When Lyanndra, a Starless maiden disguised as a knight, fells the cruel Demigod king in a fiery battle, she earns the title of the Godslayer and rises up as a folk hero among her people. But when a curse binds her to the king’s son, Syran, Lyanndra finds herself engaged in a bloody war for her freedom.
Trapped in the palace of the Demigods, Lyanndra rages against the cruel fate of the stars. But even as she’s drawn ever deeper into Syran’s burning orbit, a terrible plot unfolds in the opulent corridors of the palace. Lyanndra is forced to choose between her hatred and her heart before the whispers of treason lay waste to the kingdom and her freedom is lost to her forever.
I read this in under 24 hours. I was absolutely obsessed with everything. I read a previous review where they compared some aspects of this book to Mulan and ...YES
I have no notes, I loved every single thing about this book and I am GASSED for book 2
This book blew my mind. Alina's writing style is top notch. I didn't know what to expect reading this book I actually didn't read anything about it beforehand. I'm so glad I didn't every step of the way I was so engrossed in what was going on that I also didn't know that I had basically read it in one sitting. Lyanndra & Syran are perfection in all that they are. The Godslayer takes us to a world of Demigods and Starless. The Starless (humans) of course being the lesser species in the eye of the Demigods and especially under the rule of the King. But the hatred runs deep and goes both ways with Starless despising the Demigods who rule. Lyanndra, more commonly known as The Godslayer, for being the Knight to take down the ruthless Demigod King is a Starless who finds herself bound to Syran, the Demigod Kings son, by a cruel fate from the stars. I honestly loved everything about their every interaction. They are complete opposites thrust into an impossible situation and following along with them was an adventure. I'm immediately starting book 2 The Midnight Serpent and I can't wait! Thank you Alina for the gifted copy!
I was in a reading slump for a couple of weeks until I decided to pick this one up. To be honest, this was unexpectedly amazing!
The book was filled with female bad-ass representation, strength, courage, and love. The politics and the power struggles were descriptive and well-written. Its world building and the magic system were incredibly interesting and easy to follow. And, the storyline just drew me right in - started with a massive bang, and it did not end there. It just made me turn page after page, itching to know what's next.
All the characters were loveable even the annoying ones. 🤭 The main characters and their chemistry??? OHH LA LA!! ❤️🔥 The yearning??? 🤤 AHHHHHHHH!!! The two were a perfect example of a push-and-pull kind of situation, all sparks and fire, and I just cannot get enough of them!
This novel's a fast-paced narrative filled with delicious tension and tasteful encounters. Definitely one of the best out there! 💯👌 I cannot wait to read the sequel and to know more of characters' backgrounds and possible secrets!!!! Recommended! ✨️
I enjoyed those book, I did feel that some parts were too descriptive, everything was described even if it didnt need to be. The enemies to lovers storyline was refreshing as it wasn't an instant one day "oh I love him" - it happened slowly over time. Alina has done very well with this book. It was a refreshing read after struggling with a book slump. I look forward to see what is next for Alina
"After all, good women aren't supposed to don their father's armor and ride away in the night to seek their fortunes. Good women don't slay great beasts or joust against the finest of the Celestial Knights.
Good women don't fight. Good women don't kill.
But I am not a good woman."
The Godslayer, book one in The Star Crossed Crown series by Alina Kramer, is actually one of my first forays into romantasy. Shocking, I know, given my love of all things fantastical and strange, but we all make mistakes, right? And what a book to start out with. Beyond the characters, which I will get to in a minute, the writing in this book is absolutely phenomenal. There's never a moment where you don't feel immersed in the world of Alastria and never a second when you aren't rooting for the FMC, Lyanndra, no matter whether her foe is a great wyrm or her crossed star.
