What a powerful and timely graphic novel. I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review. Initially written before the current atrocities started on October 7th 2023, however, conflict and tension have existed in the area for decades, and the recent war has only divided the groups further. This tension hangs over everything and everyone interviewed, and deeply affects personal lives. Thanks to Salomé Parent-Rachdi, who interviewed each character, we can take a peek at how this conflict affects love, sex, and desire on a fundamental level. The art brought the characters to life, while also creating colorful and immersive backdrops. Israel and Palestine were brought to life. I honestly cannot recommend this book enough. I am so glad I read it and I will hold the knowledge learned with care, as it gives me an entirely new perspective on the conflicts happening.
