This was such a wild blast to read and its seriously reads like a 80s and 90s action movie and tbh I recently read all the issues of Red Hulk by the same writer and it felt the same way. I love how this starts as a mystery of like Wade under someone control and taking Logan somewhere and then you see who it is aka Stryfe whose without his helmet and over the course of the book you get to see where he has been and like who he ultimately is and that was a fun one to see!
I loved the revelations and everything and its just filled with action and so many great scenes like giant Kaiju raptors, Deadpool vs Wolverine multiple times, zombie and like insane plans of Stryfe like a reverse spin on Noah's ark but his version and then the marriage of all these things results in such a great action filled story that has quickly become one of my favorite Logan stories easily. I love the ambition and scope of the series and how it brings back the energy of the 90s here and you will see it in the plot and also the art style like the way they are drawn!
The other characters like Maverick were fun additions and it will be fair to say he is effectively like the 3rd lead in the book and it makes for a fun combo and battles! He has a great short arc woth first joining ONE, and then fighting them and like in the end joining up with Logan and Wade to stop Stryfe's insane plans and its done really well and I like how Percy has continued his fascination for Maverick from his Wolverine/X-Force run!!
Its really good and like I said has ambitious scope and shows Wade and Logan's sort of friendship like one always trying to rescue the other if they are under someone else's control and by the end like teaming up to save the day and thus save the world from this insane future man who was a fun threat and the twist in the end of who he really is was very interesting and it makes for a great read! The art by Josh was freaking great!!
Too much time on trying to be wacky and not enough time spent on making a coherent plot. Stryfe is back but it's not Stryfe, it's Apocalypse in Stryfe's body. He wants to end the world and create a new world for mutants a 1,000 years in the future. Deadpool and Wolverine are being mind controlled some times but not others. There's cowboy zombies and skeleton dragons. None of this makes much sense.