The chemistry between Syran and Lyanndra is absolutely astounding. Sometimes, you question whether characters are actually attracted to one another or are just looking to get their freak on because they have an itch to scratch. That is not even remotely a question in The Godslayer. From the moment that they come in contact with one another, you know that even if Lyanndra might fight against their bond? She can't help but learn to be turned on by, and even (gasp!) love Syran.
I am fortunate enough to be have been chosen to by on Alina Kramer's street team for the second book in the series, The Midnight Serpent, but don't let that fool you into thinking I wasn't going into this reading of the first book with a skeptical eye. I'm not one to fall for hype easily or to be drawn in just because there's spice on the page. I'm looking for good world building, interesting and flawed characters, and a storyline that keeps me engaged from beginning to end. The Godslayer gave me all of that and more (though I'm still upset by what happened to my German Shepherd coded dude, Alina! UPSET!). If you love things edgy, a little dark, but can't help but root for the underdog, even if she's fated mates with a scorching redhead? This book is for you!
This book had me hooked from the start, I absolutely loved it!!The way Alina wrote this book was magical, everything was written to feel so real and beautiful. The magical creatures and plot are described so vividly that the world feels alive! It feels as if you're there with the character living what they're living. This book had me had me captivated, I couldn't put it down. The Godslayer takes us to a world of Demigods and Starless. The Starless (humans) being seen as the lesser species in the eye of the Demigods, but especially the king. But the hatred is mutual the starless hate the demigods just as much if not more. "After all, good women aren't supposed to don their father's armor and ride away in the night to seek their fortunes. Good women don't slay great beasts or joust against the finest of the Celestial Knights. Good women don't fight. Good women don't kill. But I am not a good woman."
Then we have our FMC Lyanndra who's posing as the male knight infamous for slaying the Demigod king. Such a bad🍑 she is i absolutely loved her!!! Then we have our MMC Syran, the Demigod son of Lyanndra's enemy. Their enemies-to-lovers dynamic is electric at best and combustible at worst. The chemistry between Syran and Lyanndra is absolutely astounding, They are fated by cruel fate from the stars, but I mean come on are they really??They are complete opposites thrust into an impossible situations. Their story is electrifying and invigorating to follow!!! “Our stars are crossed. Our souls are bound. We are one.”
The bond between Lyanndra and Syran had me in a chokehold the entire book. It was beautiful and emotional and sometime made me want to pull out my hair in frustration of the two. But I absolutely loved reading it!! I loved it even more because they start out as actual enemies like they absolutely hate each other. So we actually get a real enemies-to-lovers story, thank you Alina for giving me the story I didn't know i needed in my life!!! Thank you Alina Kramer for the gifted copy and I can't wait to read The Midnight Serpent!!!!
After reading The Godslayer, I’ll need a few therapy sessions before I can start trusting people again, because this one hit hard. It was glorious but devastating, and I want to give Alina Kramer all my love and gratitude for that.
The Godslayer tells the story of Lyanndra and Syran. He’s a crown prince demigod who’s about to be crowned king. She’s a starless knight who killed his father a year prior and has since been traveling to assist other starless citizens by killing the monsters that make their lives miserable. As tradition demands, before he can become king, Syran has to perform a ritual to find his crossed star. Although he’s absolutely certain there’ll be none for him, he goes through with the ritual. Can you imagine Lyanndra waking up to find the ring of the man she despises most on her finger? Let me tell you, it’s epic.
If you’re a sucker for medieval settings, swords, armor, castles, and cozy villages, this book is for you. The descriptions of the surroundings are lyrical and vivid, it feels like you’re wandering through the villages and castles yourself. If I were any good at drawing, I would’ve tried to bring this world to life myself. Sadly, I’ll have to wait for real artists to pick up interest. Anyone out there who wants to do that for me? Pretty please ☺️
Alina chose not to give all the characters a background story from the start. Throughout the story, you get to know them bit by bit, but by the end I realized that especially the FMC’s background is still a big blank spot, and I hope that will be revealed in the next book in the series. Where does she come from? Is she really starless? Where is her family? Why did she become a knight? The only thing we know is that she was meant to live according to medieval standards for women, but chose not to. She left and became a knight, but we still need to find out how and why.
