My neighbour says he didn’t kill his wife. But I saw him.
When my doorbell camera alerts me to movement in the middle of the night, I’m instantly awake.
Our road is usually quiet, it’s why we live here. My ears strain for sounds inside the house as my heart hammers in my chest. This can’t be happening to us, I tell myself, not again…
My hands shake as I squint at the screen, but the camera is trained on the house across the street. I watch my neighbour as he struggles to lift something large into his car in the pouring rain. I only met Fraser and his wife Anna a few days ago when they moved in, but there’s something about him I don’t trust.
The next day, Anna has vanished. Fraser tells us she’s visiting family, but she told me she didn’t have any, it’s why she wanted to make friends here. Then I think of the bruises I saw on her arms, and the way I’d felt sure she was about to confide in me the last time we were alone…
I am convinced I am the only one who knows the truth. But the secret inside number 7is more dangerous than I ever imagined. And now I’m not sure I will make it out alive…
A gripping and page-turning thriller that will leave you on the edge of your seat. Packed with twists, this psychological thriller is perfect for fans of Freida McFadden’s The Housemaid, The Girl on the Train and Colleen Hoover’s Verity.

Becca Day lives in Surrey with her husband, two daughters and cocker spaniel. She studied acting at Guildford College and went on to start her own Murder Mystery theatre troup. It was this move that inspired her love of crime fiction, and when she sold the company she threw herself head first into crime writing. Her short fiction has won several prizes and The Girl Beyond The Gate is her first full-length novel. Aside from writing, she is also an avid reader and runs Reading Parties with fellow author William Shaw.
When startlingly gorgeous couple Anna and Fraser move into Number 7, they seem like the perfect new neighbors - until Miranda witnesses suspicious activity at their house on her doorbell camera, and Anna suddenly vanishes. Fraser insists she’s visiting family, but the bruises Miranda spotted on her arms, the lies Anna told him, and the footage caught on a doorbell camera suggest otherwise. Convinced something sinister is happening behind closed doors, Miranda is determined to uncover the truth.
"The Secret at Number 7" is basically "Rear Window" reimagined for the digital age, where suspicion comes not from a telescope but a doorbell camera, minus the agoraphobia. With an unreliable narrator haunted by past trauma, a seemingly peaceful neighborhood, and a shady new neighbor, Becca Day sets the stage for a tightly wound, paranoia-laced thriller.
The story is full of tension and twisty turns, resulting in a binge-worthy listen that I devoured in one sitting. Even though the final twist was the least surprising piece of the puzzle, the journey there was so unhinged - in the best possible way - that it hardly mattered.
I listed to the audiobook, which is outstanding: Daphne Kouma and Melanie Crawley deliver sharp, perfectly paced performances that capture both the creeping dread and the emotional volatility of the characters. Between the taut writing and top-notch narration, this is a thriller that lands exactly where it should: entertaining, addictive, and just believable enough to make you glance nervously at your own neighbors.
Many thanks to Bookouture Audio for providing me with an ARC of the audiobook via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Miranda has new neighbours, Anna and Fraser. When she greets them she is in awe by Anna and gravitates towards her immediately. The same cant be said for Fraser. He is cold and unwelcoming. One night Miranda witnesses Fraser leaving his home in the early hours of the morning with a large suitcase and it only gets weirder as Anna is now nowhere to be seen. Where has she gone? Miranda is going to get involved and try and solve the mystery.
I am so glad I requested the audiobook on Netgalley when I read the blurb. The narrator did such an amazing job and had me locked in from the jump. I love me a nosy neighbour that doesn’t know how to mind their business and the main character delivered.
I did not see the twist coming and my Flabbers were Ghasted! I truly couldn’t put it down. The book had all the popcorn thriller components. ✔️ Drama, ✔️ Stupid Decisions ✔️ Characters you will love to hate ✔️ Being blindsided
I have read this author works before and I will say I think this is my favourite book by her thus far. Criticisms for this book would be I wish it was more show than tell and it did have some unnecessary fillers that could have been removed for a quicker read, but all in all it was a very enjoyable book.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- pre read Saw the blurb on Netgalley and requested it so quick! Just got approved and i am buzzed to read this! Let the drama begin! 💛🤍💛
Becca Day is the undisputed master of domestic suspense.
SOME SECRET WARNINGS ABOUT THIS "SECRET" BOOK: 1) Be prepared for twist after twist after twist after twist! 2) This is NOT your "typical" nosy neighbor book. 3) Just when you think you have everything figured out: You haven't!
Becca Day's writing is sharp and cinematic, instantly pulling you into the storyline.
This relentlessly pacey and riveting thriller is unputdownable, unpredictable. and character-driven.
WHY NOT 5 STARS? Some of the twists push believability, especially the book's final sucker punch.
I listened to the audiobook, expertly narrated by Daphne Kouma and Melanie Crawley.
Both narrators gave outstanding performances.
Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This thriller immediately pulled me in with its “Rear Window” vibes. Did Miranda’s neighbor kill his wife or is Miranda assuming things that are without merit? Is she a nosey neighbor or a concerned citizen? The plot is full of twists and turns and somewhat scandalous. I was entertained and the conclusion had me on the edge of my seat. The narration added intensity and suspense, while bringing the story to life. Very chilling! Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.
I was totally addicted to the first part of this suspenseful story, full of secrets, scandal and deception. As Miranda"s obsession with her new neighbors escalates, I wasn't sure if her paranoia was valid or if she was totally delusional. But when the POV shifted, I felt that most of the mystery had been revealed and the second part of the book lacked the sense of urgency that made the first part so compelling. And the ending, though action-packed, was a little too OTT. But overall, this was a twisty, entertaining read that kept me turning the pages.
