4.5 ⭐️. This was a surprisingly emotional read. Phoenix/Ali-Mae has been through it in her life and has shut everyone out until Twister/Benson comes along. His strength and belief in her, his unwavering support. It’s beautiful.
- ONS to trust to love
- Protective MMC; he will and does kill for her. He was a manwhore but is direct and open about it w her.
- Third act separation - I don’t like it; but they stayed true to each while they were separated.
- Communication - She, for good reason, is holding a lot of secrets/pain/past trauma. He knows this and doesn’t press her for answers. He is straightforward with her about everything in his life which allows her to trust him. The way he shows his care and respect for her is everything.
- No OM/No cheating - There is a woman, Lyla, at the clubhouse who has been a past/frequent partner of Twister’s, but he makes it plain to her more than once that they are through. Once Twister and Phoenix are together, there is no one else.
- Spice - the chemistry between these two is 🔥. It starts early and continues throughout. Bc of her trauma she has lots of rules initially and it’s lovely to see Ben’s respect for her boundaries and then her slowly drop each and every one as they get closer.
- Mental health rep - She gets therapy in the epilogue
- Nicknames - he calls her Sparky and she calls him Brown-eyes/daddy.
- Dual POV; HEA. 3 yr later epilogue w baby.
Twister is 41 and the VP of the Stallion motorcycle club. We know that he sleeps around w the “sheep” at the MC clubhouse, that he isn’t serious about any of them, and isn’t looking for any sort of relationship. Phoenix is 32 ( i think?) and has been the bartender at their local spot for 6 years. She is pint sized, but tough, no nonsense and carries a knife on her thigh at all times. She knows the members of the club but does not socialize or sleep w any of them.
These two have known each other, but only get together when they are both bored at Jed/Alexias wedding. They have an insanely hot ONS and Twister is hooked.
The tension in the story comes from Phoenix/Ali-Mae’s past trauma. Because of things in her past, she doesn’t feel worthy of love or really a happy life. And there are multiple points of trauma that she is hiding and trying to deal with… she tries and desperately wants to live in the moment w Ben until two separate demons literally show up at her door.
The author did a beautiful job of letting us see the different sides of her as Phoenix, the kick ass bartender, and the softer side of Ali-Mae, who considers her home her sanctuary and tends a beautiful garden, reads, and loves flower print dresses. She also showed us the difference between Benson and Twister and how his affection and respect for her grow and then increase more as he learned of her trauma and how she’s survived it. He views her as a “warrior” and I loved how she would repeat his phrases of safety and validation in her head.
The third act separation occurs when her demons arrive at her door and she needs to tell Ben all about her past. She is truthful but believes that her past makes her unlovable and doesn’t believe him when he tells her the opposite. She pushes him away and runs; he lets her know that he will wait for her and he does. She fights for them in her own way and comes back to him able to fully embrace herself and him.
I have to admit that I thought the end was a bit abrupt and I would have loved one more chapter with them together before the epilogue. But that’s just me being greedy.

ARC review
I actually don’t even know where to start because I’m devastated that this is the end of this series but also whattttttt a way to go out!!!!!
Having previously met Phoenix, the feisty bar tender and Twister in the other Stallion books, I thought I knew how their story was going to go. But mam’ I was unprepared for these two.
Phoenix and Twister throw a bit of caution to the wind and decide to have one night together after their friends wedding. When one night isn’t enough, Twister asks for more and just when Phoenix might be letting her gigantic walls down, her past shows up to haunt her.
Twister - what an absolute DADDY!!!!! He exuded alpha energy. He wasn’t romance and flowers but he would take down anyone who came for Phoenix. The man has the patience of a saint and it was crazy how well he could see Phoenix for who she really was. He got a peek under the mask pretty quickly and he wasn’t letting her go after that. So hot, so masculine…just the kind of guy who wears no cologne but smells amazing ya know.
Phoenix is my girl. So strong for too long, when she finally let Twister in, it was like she could breathe again. For someone who guarded, she was so vulnerable and still broken inside from her past. She takes her own journey to acceptance and also the journey of letting in her found family. Her past was devastating and oh the plot twists she had thrown at her.
This ending for the series was just so so sooooo good. I loved getting to still see glimpses of the whole crew, it’s like watching an episode of your favourite show.