The love story is a good one. If you love enemies-to-lovers, slow burn, and fated mates, you’ll love it. This part ties the whole story together, but there’s plenty of action and conniving, so Alina made sure it never got sappy. And then there’s the spicy spice. The only thing I’m going to say about that is: chef’s kiss.
Romantasy Perfection: Swords, Soulmates, and High-Stakes Intrigue!
The Godslayer by Alina Kramer is an absolutely excellent, well-written novel that perfectly blends dark, gritty fantasy with some scorching romance. It immediately captivates you with its unique lore, feisty characters, and a driving plot. At the heart of the story is Lyanndra, the titular Godslayer. She is a phenomenal, strong female protagonist whose backstory and journey to become a fabled knight among her people truly feels unique among fantasy stories that I've read.
After helping win a pivotal battle, she kicks off a period of peace for her people, embracing a life of high adventure and monster-slaying that feels reminiscent of The Witcher. The dynamic between Lyanndra and the Crown Prince, Syran, is electric and smoky hot. This dual POV story delivers thick sexual tension and a whole bucket of yearning. When a magical circumstance throws them together, the story turns the usual stereotypes on their head: Lyanndra is the fierce hero; Syran just wants peace. This creates a powerful connection that amps up the spice and will have you hooked. The novel is also packed with a cast of memorable side characters, palace intrigue, and high-stakes drama that keeps you guessing. The action scenes are fast-paced and epic, and the different perspectives enrich the entire book.
This is the first romantasy title I have ever read, but Alina Kramer has woven such a fun, well-written swords and sorcery epic that I dare say… this won't be my last (at least from this author).
If you like your fantasy full of soulmates, spicy good times, and a well-crafted strong and heroic protagonist, this book is for you!
This is a really well paced, high stakes romantacy novel.
The story is told from 2 points of view - our FMC Lyanndra (The Gogslayer) and our MMC Syran.
When Lyanndra, a Starless (powerless) female kills the king of the Demigods in battle whilst hiding her true identity under a knights armour, she becomes the Godslayer. Beloved by her people and a legend in her own lifetime.
A year later the old Kings son Syran takes part in the ritual to find his Star Bound, a mere formality to prove he doesn’t have a fated other half… but a cruel twist of fate intervenes and he ends up bound to the one person who probably hates him as much as he hates her.
The curse of the Star Bound is to be forever tied - the death of one leads to the madness of the other, but can these two come together to save both their people as a traitorous force creeps through the castle and threatens the delicate peace that has existed since the Godslayer killed the old king?
This book is a masterpiece in pacing and suspense. The tension between our two main characters is delicious as they both try to come to terms with their undeniable connection, so at odds, at least for Lyanndra, with the image of the man she has built up in her mind.
The characters are deep, the world building is image invoking, and the Easter eggs for what will happen in this book (and the ones that I am sure will keep me up at night waiting for the next instalment to see if my theories are right) really draw you in. For me any book that can really get me theorising is one that I will read multiple times and happily recommend so others can share in my delirium!
“Good women don’t fight. Good women don’t kill. But I am not a good woman.”
✨ Enemies to lovers ✨ Warrior FMC x Prince MMC ⚔️👑 ✨ Fated mates ✨ Slow burn + tension you can taste 🔥 ✨ Dual POV ✨ He falls first (delicious) 😏 ✨ Medieval setting 🏰
Lyanndra, our FMC, is a Starless knight who takes down the demigod King of the Celestial Court and becomes the infamous Godslayer, only to end up cursed as the star-crossed love of Prince Syran… the son of the man she killed 😬 The setup alone? Chef’s kiss 😘
“She will not be broken. She will not be erased. And it only makes me want her more.”
