"...one hell of an interesting, entertaining, and well-written account of the trials and tribulations of Sepultura's thirty year long career." - Eternal Terror Webzine
"RELENTLESS is mandatory reading for any and all Sepultura fans past and present." - Metal-Rules.com
"It's awesome." - Andreas Kisser, Sepultura
In the first complete biography of Metal legends Sepultura’s epic career, Sao Paulo-based US author Jason Korolenko tells the remarkable story of how Brazil’s biggest musical act came to sell over 20 million albums world-wide.
From their beginnings playing music that could have seen them arrested, through three decades of success, struggle and strife and including new details about members leaving, Relentless uncovers the story of one of the world’s most influential Metal acts. Written with the support of the band, it is illustrated with over 70 photos, many from the band's personal archives, and most previously unseen.
Jason Korolenko is a musician, writer, and raconteur. His book, RELENTLESS: 30 YEARS OF SEPULTURA, a complete biography covering the struggles, strife, and successes of Brazil's most popular musical export, Sepultura, has been published in four languages worldwide. His novel, THE DAY I LEFT, drove Orion Book Award winner Craig Childs to declare, "I'm walking away from this book feeling dizzy and uncertain of my own circumstance," and was hailed by renowned author Charlie Stella as "a fine debut by a writer with international flare and solid insight into the mania we each, every one of us, carry within our tortured souls."
This book is for big fans of Sepultura only. While I found a lot of the information interesting, and got some insight into the songwriting process for each album, this was clearly thrown together by a non-professional. I was hoping for more insight into the band and their creative process!
