My Mess is all about grace. It’s the story of how I was trapped in sin, struggling with pornography, fighting addictions, completely alone, living for myself, and not caring who I hurt in the process. In my desperation, I called out to God, looking for just a taste of His acceptance. Instead, I was plunged into an ocean of grace I didn’t think was possible.
If you feel trapped—like it’s been forever since you’ve had any hope: you can find renewed hope in Jesus Christ. Romans 10:11 says, “For the Scripture says, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.’” As disappointed as we often feel, it can be hard to take this verse seriously. In this book, I share two personal stories of disappointment. The first mess I got myself into. The second mess happened on it’s own. Both times, I battled the oppressive voice of hopelessness. However, both messes ended with God showing up and pulling me out. Both times, He proved His Word true.
No mess is too dirty for God to clean up. No hole is too deep. No shadow is too dark. If you’re in a mess, it’s time to be set free. It’s time to overcome sin through the power of grace. It’s time to win against emptiness and loneliness through the presence of Jesus. It’s time to seek God and find the purpose that He put you here to accomplish.

This book is helping my faith in God get stronger and stronger. It helps me realize the wrong things I have done despite the faith I have for God. It isn't enough just to pray and call God. In order for us to receive the beauty of life and all the blessings, we must BELIEVE and never doubt. Before I read this book, I was actually at the dark, I lost my hopes and dreams. This is helping me to stand up on my own feet, pursue life and never worry because God is within me.
For many of us, there is a separation between the meaningful life we dream of having and what our lives actually look like. This book addresses that with a powerful, straight-talking testimony that will cause you to take a serious look at who God is and what He is like.
Let me see I didn't just stumble upon this book, it kind of stumbled upon me. God laid this book on my lap in my situation that I'm going through simply to let me know that he's got this he's got me...I challenge you to go back and remember. Remember the joy you felt. Remember the love you cherished—that an almighty God would really pay with His own Son’s life to save you. (For those who watched lion king growing and Simba's Father said, "Remember... Who you are... Remember..." I thought of this from the made).
Troy's testimony is one I can relate to personally. Not only is it encouraging but it is also filled with practical ways to apply the message of Jesus in my life. I am grateful for the work that God is doing for me through the scriptures and people like Troy Black! I believe that regardless of where you are in your walk with Jesus, this book will add to your edification and relationship with Jesus.
This book is the most humble honest and clearly inspired book. I wish anyone who is struggling with worthiness and who might even feel lost and needing help understanding what God wishes for our lives, read this book. It is short and clearly a powerful testimony of God's love for us all. Troy shares his personal journey in a raw rare deeply heart felt way that will/ can definitely help anyone seeking God but can't seem to find the way.
I feel blessed by this true life story of Troy's journey and what he gained in the process and now passes on to us. God's pathways are loaded with compassion and we need only seek His loving assistance as Troy exposses so clearly and beautifully. A work of Truth and simple enough to understand. God is Good all the time. A must read.