I really wanted more of Lyanndra’s backstory. Why does she hate the demigods this much? 🤔 What happened to make her so fiercely closed off? I’m hoping book 2 peels that back more because she’s such an intriguing FMC 👑
“The heavens have deemed you and that pretty young thing in the infirmary as equals in power.” ✨
Their relationship is interesting because you’d assume Syran would be absolutely raging about the whole murdered-my-father situation… but nope. Syran is out here forgiving, softening, and letting destiny do her thing 💞 Meanwhile he’s constantly paying for the sins of said father everywhere he goes, which equals messy, complicated, great tension ⚡
“Let them see that I will turn anybody who touches my star crossed to ash.”
And the plot twist? Did not see it coming. At all 😳 There are hints of a prophecy brewing and I’m betting book 2 is going to dig hard into that 👀
Sometimes books claim enemies to lovers when the characters are really just mildly annoyed with each other. That is absolutely not the case here. This is true, genuine enemies to lovers, and I loved every sharp, tense second of it.
The story throws you straight into the action with no slow buildup, which I personally appreciated. Even starting in the middle of the chaos, nothing feels confusing or rushed. The author reveals what you need to know naturally as the story unfolds, and it works beautifully.
The world building is solid and familiar: those with power live comfortably, while the powerless suffer. It’s not overly complex or flashy, but that feels intentional. This story isn’t really about the world itself, it’s about the people in it, and how their choices, grudges, and growth shape everything around them.
The characters are the true heart of this book. Their dynamic is intense, layered, and emotionally charged. If I have one tiny complaint (and it’s very minor and slightly spoilery), it’s that I wished the enemies phase lasted just a bit longer. Their tension and push-pull while trying to figure each other out was so good that I wasn’t ready to let it go.
Thankfully, while this is part of a series, it does not end on a soul-crushing cliffhanger. Instead, it sets up book two in a way that feels exciting rather than anxiety-inducing, which I deeply appreciate.
A fast-paced, character-driven fantasy with real enemies-to-lovers energy, strong emotional beats, and a satisfying ending. I’m very much looking forward to book two.
Easily 5 stars. 😍 when I heard the pitch “Elden Ring but make it horny” I was instantly sold. But this book is much more!
Kramer has an effortless way to weave both characters and plot into a seamless, beautiful story that will both captivate and leave you begging for book two. If you like gods, soulmates, a spicy good time, and epic battle scenes, this book is for you!
We follow two characters: Lyanndra (The Godslayer) and Syran (the Crown Prince). These two seem an unlikely match, but when they discover they are star crossed lovers, the tension heats between them and trust me, it will have you by the throat! Especially when the stereotypes are turned on its head and Lyanndra is the bad *ss FMC constantly saving Syran!
The setting is dark and gritty, and the tone of the novel is established immediately, leaving your soul both weary and excited for what’s to comes
This dual POV novel effectively dives into both of our protagonist’s heads, establishing clear voices and enriching each scene with their unique perspectives.
The yearning and romance will keep you turning pages well into the night. I know it did for me.
I am excited for a tad more world building as I was left wanting more of the history of the world and the magic system. But that’s the amazing thing: book two is coming out in only a few months 🙌
Huge thanks to the author, Alina Kramer for an ARC of The Godslayer in return for my honest review. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Our stars are crossed. Our souls are bound. We are one.”
I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I say this book had me in a chokehold. We follow our FMC Lyanndra who is Starless (without power), who is undercover as a male knight - the infamous Godslayer who murdered the Demigod king. Lyanndra is the true definition of badass - a feisty woman unashamed of her status who is determined to live and die for her people and what is right.
Our MMC, Syran, is a Demigod and the son of the king killed by Lyanndra so you better believe this is true enemies-to-lovers. Thrust into the role of king with a less than ideal role model, Syran and his cousin Kartas are trying to figure it out as they go and we truly go on that journey with them.