Phoenix and Twister have my heart. I loved this one!
I loved Phoenix, she’s probably a top FMC for me. I loved her depth, her pain, her anguish, how she rose from the ashes of a very very hard past.
Twister our MMC, is excellent. He lived “Ali” through all of her pain and always allowed her the space at all time to be, do and feel everything she needed to at all times was the best to read.
This is my fave of the series!

INFINITY STARS!!! ♾️ This book is so much more than a Motorcycle club romance—it’s the MC version of Redeeming love! 🥹 it is spicy and gritty and fun and full of depth and meaning and connection! Follow the trigger warnings and hang on for the ride of your life! Twister and Phoenix are everything! Annie pours her heart into her stories! Phoenix. This is my girlllll. The bartender at the Wild Stallions MC bar. Unapologetically herself. She was broken, she was guarded, she was vulnerable. With the trauma from her past, she’d been SO strong and had walls built up for so long but when she finally let Twister in, she was able to just BE. “I wasn’t a girl anymore. I wasn’t trapped anymore. I was FREE.” She absolutely lived up to her name. Phoenix: a mythical bird known for its ability to be reborn from its own ashes. And Twister. VP of the Wild Stallions. Whew. This man. Ultimate green flag. Masculine. Daddy. Alpha energy. Rough around the edges. After what was supposed to be a one-night-stand, he couldn’t stop thinking about our girl. He was down badddd and would have put down anyone who came at Phoenix. The way he goes to battle for her? Perfection. And I loved that he wasn’t afraid to push her boundaries, in a respectful way. He makes her feel safe, seen. When their worlds collide, it’s a wild wild ride that had me raging at those who hurt Phoenix, tearing up as she fought her way back, and blushing on more accounts than one.

Annie Winston is a new author to me and she is now stuck with me! I absolutely devoured this series after it was recommended to me! I will always be grateful to Ashley for the rec and basically telling me to start this series NOW!
Phoenix and Twister are the last couple in The Wild Stallions series and man did it end on the highest of highs!! I don’t want to say too much because I love to go in blind to a story and this one for sure…going in blind…was the right choice! There is a little mystery and learning the ends and outs of that mystery is truly heartbreaking! Watching Benson (Twister) be the absolute best patient man, while making a safe place for Ali Mae (Phoenix) and showing her the love and respect she so desperately needs and craves is truly beautiful! The way this man went to BATTLE for her was truly just sweet sweet perfection! Twister is 100% a green walking flag! Now I mean yes…are there some morally grey things happening…Yes…But I do stand by Green Flag Twister!

*ARC Review*
Gah Twister and Phoenix have easily taken the top spot as my favorite stallion couple.
Phoenix is a certified badass and a total black cat and I absolutely love her. She is the bar manager and won’t take shit from any man. She is feisty and a total spit fire, but she is also a total girly girl and super vulnerable deep down. She has that hard exterior to protect her broken pieces. Phoenix hides herself from everyone - except when she finally lets Twister in.
Twister was unexpected and I am obsessed with him. He’s the VP of the Stallions and not one to settle down, never really wanting to have an ol’ lady like his brothers. He is protective and honest and I loved the way he handled Phoenix and her traumas. He gave her space when necessary, but also pushed her when needed. He knocked down her walls piece by piece and allowed her to trust him with the most vulnerable parts of herself. Twister was the ultimate cinnamon roll and I couldn’t have asked for a better MMC to finish off this series.
Their chemistry was hot and what started as a one night thing quickly turned into an obsession for both of them. The spice was spicy and I just couldn’t get enough 🥵 I loved the banter and their connection. You could see Twister falling hard and fast for Phoenix and you could see her fighting those same feelings, warring with her self deprecating thoughts. I admired her strength and her tenacity and how she worked so hard to overcome all her past hardships.
I’m sad this series is over, but absolutely cannot wait to see what Annie writes next.

