Curvy vampire Glory St. Clair has a lot of things on her wish list: a perfect figure, to eat chocolate again, and to marry her hunky Highlander Jeremiah Campbell of course. Then there's the family she's always wanted. At least she's about to marry Jerry--until her mother kidnaps her the week before the wedding.
What's a girl to do?
She's in Olympus and a goddess. Glory doesn't mind waking up with a perfect figure and an appetite for hamburgers, but where are her fangs? Seems blood suckers aren't welcome in Olympus. And her powerful grandfather wouldn't approve of her former lifestyle. He's eager to meet her and arrange an "appropriate" marriage. Glory is desperate to go home to the man she loves. Will her powerful family ever let her go? When Jerry arrives in Olympus determined to fight for her, Glory is afraid they will never have the forever life together they'd planned. It will take all of her goddess powers to make this final dream come true.
Gerry Bartlett figures that vampires are pretty much like everyone else except for the liquid diet.
Eternity or Mexican food? Tough call.
Gerry’s a native Texan and lives halfway between Houston and Galveston. Pictured with her is her late wonder dog, a Bedlington Terrier named Belle.
When she started writing, she was still teaching and used the pseudonym Lynn McKay. You can probably still find her historical and two romantic suspense books for a penny on-line. Now that she’s no longer in the classroom and discovered the fun of writing about vampires, she uses her real name. Too bad some people think Gerry is a boy's name or short for Geraldine. No, it's not. Really.
She's still writing her Real Vampires series but is back to romantic suspense and contemporaries. Her Texas Heat series starts in Houston, her home town. Then there's her Lone Star Suspense series set in Austin where she went to the University of Texas. She loves the hill country there and brought some of her favorite characters from the Texas Heat series to Austin for the fast-paced suspense in the three books in that series.
You can check out Gerry’s website at gerrybartlett.com to find her blog and articles for writers. Her Perils of Publishing gives the scoop on what happens once "the call" comes. Oh, did you think it would be all roses and champagne? Well, of course it is.
When Gerry's not writing, she's treasure hunting for her antiques business in Alvin. Her favorite finds? Vintage purses and jewelry. It's a struggle not to keep it all. Be sure to sign up for her newsletter for the latest info about her books at http://ymlp.com/xgeyeewwgmgw
I absolutely love Gloriana St. Claire! What an awesome read! Funny, sexy, romantic, and crazy are all perfect adjectives to describe this installment of The Real Vampire Series. We are finally introduced to Glory's family, and lets just say, there is messing around with Zeus! Yes, I said Zeus! He is Glory's grandfather! Wait, her father is Mars, the God of War! Of course they are not happy with Glory's choices, especially the one of her being a vampire, but what else could she do, when we all know how her mother threw her away! Well, now scores will be settled, and Jerry finally gets his woman! Of course, she had been kidnapped, and brought to Olympus, where she is finally presented to her true family. While Glory always wished for a family, she may have regretted that wish. I can only hope that this is not the last we see of Glory, Jerry, and the gang!
It was almost like this book was divided into 2 parts. The first part was craziness that Glory's parents brought with a trip to Olympus and the adamant demand that she not marry a vampire, but renounce her life on Earth and live how they wanted her to with all the gods and goddesses. I found this part to be boring, all of the residents of Olympus were horrible with few morals. Anything seemed to go until things started to make them look bad. Being that Glory is a strong female her thoughts didn't mesh very well and some of the changes that she wanted threw things in chaos.
The second part of the book had to do with the wedding. All the drama of getting to the date, along with their family wore me out. I did like it when the parents had the big show down, loved that Jerry's mother got put in her place with a great show. I was happy to see the wedding finally happen and for Glory to get her HEA.
*wiping tears* ... I am so sad to see this amazing series end. I loved this book but really wish the ending had been a few pages longer. Praying there is a novella someday that will give us the wedding details, vows, exchanging of rings and of course the kiss. Blade & Glory Campbell forever!!

Combining scotch, vampires, and Olympians makes for a wonderful tale that only a master could carry out . Truly this is an accomplishment of love hate and parental intervention to tax the greatest minds . It has been done. A great read.
Wait...that's it? I read through this whole series just to get resolution, and that's IT? I didn't feel like this book wrapped up a darn thing. Honestly, it felt like the author didn't want to write it anymore, so she just randomly stopped. Also, the book really felt like two short books - one about her time in Olympus and the nasty "gods" she met there, and one about the wedding (which was honestly a bit of a let down too).

