Ethan had enough on his plate as the pack healer. Mates were a distraction he couldn’t afford. So when an arrogant new wolf swaggered into Pecan Pines, Ethan planned to keep his distance. But Dean was impossible to ignore, and even harder to resist.
Dean didn’t come looking for a mate. He left his old pack behind for a clean slate and a shot at becoming Pecan Pines’ next enforcer. Proving himself meant staying focused, not getting tangled up with the guarded healer who kept catching his eye. But Ethan saw through Dean’s charm, challenged his temper, and made him want something deeper.
Dean’s cocky attitude and reckless choices stir up tension in the tight-knit pack, and may cost him his shot at belonging. As danger brews on the outskirts of town, Ethan must decide if he can trust Dean not just with the pack’s safety... but with his heart.
This is the seventh book in the Pecan Pines series and it can be enjoyed as a standalone read. Each book focuses on a different couple and this time the focus is on Dean and Ethan. Dean, formally of the Thornbane Pack and brother to the new pack Alpha, is leaving his brother's pack and joining the Pecan Pines pack in hopes of becoming an enforcer. Knowing that he can never submit to his brother, he leaves because if he stays it will divide the pack. Ethan is one of the pack's healers. He has been doing the job for a while but he doesn't have confidence in his abilities. One Dean's introduction meeting, he ends up getting into a fight with Griffon, the enforcer trainer. The two meet when Ethan has to deal with all the resulting injuries. Dean knows that Ethan is his mate and recognizes that he can't just rush in and try to overwhelm Ethan. So he is doing his best to move slowly. Not a speed he is used to using. This is their story. I really enjoyed this book. It is well written and easy to read. I loved watching their relationship grow. I look forward to the next book in this series.

I really enjoyed this story and recommend the whole series to those who enjoy a good MM PNR romance. Dean is from the Thornebane pack who have a bad reputation for causing trouble and fighting continuously. When Dean challenges Griffin from the Pecan Pines pack, he is injured and requires the services of the pack healer. His wolf recognises that Ethan is his mate. Ethan is the healer from the Pecan Pines pack and when he meets Dean, he is angry with him for causing a ruckus in the Packhouse. Overtime, these two find their relationship develops until Ethan finally accepts that Dean is his mate.. there’s a lot going on in the pack and when Ethan‘s life is in danger, Dean is there to save him and the other wolves who are in danger as well. I enjoyed the action and the drama, and eventually the happily ever after that Dean and Ethan have to look forward to.

Good story! Ethan, is the assistant pack healer. His boss, Devon must suddenly take off and leave Ethan in charge. Ethan is surprised and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Dean, is new to the pack. He hopes to become an envorcer. He has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and always feels as if he needs to prove himself. He is attracted to Ethan and feels compelled to be near him always while also being socially awkward on a good day. Ethan, feeling the pressure, thinks he has no time for Dean and wants to focus on serving the pack only. Dean and Ethan are really nice guys. Both men are in new challenging circumstances that personally and professionally challenge them. Great story of finding one's self worth while an enemy is challenging the pack and Ethan and Dean are carrying heavy loads of insecurity. The author does a great job, showing our men working to face their fears. Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
'What Carter didn’t see, what nobody did, was that I acted out because it was easier than feeling like I wasn’t enough. I’d learned a long time ago that people didn’t ask questions if you gave them a reason to back off.'
I loved this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I loved both Ethan and Dean. I liked the dynamic between them and the way their relationship developed. I liked the parallel between them both wanting to stay focused on their respective goals/jobs, despite their pull to each other. I especially loved Dean. He had a huge chip on his shoulder after been treated as a screwup and a useless kid in his own pack his whole life. He was quick to act and determined to prove his place and be accepted. I loved his first sight of Ethan from his perspective. Awestruck. Ethan's first sight- well it wasn't so impressed.
This was such a fun, sweet hurt/comfort romance. I was hooked. 5 stars
This is book 7 in the Pecan Pines series by Fel Fern and Kara Kit. When I saw this one on Booksprout I couldn't wait to see what happens next in the series.
Dean, formally of the Thornbane Pack and brother to the pack Alpha, is leaving his brother's pack and joining the Pecan Pines pack in hopes of becoming an enforcer. If he can't tame his behavior he may end up right where he started.
Ethan, is a healer working under the current Pecan Pines head healer. He doesn't feel like he has the skills to be a good healer and is always doubting his abilities.
Mates, one hot head, one overwhelmed and overworked, danger is lurking, they both must learn valuable lessons, packs handle things together
Dean is from the Thornbane pack where his brother Carter is alpha. He isn’t completely comfortable in his home pack. He is going to Pecan Pines to see if he can make a new life there. The first day he gets into a fight with Griffin the head trainer for enforcer’s. He also meets Ethan a healer for the pack, and angers Cooper the pack alpha. This book is full of danger, romance, community and respect.
This is the seventh book in the Pecan Pines series and this is Ethan and Dean’s story which is another great addition. Dean and Ethan’s chemistry is great and I liked that there was plenty going on in the story but you could see how they were connecting and helping each other but didn’t jump straight into the fated mates relationship but eventually they got there and I think it make their relationship stronger.
This was a really enjoyable story! Dean came from the Thornebane pack to pecan pines looking for a fresh start where he meets Ethan the pack healer and feels instant attraction. They both had great chemistry they are a really sweet couple! This is a great book I really recommend the whole series.

Ethan gains the confidence he needs to do his job while Dean learns that he doesn't have to be solo anymore.
Dean is trying to get into the Pecan Pines Pack as an enforcer. Ethan is a healer who treats him when he gets injured. They both realize there is something between them, but with the wild wolves attacking it becomes harder and harder to get the time together. A great story and a wonderful addition to the series. Highly Recommended
Ethan finds his fated for the first time bloody and bruised. Dean is struck by love at first sight upon seeing Ethan for the first time. The two dance around each other before coming to the conclusion they are mates. Great book with some action thrown in!.

Just love these Pecan Pine stories. Ethan is one of the two healers for the Pecan Pine pack who meets Dean, the younger brother of Carter of Thornebane pack. Dean has gone to Pecan Pine pack to be an enforcer but has to relearn how to be a pack member in a pack very different from his brother's. Ethan reluctantly admits he likes Dean. Their HEA is a must-read.
Dean needed a new beginning and Pecan Pines was just the right place to find it. He ended up finding something so much more.
Dean and Ethan were sweet together. They needed each other a lot more than they realised. They needed someone to believe in them and they supported and protected each other.
Amazing book!