This world feels so intentional and fleshed-out. There are definitely things about the lore we didn’t find out in this book, but again that feels so intentional which just makes me even more excited for book 2, The Midnight Serpent.
Alina’s writing is so immersive which makes for such a bingeable read. I have to mention the magical creatures too, they truly add to the world building and are described in such an incredible way - this world feels so real! The easiest 5⭐️ to give, and I cannot wait for book 2!
"Our stars are crossed. Our souls are bound. We are one." Firstly thank you Alina for my copy of your book in exchange for my review!!
Erm okay so wow. I have truly been so lucky with reading some really good books lately and this is one of them!!! I was honestly obsessed as soon as I started reading.
Lyanndra, a starless maiden disguised as a Knight, kills the demigod king in battle and earns the godslayer title. People assume she is a man... but when a curse involving the stars binds her to the King's son, Syran, people realise she is in fact female and Lyanndra finds herself trying to get her freedom back...
We have REAL enemies to lovers like they hateeeee each other and I eat that up. Then we also have some passion 👀 because they are bonded by the stars, they just can't keep away from the other. We have plenty of "Mine" moments and he tends to her wounds!!! What else could you possibly want? For me, nothing. I enjoyed this so much and the twists and turns in the last 15% had me reading with my jaw open. I actually can't wait for Book 2 and I say that alot but I really mean it 🤣
I 100% recommend this even if you are just looking for a new enemies to lovers read, this is for you!
The Godslayer was such an addictive read. I picked it up thinking I’d just try a couple chapters, and suddenly I was halfway through without even realizing it. If you enjoy fantasy that mixes tension, character chemistry, and high-stakes danger, this one is definitely worth checking out.
Lyanndra was the standout for me. She’s fierce, stubborn, and constantly torn between what she wants and what she’s forced into — and the book does a great job letting you feel every bit of that conflict. Her dynamic with Syran pulled me in way more than I expected. Their bond is messy in the best way: full of frustration, tension, and those moments where you catch yourself rooting for them even though you’re not sure you should.
I also loved the palace intrigue. The plot simmered with secrets and betrayal, and by the time everything started unfolding, I was fully invested in seeing how Lyanndra would survive it all. I especially loved how the story balanced action with emotional moments without slowing things down.
Overall, it’s a gripping fantasy with strong characters, a compelling curse-bond dynamic, and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages. I’d happily read more in this world if the author decides to continue it.
I was happy to read and review @alina_kramer_author book The Godslayer.
When I read if The Witcher and ACOTAR had a weird little baby I had to go apply to read IMMEDIATELY. It did not disappoint. This Romantasy is filled with a dual POV, Swords, Knights, a King, Demi-Gods, and soulmates and lots of intrigue. This story has the following tropes:
- Enemies to lovers - Forced Proximity - Touch Her and Die - Fated Mates - Secret Identity - He falls first - Dark Medieval Romantasy - Slow Burn
This book has a strong-willed FMC who does not hold her tongue with anyone and wants to do what is right and will go up against anyone, even a Demi-God. It also has an MMC who struggles with his fate but once he accepts, he has patience and the YEARNING!!! I love the development of the story for both with Alina giving us a dual POV of the FMC and MMC. I liked hearing how both were thinking of what was currently happening and how they felt about one another. I did not have to wonder, “what would he/she is currently thinking of x situation”. This was such a great story, and I have already asked Alina to get me book two.
imagine a witch is brewing up a potion and in their cauldron is the witcher, elden ring, a dash of spice, a sprinkle of comedy, and a pathetically down bad man.
now you know what you’ll get from the godslayer.
i absolutely demolished this book. ate it up yummy yummy scrumptious.
lyanndra is an fmc i find myself PANTING for. she’s funny, she’s strong, she’s powerful, she’s compassionate. she wields an epic ass greatsword and rides a kelpie. like hello. call me the mmc the way i’m on my knees for her. syran is an equally delicious mmc with the weight of a crown on his head and the ashes of his father’s war covering him. how do they relate, you may ask?
they’re star-crossed. fated by the gods to be together, unable to be separated. unable to die without the survivor going mad. but they’re enemies on opposite sides of a centuries long conflict.