Really liked this series in the beginning but it seems like the Author was running out of things so a lot of the last few books was rehashing stuff from previous books. And in this one it seems she can't even remember what she had written before. Having Glory just barely talking to Flo about her ex boyfriend like it was a secret...really disappointed in how far downhill the series has gone

This is the last book of a wonderful series. I’m going to miss Glory and all her friends (and enemies).
In this one Glory and Jerry finally tie the knot, but not until after a lot of pre-wedding problems start: (in-laws). Jerry has to literally fight for her hand against an Olympus god (temporary made human). Then there are more pre-wedding problems: in-laws, past BFs, fires, in-laws, deciding on a dress, business accounting, and oh and did I say in-laws? You think we have it bad at least ours are humans (sort of). Try Scottish vampires against Olympus gods and goddesses.
Except for one spell of jealousy (Ray), Jerry is wonderful in this. Very generous, loving, understanding and heroic. Glory is her same flustered, loyal, plotting, determined, ball of fire. Especially when she discovers she has a lot of new family. In fact, she’s overwhelmed by it. I’d love to have someone like Mars as my father, he is so cool.
Towards the end all the old characters make an appearance wrapping up their connection to Glory as they either move on or continue the way they were going. Even the New York thing gets partially resolved. We get a couple of new characters, which I’d love to see how they work out, but, oh well.
But the end was way too abrupt for me. I keep hitting the next page button hoping there was more. Couldn’t we at least see the rest of the wedding and part of the honeymoon? Twilight at least gave us that much, but then I guess they had another movie with a big final battle. Now that’d be cool. Maybe we can get a short story glimpse of the honeymoon?
Quick Thought: 1)Why is it that the fathers are ok, but the mothers don’t get along? Not all mothers-in-law are bad or hate each other. My daughter-in-law thinks I’m awesome and her mother and I go places together all the time. We all work well together at family get togethers.
Fave scenes: Cornelius and the pillows, Jerry’s fight with Kratos, Glory showing Charis and Alesha her store and the confrontation between Glory’s parents and Jerry’s at the wedding rehersal.
Glory and Blade have (once again) vanquished all the (literal and figurative) demons and skeletons in their closets and have pledged (finally) to marry. Blade is over the moon with happiness and can finally stop fighting for the woman he loves, right? Nope. Not by a long shot. Glory's true parentage is revealed by this point in the series and Blade loves her all the more for it. While a lesser man may balk at the thought of his betrothed as the daughter of the Goddess Hebe and God of war himself, Mars- Jerry Blade is justified in his love- as he knew all along that Glory was heads and shoulders above all other women he has known and embraces the fact that actually, she is above and beyond himself. You see, Jerry is the son of a Laird and Scottish vampiric royalty, and his mother has never let Glory forget that she feels her son deserves 'better' than who she thought Glory was. Little did they know that Glory's parents (her mother in particular) feels the same. She does NOT want Glory to marry below her station, and while seemingly accepts the fact that her daughter is going to marry a distasteful vampire, she actually is plotting to kidnap Glory and take her to Olympus to finally be back where she belongs. In this installment, we are introduced to Zeus, Hera, Heracles (a super dick bag, BTW) and others who all feel that vampires are the lowest of the low and try to make Glory into the Goddess she was always meant to be. While time passes differently in Olympus, Glory realizes that she is trapped there and life on Earth is passing at an alarming rate. What does Blade think? Does he think Glory has abandoned him and their life together? She just wants to go home to her life and her love, but the gods of Olympus will not let her go without a fight. Mars is actually the hero of this story and brings Blade to Olympus and arranges a chance for Blade to fight (as a mortal) for the hand of his daughter. Will Blade prevail or fail? Will Glory and Blade return to their life in Texas or will they get trapped for eternity in the hell of Paradise?
It's time, it's time, it's time! The wedding of the century! Jeremiah and Gloriana. *sigh* Gloriana St.Clair has said no to Jerry Cam[bell for centuries, oh not sex, just marriage. But she has finally acknowledged her undying love and has planned the perfect wedding with the man of her dreams. With the happy day getting closer the last thing she expects is the arrival of the woman who abandoned her as an infant, her mother, the goddess Hebe, who promptly kidnaps Glory to introduce her on Olympus, where her grandfather, Zeus, has forbidden her marriage and promised her to another god. Glory throws a goddess sized hissy fit which prompts her father, Mars the god of war, to bring her beloved Jerry up to fight for her hand. But will he survive a fight with a god since his arrival has mad him mortal? Will Glory be forced to marry a god she doesn't know or like? How can Glory escape this golden cage? Doing what she does best! Watch out Olympus~Glory is about to show everyone not to mess with this bridezilla!
