Hmmm, not sure how to start this review (or finish in general.) It seems to need an overall review for the complete series, but since I have reviewed each part individually, it seems too repetitve to go back to the beginning. So let's start with Part Five and then I'll attempt to sumarize how I feel for the book as a whole (because, really, it is just one book.)

Even by the time I started this, I had gotten over the feelings of betrayal by the author I had expressed minutes earlier in my review. I knew deep down that there was no way she had brought us this far to tear them apart. And, yes, that was true, but I have a few issues with suspending disbelief far enough to go along with all of the storyline. I'm treading softly here, because it is very difficult to do this and stay out of spoiler territory. Anyone who has read this far I am sure will go ahead and finish this fifth and final installment without hesitation, as I did, but I do have some frustrations in the way it did all come together. I don't think it is really a spoiler to say that Jace and Andy finally get their HEA, but I think that some parts were too drawn out and others much too short. When you read it, I feel confident that most readers will agree with the parts I am talking about. And that is why this part also gets 4 stars as well. I will say the editing got much better as the series went on (or I was more sucked into the story and noticed fewer things...but there were a few places in this one I had to stop and go, hmmm, what? ) Again, a quick run through by an editor could fix most of my biggest issues that kept each section and the combined book from hitting 5 star status for me.

So, to sum up my feelings about all 5 parts that make this one whole book, as briefly as possible, overall I do like it and will most likely give it a recommendation on my blog. I am definitely undecided on whether to recommend breaking it down by parts, or suggesting the combined book including all pieces that was mentioned in the back of the installments, or novellas, or whatever you want to call the 5 pieces that make this a whole book. For those readers who have KU, I will probably lean toward the separate sections as I read it. There is a certain thrill to the cliffhanger at the end of each - especially knowing that you don't have to wait weeks or months for the next edition. But, as each section is rather short, even with a nasty migraine, I managed to read it all in one day. I honestly haven't looked at pricing to decide for sure which way to recommend for those who don't have KU. And I guess, overall, for those of you who hate cliffhangers, by all means buy the combined edition. I know very well that the serial format can be quite annoying - heck I reviewed "book one" of another serial yesterday with a bit of disgust and with no plans of reading any more of it, but there were a number of other reasons for that than simply that I didn't realize how short the pieces of the serial were. But I digress....overall I did enjoy this romp in rockstar romance land.

Throughout the series my biggest pet peeves were editing issues. For those who follow my reviews, you know these have to be pretty noticeable for me to take stars away for them. I know mistakes happen, and it certainly isn't just in indie books. My husband often laughs reminding me of letters written to Random House, Simon & Schuster, and other big publishing houses to inform them of errors I had found, so it has been a lifetime of such things sticking out to me. I have learned to temper my rating scale on these. I may mention them if I notice them because I know some avid readers are much more upset by them than I am. It is when they actually take me out of the story that I actually change my rating for them, and overall this story lost about half a star for this. The other half is mostly because of the time it took me to warm to the heroine, and in truth, I never truly came to love her, and I even lost some of my love for the hero in the last book, starting with the last few pages of the fourth part. Overall though, he is quite the Prince Charming and I can't stay too mad at him. The unbelievable timing issue in the final part is the reason I mention it at all, and the slightly duped feeling I got when the reasoning for the drama at the end of part four was explained. I can't explain my issues with that particular part without going into spoiler territory, so I will leave it at that.

I know the rockstar romance genre (heck, the romance genre in general) has two basic kinds of readers - those that love smut, and those who want a clean read. I am a bit torn on which category to put this in. I feel that the smut that is contained in the series is well written, for which I give Ms. Ward big kudos for, but I am afraid there is not enough of it for the first kind of reader, but a bit too much for the second. The third category, like me, who can swing either way on this issue without a care depending on mood and strength of story either way, seem to be a rather elusive bunch in my experience (which is why I always try to mention where the books lie on that scale in my reviews.

So, my final words on the Reckless series: I don't regret my time spent with Jace and Andy at all, and if the author ever decides to re-edit, I would be more than happy to reread and reevaluate. I do think it has the potential to be a five star series (or at least 4.5) but I just don't feel it is there at this point. I will admit to being a bit jaded when it comes to the rockstar romance genre since I read so many of them. It isn't that I wouldn't recommend these, but there are so many others I am much more passionate about that I would have to recommend first to those just dabbling in rockstar territory. At the same time, I have read plenty that come in much lower on the scale as well. For those who are pretty immersed in the rockstar romance genre, I won't hesitate to recommend them adding it to their TBRs, and I have hit the follow button on Amazon for Ms. Ward and will probably take a look at and like her facebook page as well. I am not at all opposed to seeing whatelse she has in her, especially when it comes to rockstars, once my own TBR is a bit more caught up.

Andrea didn't even ask who the lady was or why he said he loved her. She left a note to Becca and drove straight to Seattle got a job changed her number and tried to move on. Only her heart Couldn't move forward. The worst part she thought he moved on and forgot about her. Girl wake up and stop second guessing everything. Great story line couldn't put down till I was done with the entire series. Must read.

"Reckless" by Alice Ward .... a complete 5 part series about a woman not knowing where she's headed or how to let go and a man who wants nothing more than to help and show her how. I LOVED this series - LOVED Andy and Jace from chapter 1 - LOVED the secondary characters!! This series was one of those stories that just drew me in and didn't let go until I finished .... a book & a half a day ;) Heartwarming, feel good, made me cry - laugh - and cheer for the good guys, steamy, hot kind of story!! If I'm honest, I liked this series better than "The Arrangement: Ferro Family" series by H.M. Ward ... there was just so much more to it, in my opinion. I would recommend this short series to anyone who enjoys .... well ... any that I've mentioned above!! Alice Ward is now a new author for me to watch & I look forward to reading more of her books.

Reckless 5 had the ending that was I was expecting, however the amount of drama that one person can set upon herself is unbelievable in this book. There were sections of the book that made me role my eyes, because broke or not, how could you "stay away" from someone form half of a year due to money? When there is a will there is a way...
Overall this series is really good. I would have liked to have seen all 5 installments put into one long book. So many people are over the less than 100 page books to make a full series. Had I not received these books as an ARC I would not have invested the time and money into reading such short, rather pricey books (up to $2.99 for 80 pages).

A great conclusion for a series that I've really enjoyed. The characters were great, Andrea annoyed me sometimes but Jace was perfect.

My only complaint about the series was that it was released in such short and expensive instalments. I would much prefer to read the story in one volume instead of having it dragged out - I nearly forgot about the series.

I was sincerely let down on this book! It is def missing something. I just cant believe that 6months wasted for nothing. it just didnt fit. I excepted a better explanation/plot. All the books were sooooo good but this one missed its mark.

So glad this is over! Such a waste! She ran away from him when he did nothing wrong, yet 6 months later he chases her down??? She was so whiney and needy, and for me it was an awful way to end the book.

Good book

This was a great ending for this series. My only complaint is that there were pages repeated and paragraphs skipped but it was easy to follow the story line.

good series

Overall I enjoyed this series in spite of Andrea driving me nuts at times. Jace was adorable. I give the entire series four angst filled stars.

Read all five books in one day. Was easy to read. Felt a little annoyed with Andrea at times, no one could be that stupid, surely. Enjoyed all the books, although they was a bit predictable.

Great series. The only negative thing I can say is this series should have been 2 maybe 3 book series not five.

A perfect ending to a great series. I'm so glad that Jace and Andrea found there way back to each other. Happy endings are always amazing.