DID I MENTION SCRUMPTIOUS?!?!
lyanndra and syran’s ever shifting dynamic is a joy to witness. the world around them is equally intriguing, with court politics, old gods, and monsters roaming around every shadowy corner.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 If you’re looking for your next fast paced read that keeps you engaged every page, here you have it. Your enemies to lovers trope, fated mates against destiny, a yearning MMC, and the most fearless badass FMC.
Lyanndra is our FMC who has been titled “The Godslayer” after a ferocious battle with the king of the Demigods, she slays him with the hope that peace would be next.
Our MMC and crown prince Syran has two things on his mind, one : peace and two ; could he possibly have a crossed star out there in the world even though promises of him not having one swirl in the back of his mind.
Now the fates have dealt quite the deck to both of our main characters, will peace arise or will violence continue to be dealt for the demigods and the starless…
Alina did such a good job keeping this book fast pace, giving you small details to keep you on your toes about the next thing that will be happening, who the key players are and what their intentions lie and keep you guessing for book two.
I immediately went and bought this after reading it on my kindle and will be waiting ever so patiently for book 2…..(maybe 🤪)
Another ARC reader compared this one to Mulan, and I honestly couldn’t agree more.
The Godslayer is a woman, but she’s also a knight. And knights can’t be women. Do you see the problem?
After slaying the wicked demigod king in battle, the Godslayer now travels the land protecting her people, hidden beneath her armour and the guise of a man. She never speaks, never removes her helm - so no one suspects the truth.
Syran watched his father die on the battlefield, and in that moment his fate changed forever. He’s now to inherit the throne, and he’s promised his betrothed, Ressa, that she’ll be his queen. But when the Ceremony of the Crossed Stars arrives, he’s fated instead… to the Godslayer.
The knight who killed the king is destined to marry the future one. What could possibly go wrong?
Fast-paced and full of yearning, The Godslayer delivers on romance, betrayal, and heat, keeping you hooked right up to its stunning cliffhanger. So… when’s book two? 👀
This story follows the relationship between a fierce female warrior and demigod prince. It has bloody battles, it has deception and it has plenty of spice.
What I loved about this book was that the FMC was a truly fierce character. She was a force to be reckoned with and wielded more power and influence than any other character in the book.
Whilst the MMC was a demigod king… he honestly paled in comparison to the FMC. What made me love his character though… was how he worshipped the FMC. *swoon*
One thing that did frustrate me slightly about the story was that it took little to no time for the MMC and FMC to overcome some pretty engrained prejudices to ultimately realise they were meant to be together. I felt that this aspect of their relationship development wasn’t highlighted as much as it could have been. That being said, the action and pace from the rest of the story line made up for this.
God Slayer has such a unique storyline that immediately hooked me! It definitely gave me all the Mulan feels in the best way. A fierce girl disguised as a warrior? Say less. The FMC is an absolute badass, and I loved that the prince falls first. Their dynamic was chef’s kiss.
The writing itself is strong, with well-crafted fight scenes and a refreshing variety of vocabulary. I could vividly imagine the setting, but I did find myself wishing for more world-building in the beginning. The magic system especially felt a bit rushed… There are clues into types, levels, and the influence of demigod heritage, but I never fully grasped the structure or the broader lore. If there are demigods… who are the actual gods? Are they tied to the stars? I wanted just a little more clarity on that front.
Overall, though, this was a bold, atmospheric start with great character work and a storyline that kept me turning pages. Excited to see where the series goes next!
What can I say! Devoured this book!! Seen it all over my insta! Some people from the street team had read it and was in the arc/street team then I saw a comment on an indie post from (add author ) and I thought I need to read it and I AM SO GLAD I DID!!
