This YA romance is definitely a slow burn. June finds herself caught between James and Will in a messy love triangle that kept me going back and forth. Both guys are wild cards, but James is on a whole different level. He’s blunt, unpredictable, and honestly a bit of a bully, but he’s also brutally honest with June, which is exactly what pulls her toward him.
As the story unfolds, June gets pulled deeper into James’s dangerous world while still feeling the push and pull between the two boys. The story has a lot of layers, and even when the drama made my head spin, the writing kept me hooked. I definitely wanted to keep reading just to see where everything was headed.
Highlights: YA slow-burn romance Messy, intense love triangle Layered story that keeps you reading to find out what happens next.
I finished reading part 1 way before watching the movie. I really enjoyed the book and the movie. I’m about to read part 2. I want to see what happens in the love triangle and see what happens with these characters. I really enjoyed part 1 and I’m excited to read part 2 in this series.
Ugh. I had really high hopes when movie came out. You could tell it had a great storyline but this drags on forevvvver with too many characters and I just couldn’t get into it. I didn’t even finish. I skipped. It was bad.
