Chase Henderson was as normal as a super-powered, or as the government officially titled it, Coded teen could be. He was at the middle of the social ladder, had a unique Code, got good grades, and was good at sports. He couldn't have been more average. But that all flipped when he attended a pool party.

Reese McGinnis was anything but normal after she was drugged at a pool party. Her and the other nine Coded teens who attended the party had a unique reaction to the chloroform lacing the drinks. Unlike the non-Coded individuals, they got gravely ill for three days. Even stranger, after she recovers, she's offered a scholarship to Redwood, the only school designed especially and exclusively for Coded middle school and high school students.

Dylan Cole finds it completely suspicious when he's offered a scholarship to a school he never even applied to. Unlike the others, Dylan actually has a reason the school might want him. But they aren't aware of his extremely advanced telepathy. Even more oddly, he wasn't the only one from the small town of Sierra Springs to have just received a scholarship.

Gwen Newsom knows her mission---to get ten teenagers from Sierra Springs safely to Redwood before whoever's after them gets the teens first.

Especially before he succeeds in whatever he tried to do to them at that party.

Hi there! So... this is the part where I babble about myself. Alright, prepare yourself.

I've lived all of the world, most notably Japan and Australia, but I'm going to finish out my teens in the U.S. I adore books(DUH, this is goodREADS), TV shows, movies, the news and anything that can be generally translated into a story.

I started writing when I was twelve, and until Coded, the only writing I ever did was FanFiction. Coded was my first attempt at fiction I have the legal rights too. (In case you're wondering, yep, still write Fanfiction. Just because I write my own stories doesn't mean I don't enjoy manipulating others!)

I'm homeschooled, so I have a little more free time than most kids, and I like to fill that time with swimming, playing piano and guitar, and blasting showtunes in my bedroom until my parents threaten to call an asylum and have me institutionalized. (They know all it will take is my Google search history to convince the police I'm looney...)

That's all I have to say about myself besides, thanks for reading this rant, and if you're reading one of my books, enjoy!

Coded was a very good and fast-paced book. it was very well written and, unlike some books I have read, it was easy to understand and very descriptive. I especially liked getting Dylan's point of View. The ending was definitely a cliff-hanger and I can't wait for the next one. There were many twists that I was not expecting, but I did guess a few things. I really enjoyed this and I recommend this book for middle schoolers and young adults. This was a first-reads book I received from a goodreads giveaway. I would like to thank the author, Casey Whisenant, for sending me a signed copy of Coded. This is a must-read for young adult book lovers like me.

This book was interesting. It really took me on an adventure. I must say that though the story line was very fast, I loved never knowing what was just around the corner for the characters. One very important thing I saw was how Casey explained and created each scene. The characters were very well described and even though you don't know them that well you get a feel for who they are. I feel that as this book series goes on it will give much more depth to the characters as individuals. Again really great book.

This book is amazing people. AMAZING. It has everything. Road trips, plot twists, superpowers, great characters... I could go on and on. There's action, adventure, friendship! Plus, the book has a LOT of crazy teens all in a bus together causing all kinds of mischief. What's not to love? It has rotating POV's, so there's a good chance your favorite character gets the spotlight. I can't wait for the sequel!!!