Frankly, I'm relieved this series has come to an end. I stuck with it because I really liked Gloriana in the beginning, and I had to know how things ended up for her. I think the addition of gods and goddesses several books ago is what really turned me off, particularly when Greek and Roman are mixed willy nilly with no obvious reason. I guess as love triangles were cleared up, family drama became necessary instead. And oh, what drama. Glory's parents, especially her mother, are way too single-minded, to the point where they feel more like convenient plot devices than characters. And while Glory continues to pay lip service to wanting to be an independent woman, Blade purchasing a building (far outside of her means) as a wedding present is A-OK. So yeah, just a lot of problems for me as a reader, but I guess it was a decent enough wrap up with "farewell performances" from many of Glory's old lovers and friend.
The Best Ending to a Series EVER!!!! This review is from: Real Vampires Say Read My Hips (Kindle Edition)
This is the last book in the Real Vampires series and I'm sad. Having said that, I LOVED IT!!! Glory and Blade have been thru so much over the centuries and have had their ups and downs but, I've always rooted for them to have an HEA. This book tells us all about Glory finding out where her special powers come from and the fact that her parents are Olympian Gods. Her mother kidnaps her, then her father brings Blade up to fight for her hand. Oh and, by the way, both Glory and Blade are human with no powers while they are on Olympus. Let the fun begin! This all happens a few days before their wedding is supposed to occur! I sighed and shed a tear at the end but, my 2 favorite characters finally have their happy ending!!!!!
I was very excited to read this book. At the same time I was a little sad because my favorite series was ending. I am glad that there was an ending. Since the author self published this one I hope to see at least a novella at some point or even better a spin off series. Gerry Bartlett has a way of making you love her characters. For anyone who has not read this series, you are missing out! I hope to read more by this author in the future.
Glory is finally getting married to long-time lover Blade, and all her friends are gathering to wish her the best... except her mother the goddess. Can Glory and Blade's love survive the wrath of Mount Olympus? This book is the perfect ending for the Real Vampires series. I only hope Gerry Bartlett spins off some stories of the other interesting characters in this world.
Glory and Blade (sigh) what an amazing love they have. I love this series so much and this book was just as perfect as the rest. Well written with the personalities of the characters just jumping off the pages at you. I feel like I know them all, and I will miss them.
Another crazy Gloria adventure! This vampire cannot catch a break. After finally reconciling her relationship with her sire, she’s then kidnapped by her power-mad mother on the way to the alter. Nice revisit of earlier characters in the series – you may need to reread a few earlier books as back story is sometimes brief.
The first handful of books in this series were very entertaining but they definitely went down hill towards the end. This last book did not seem to be structured very well. The author introduced a lot of new characters and then was rushed in the last half is the book to wrap up the whole series' storyline. I am glad that I read it but I am more glad it is over!
What can I say? See, I fell into this series while looking for a book to read while traveling, some 6 years ago, and I've loved it ever since. There are books that become like friends to you, and well, Glory is like an old friend. She and Jerry fight, they make up, she flirts... and Flo finds her new shoes.
Chaos, a bit of mayhem, and always, a love story. Yep! I love this series.
Such a good book. Although I am sad to see this series end, I secretly hope that maybe there is just one more story in there. Maybe a few Novellas too? haha. Oh well atleast I can read and re read this series and never tire of it.
Wow was great ending sorry to see this last in series, have been putting the story off cuz didn't want to see Glory an Jerry's world end. Cried few times too. Gerry Bartlett did another great book wit all sorts of paranormal too A must fun read
Great book but sad to see the series come to an end.....they were all like family to me over the years......thank you Gerry for the great series well worth reading.......I fell in love with your characters
I loved the Glory series and am missing them now that they are done. I enjoyed the fact that there were so many books in the series as it kept me busy for awhile and I was always kept looking forward to Glory's next adventure.
Ms. Bartlett's characters are well-developed and interesting. The series is delightfully entertaining and full of twists. I hope there will be more to come in the further adventures of Gloriana and Jerry.
Ok I've read all the books in this series and have yet to be disappointed! Happy endings are always high innkeeper and this book didn't disappoint. I just hope there will be more coming soon.
What an awesome ending to an amazing series. It was great touching base with so many of the characters from previous books. Loved it! Glory and Blade forever. Okay, so I can't leave out Rafe and Ray.
By the time the series finished, I was 3 books done with it. It just dragged on way too long and the back and forth between men drove me nuts. At first it was all good, then it got boring quick.