Gah Twister and Phoenix have easily taken the top spot as my favorite stallion couple.
Phoenix is a certified badass and a total black cat and I absolutely love her. She is the bar manager and won’t take shit from any man. She is feisty and a total spit fire, but she is also a total girly girl and super vulnerable deep down. She has that hard exterior to protect her broken pieces. Phoenix hides herself from everyone - except when she finally lets Twister in.
Twister was unexpected and I am obsessed with him. He’s the VP of the Stallions and not one to settle down, never really wanting to have an ol’ lady like his brothers. He is protective and honest and I loved the way he handled Phoenix and her traumas. He gave her space when necessary, but also pushed her when needed. He knocked down her walls piece by piece and allowed her to trust him with the most vulnerable parts of herself. Twister was the ultimate cinnamon roll and I couldn’t have asked for a better MMC to finish off this series.
Their chemistry was hot and what started as a one night thing quickly turned into an obsession for both of them. The spice was spicy and I just couldn’t get enough 🥵 I loved the banter and their connection. You could see Twister falling hard and fast for Phoenix and you could see her fighting those same feelings, warring with her self deprecating thoughts. I admired her strength and her tenacity and how she worked so hard to overcome all her past hardships.
I’m sad this series is over, but absolutely cannot wait to see what Annie writes next.

Wow, just wow Annie, you’ve well and truly out done yourself with this final instalment of the series.
Ridin’ Free is simply amazing, I couldn’t put it down (apart from when I fell asleep). The story, the spice, the heartache, the learning about love and companionship, learning to trust. Just everything, it was written so well.
Twister, the MMC is morally grey with touch her die morals, yet is the most loving and gentle man with his beard and gorgeous long hair. The patience, respect and love he has for Phoenix is astounding and the levels he will go to protect her so high.
Phoenix, the FMC is equally as morally grey, but in a different way. She knows how to protect herself, she has had no one fight her corner or have her back. When she moved to Gillette she made a name for herself so people would stay away from her, but that didn’t mean people didn’t like her or respect her, and she found her family without even knowing.

Ok, but I didn't want this series to end. What do I do now? I need more. Y'all, I really mean it when I say go download this series it's SO good. Book three was just AMAZING. I loved it so much, the found family is just so beautifully done in this series and even more so in this last book. It was really fast-paced with some twists I didn't see coming!! I just had a really good time reading this.

Thank you @annie.winston_author for the ARC, it feels like I have waited forever for Ridin Free but it was worth the wait. You absolutely broke me with this one - I will never be the same again. I am so sad this is the last book in the trilogy but so pleased I found this series.
Annie writes amazing characters and she has done it again with Phoenix and Twister. My favourite FMC and MMC of the series.
I adore Phoenix, she is an absolute QUEEN and I will hear nothing bad said about her. She might still be working it out, she might make mistakes but she is herself throughout and I love her for that.
Twister is the MMC of dreams. He is delicious and I am obsessed with him. He is the book boyfriend of dreams. He is patient, he is kind, a man of few words but a whole heap of action and he is an absolute daddy.

I will never forget this back cat x German shepherd couple. Like never ever. Phoenix and Twister and this one night stand to more motorcycle romance is my newest obsession and go-to recommendation. The character development, interaction and growth…complete with the spice and the banter, are top tier. Phoenix has always been feisty and aloof as the bartender of an establishment frequented by the Stallions, a local motorcycle club. Twister, a club member with a heart of gold, is there to tear down her walls, support and protect her through any destruction (but he has to get her to realize this first!). There is initial steam and spice, but eventual passion and intimacy. Oh my goodness, their journey was so compelling—once I started this book I could not put it down. I knew it was going to be good as I loved the first two Wild Stallion books, but this one…this one is my favorite. The vibes, the emotions, the immersive characters and intriguing romantic plot, the found family and trauma healing aspects…all of it was just so good. Exemplary redemption romance!

Annie Winston is a relative newcomer to the author scene, and I have been with her since the beginning. Her first series had me hooked on her writing, and this second impressed me with her growth.
What a way to end a series, but personally, I hope we are not done with the Wild Stallions. I loved Phoenix since we first met her. She is feisty, sassy, strong, and stands up for herself. I knew she had a story, but I was not prepared for what it was. She has walls, is guarded, and has reasons for all of her actions. She has one face for the public, but safely behind the walls of her sanctuary, she is color and light.
Twister is the Wild Stallions VP, rough around the edges, not a romantic bone in his body, but he is the one to see Phoenix. She feels safe with him, enough to start cracking the walls, she lets him see her vulnerability, and never judges. As her past appears more than once, oh, those plot twists! He supports her and heals the cracks.
The ending is perfect, and I am hoping it is a goodbye for now.

