The Invisible Corpse: A Matinee Classics Cozy Mystery

Rate this book
A picturesque home with a view to die for.
Nice and cozy, until a body is spotted hanging from the rafters.

Stevie agrees to help her former teacher box up her home, just before someone reports a body hanging in the house next door. But when the police come to investigate, the victim is gone, along with any sign that a crime has been committed.

When the police decide that someone with an overactive imagination cried wolf, Stevie once again decides to investigate. If only her friends and family didn’t look at her like she’s trying to find a killer just to get attention.

The clock is ticking and Stevie has to solve this mystery before the opportunity—like the body—vanishes.

If you like your murder mysteries set in a seaside town with quirky characters, Hollywood classics, and a dash of humor, this series is for you!

An addictive series perfect for cozy mystery fans. Join Stevie as she navigates a new chapter in her life, facing her past while learning new things about herself—especially her penchant for solving mysteries. The Matinee Classics Mysteries are clean enough to read aloud at family dinners. No swearing, gore, or scenes to make anyone blush. Each mystery is a standalone, but reading in order is best to avoid spoilers.

In The Invisible Corpse, the first question is whether there is a body of just imagination run wild? It vanishes not just once, but twice! I love this series with the classic movie tie ins, the ladies who own the theater and Stevie's extended family. This murder is a real puzzler, starting with the disappearing body and no one reported missing. With sheriff Mitch not in the detective's inner circle, just getting info is not the easiest. Stevie is the one working in the neighborhood where the murder occurs, so she keeps her eyes and ears open! With a few creepy discoveries and no obvious suspects, , it will require all of Stevie's ingenuity to figure out this puzzle! I could not put it down!

I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed the first book in this series, so I borrowed the second and definitely wasn’t disappointed in it either. There was a real assortment of characters in this book, and any of those could’ve been the killer of the local homeless woman Stevie’s dog found dead. When another body dropped, Stevie started wondering if she’d be the third. Will she make it out alive to show another classic movie? Find out in this book! I’ve actually got the next book so I hope to read it soon!