The way it is written I was fully immersed in the story! I loved the world building and I lived for the way they are fated and how it happens and I was really feeling the medieval setting vibe too!
Syran the crown prince and lyanndra the bad ass she is have a world wind of a relationship! True enemies to lover style, and he falls first YES YES YES!
I loved how action packed it was and also picking up on the more vulnerable aspects of the story too!
THE ENDING
All I can say is if you haven’t read this add to your TBR immediately! I’m fuming I didn’t read it sooner but I’m so so glad I’ve read it now!!
CANNOT WAIT FOR BOOK 2 I need it yesterday please and thank you.
OOF OK Just finished Godslayer by @alina_kramer_author and maaaaan you have to read this!
If you liked the Witcher but wanted girl power vibes with a mean mouth and the fists to back it up, you will LOVE the FMC😎🔥💗✨🥰
This is a beautiful Romantasy that surrounds itself in intriguing new lore, feisty unpredictable characters, thick sexual tension and whole LOT of yearning. The action scenes were fast paced and I was on the edge of my seat while trying not to skip ahead 😂Overall a fantastic new indie author book that I would love if it got the support it deserved.
Please give it a chance, you won’t regret it💗✨✨✨🥰
-Romantasy -Badass FMC -Yearning MMC -Slow burn -He helps heal her✨✨ -She learns to trust🥰 -REALLY WELL WRITTEN WITH A LITTLE TWIST😏
It’s currently available on Amazon and Barnes and noble.com
If you love a medieval, action packed romance story - this is one for you. Our MC is the Godslayer but what the rest of the world don’t know is that she is in fact, a woman.
Our MMC is the son of the man she killed and what’s refreshing about this story is that the enemies to lovers story line really does start as enemies. Lyanndra HATES him at the start and it takes a good while for her to warm up to him.
The fight scenes were great, really descriptive and reminded me a lot of fight scenes from games such as Elden Ring.
The story doesn’t give a lot of background to the characters which is something I felt missing. We don’t really know much about the FMC and I hope that’s something that will be uncovered in the next book.
Overall this was a really fun read. Thank you Alina for the ARC
I absolutely adore when I pursue an ARC opportunity and that ARC blows me away and such was the case with The Godslayer; with it's strong opening, pacing that builds off each chapter, the plot twists, beautiful writing, and its oh so satisfying ending I couldn't help but devour this book in three days!
The true enemies to lovers was positively delicious, its my favorite trope and it was written so, so well! The warrior FMC who relentlessly earned her way in the world? Yes, give me more! The MMC who falls first and falls hard? I live for it! The tension, the yearning, the banter- I ate it up.
This debut romantasy is an exceptional piece of work with equal parts romance and plot done so well. Definitely a top read for me!
I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite reads. It was fast paced and a great enemies to lovers story. It has 2 different perspectives, one from The Godslayer (fmc) and the other from Syran (mmc). I absolutely loved the flow of the perspective changes from chapter to chapter. Sometimes books that change perspectives get messy or have big gaps but this picks up right where the last chapter ended. There is simplicity to the story, with main focus on the two main characters, but I loved the relationship and dynamic development between the mmc and fmc and the fact that it wasn’t immediate a little longing and some really nice spice. All in all, I loved it and highly recommend. The Midnight Serpent can’t come fast enough.
The Godslayer is the fantastic first instalment of the star crossed crown series. A powerful FMC, Lyanndra, that can slay a god, finds herself connected by fate to the crown prince of the people she swore to destroy, the demigods. Now she must decide on one thing, her word to her people … or him.
This is a steamy, thrilling tale of enemies to lovers, and powerful ones at that. And that’s not all! The plot and character development is chefs kiss, creating a unputdownable reading experience. Kramer’s writing will truly have you gripped. The twists and turns of this story will have you ignoring any responsibilities, desperate to read more.