Everything Annie writes is amazing. She puts so much thought and detail into every book and makes them a true masterpiece. I read this book in one day. I couldn’t stop once I opened it. I am sad to see this series end. These 3 books can be read as a standalone but if you read them in order you get more background and you can watch the story unfold. I recommend you read them all. You won’t regret it.
I love that Phoenix is such a badass FMC. She is a beautiful spitfire that has a don’t mess with me attitude that has also earned her the respect she deserves. Twister is morally grey, protective, sexy, and the sweetest MMC. These two have it all. These two may be my new favorite couple. They were ment for each other. It was so a wild ride as Phoenix and Twisters story unfolded. They went from a one night stand to working through years of trauma and hurt and making something beautiful for themselves. This book has it all, romance friendship, grit, spice. It was also a fun added bonus to see what the other stallions from the previous books were up to.

Always keeping everyone at arm’s length, she lets down her guard at a wedding and hooks up with Twister. As their physical relationship heats up, he starts to demolish the walls she has to protect herself.
Phoenix often needs to ground herself by having an internal mantra that she is safe. When she is around Twister, it is easy for her to feel that safety because he is so intuitive to her needs. He isn’t afraid to push her limits while also maintaining her boundaries. Total green flag.
This was a wholly satisfying conclusion to the Wild Stallions series. It can be read as a standalone.

I cried, laughed, got angry, and had every other emotion you can think of!

Phoenix and Twister have truly captured a small corner of my heart. Their narrative is rich with depth and filled with tension. Phoenix is a powerful force; she is relentless and bold, yet she carries this raw vulnerability that makes her incredibly relatable. She is a storm. Twister, on the other hand, is the ideal counterpart to her tempest. He provides her with a sense of safety and visibility she deserves, never pushing her too hard, always waiting until she's ready. His quiet strength is beautiful. He is the perfect calm to Phoenix's storm wrapped up in a rough around the edges, super hot, bearded biker. The character growth, the pacing, the twists and turns, and the SPICE ... I just cannot recommend this book and this series enough.

The way the book is written has you wanting more, I couldn’t put it down, the characters twister and phoenix are amazing!!! And twister is absolutely swoon worthy. I will keep saying this, Annie knows how to write a MMC.
Phoenix lives up to her name by definition: a mythical bird known for its ability to be reborn from its own ashes. Phoenix has had a tough go at it in life. She likes to keep people at a distance, her home is her sanctuary, and her walls are built around her for reasons. She is unapologetically herself. Twister, VP of the Wild Stallion MC, is rough around the edges but is the one person that people can count on. After what is suppose to be a one night stand, Twister does not let up in pursuing Phoenix. Phoenix needs to feel safe and has to remind herself that she is. What she doesn't expect is the safety she feels around Twister and it scares her. Twister isn't afraid to push her boundaries in a respectful way. He knows how strong she is and wants to be that person for her. But the past for both of them does not always stay in the past. Both their worlds will collide and it is a ride.
Twister is the ultimate green flag. He is everything!! I would not complain seeing him by vehicle every night waiting for me...swoon. He is the ultimate DADDY.

As someone who has lived in the area this book takes place… I love that so many smaller places surrounding it was including. And that so many places in town was included as well.
Watching him break her walls down, and then falling in love was adorable, and perfect. The fact that he chased her, and even though he walked away to give her space but never giving up that she would come back. Can we all just meet a man like this!

Ali and Benson are seriously my favourite!
They are meant to be together! Seriously i want a love like they have! He knows what she needs without her having to ask for it, he takes care of her no matter what, he also loves her fiercely!

They are meant to be together! Seriously i want a love like they have! He knows what she needs without her having to ask for it, he takes care of her no matter what, he also loves her fiercely!

I think this may be my favorite couple of the three. ( All 3 are great though! )
Twister doesn’t give up on getting his girl. He knew she needed time and a little space.

Ive just finished Twister and Phoenix’s story, and im feeling bittersweet knowing it’s the final chapter of the Wild Stallions MC series. I’ve truly loved my time in Gillette. Their journey is so fitting to their names: Phoenix rising from the ashes of her past and Twister crashing into her life and turning everything upside down in the best way. Twister never wavered, he believed in Phoenix even when she couldn’t believe in herself. Seeing Phoenix grow and heal, finally seeing her own self worth was powerful. This story is a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t fix you, but the right person can help you see that you were never broken to begin with.

Anni has done it again. This is one of my favorite series. This book is everything and then some. The spice was great. Twister and Phoenix are so amazing, their patience and protectiveness over each other made me love them. I think everyone needs a Twister in their life. Phoenix is such an amazing person and so strong. It was amazing in every way. I loved this book.
