the new additions tossed in some extra flavor. I'm sad to see it end, but know eventually it had to. At least there is the comic to look forward to. I probably didn't make a lot of sense. Just know this: read this series. Binge on it now. The end will leave you satisfied and bereft all at once. And the whole series is a mix of both feelings. Good Luck. #ProudSurvivor #TeamHenry
Although I did not want this series to end, I must say this book was beyond perfection. I had so many emotions going on throughout this entire series but Full Circle really was amazing. You can tell the author took this book and put every emotion she had into. I am sad this series is over as I began to like characters and I never thought I would and angry at other characters I never thought I would but all in all this book was brilliant. I feel like I have been a part of this story, these characters have a special place in my heart and I will forever love Henry/Luke Daniels. I am so proud of your Rissa!!!! Well done