“A quiet cul-de-sac, a glamorous new neighbor, and a missing wife… but not everything at Number 7 is what it seems.” 🕵️♀️🏡 ARC Audiobook Review — The Secret at Number 7 by Becca Day Narrated by Daphne Kouma & Melanie Crawley
👀 So what’s it about?
On the surface, this quiet cul-de-sac should be the picture of peace… but when Anna moves into Number 7 with her husband, Fraser, everything changes.
We meet Miranda, a woman still scarred by a traumatic home invasion (so briefly touched on I almost missed it). She suffers from severe anxiety and watches the neighborhood constantly through her doorbell camera. When Anna arrives — glamorous, gracious, and seemingly eager to connect — Miranda is instantly drawn to her. But Fraser? Something about him feels wrong. And when Anna suddenly disappears, Miranda becomes convinced Fraser is responsible.
Obsessed, Miranda throws herself into finding the truth, even as her husband and the police dismiss her fears. But when the narrative shifts into Anna’s perspective, the story takes a sharp, unsettling turn. Without spoiling anything: Anna is far more dangerous than Miranda — or we, as readers — ever suspected.
👍 What worked
✨ The premise is strong — a seemingly idyllic neighborhood hiding dark secrets is always a favorite thriller setup. ✨ Miranda’s anxiety-driven obsession with her neighbors felt real and unsettling, making her a believable unreliable narrator. ✨ The POV shift halfway through gives the book a jolt of energy and reframes the entire mystery.
👎 What didn’t land for me
⚠️ The traumatic event in Miranda’s past (the home invasion) deserved more depth — it was mentioned almost in passing, yet clearly shaped her entire character. ⚠️ The plot branched into too many directions, creating a chaotic flow that pulled me away from the central suspense. ⚠️ On audio, the narrators’ voices weren’t distinct enough — I often struggled to tell which POV I was in.
🕯️ Final Thoughts
I wanted to love this one more than I did. The bones of a strong domestic thriller are here, and the conclusion was ultimately satisfying. But the pacing, chaotic twists, and lack of distinction between voices kept it from reaching the heights of the thrillers it’s marketed alongside (The Housemaid, The Girl on the Train, Verity). Those comparisons set a high bar — and for me, The Secret at Number 7 didn’t quite clear it.
That said, if you enjoy suburban secrets, unreliable narrators, and slow-burning neighborhood suspense, you may still find yourself pulled in.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 stars from me)
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Bookouture Audio, and Becca Day for the ARC and the chance to share my honest thoughts.
omg what did i just listen to. This was a high quality edge of your seat pov listen as you are treated to the what should i do if i think my new neighbor has done something really bad but i cant prove it. The new neighbors have their own secrets and perceptions are everything in this case. I love the unraveling and the neighbors pov blew my mind as it touched on things from both an emotive and practical pov, it did make me think she was very twisted but really she just wanted to be loved and becasue she had found a way to get this she was determined to keep getting whoever she wants regardless. The fact that the main character had no real idea about her and just thought she was being nice and friendly really kept me listening as it made it feel more real. The twist at the end although ott was perfect. Highly recommend this 5 star listen. Thanks netgallery, publisher, author and narrator.
The Couple at Number 7 had an intriguing premise that pulled me in right away. The story kept a steady pace with some well-placed twists, though a few moments felt a little drawn out and required some suspension of disbelief. Still, I found myself invested in seeing how everything unfolded.
The dual narration by Daphne Kouma and Melanie Crawley was a highlight—both brought distinct voices to the characters and kept the tension alive throughout. Their performances made the listening experience a good one, even when the plot slowed.
Overall, a solid domestic thriller with atmosphere, suspense, and strong narration. 3.5 stars rounded up.
Thank you to Bookouture Audio and NetGalley for the ARC.
Woah! That was a wild ride. I’ll admit, when it first started, I thought it was going to be predictable and that I knew exactly where the story was headed. Man, was I wrong! Twists I did not see coming! Solid thriller! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!
I listened to this audiobook in one day, so the book was definitely entertaining. The narrator who voiced Miranda was very good, the other narrator was just okay.
The book centers around Miranda, a neighborhood busybody who loves spying on her neighbors from her windows and doorbell camera. She sees something one night that makes her think her new neighbor is up to no good. No one believes her at first and as the book continues and Miranda spirals even I started to doubt her. This aspect of the book was well done.
Overall, this book is fast-paced, entertaining, and twisty. I'm not rating it higher because I didn't connect with any character and the main issue could have been solved with some communication.
Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture Audio for the ALC.
"The Secret at Number 7” by Becca Day is an engaging 4-star read! After a traumatic event in London, Miranda and Lee move to the end of a quiet, peaceful cul-de-sac. Miranda struggles with anxiety and has become a bit of a doorbell camera snoop, keeping an eye on the neighborhood from the safety of her phone. When new neighbors Anna and Frasier arrive, their presence threatens to disturb the calm, which makes Miranda even more invested in watching her doorbell feed. Soon, she witnesses something that may or may not be as innocent as it seems.
The novel is told in three parts. In the first, we see the world through Miranda’s perspective as she navigates the mental struggles left behind by her trauma. She views the world through a lens of suspicion and often makes questionable decisions. The second part shifts to Anna’s perspective, giving insight into why she and Frasier moved to the neighborhood. The final section returns to Miranda’s point of view as the story races toward its conclusion. With plenty of twists and turns, this is a fast-paced thriller that kept me hooked!
Thanks to Bookouture, Becca Day, and NetGalley for providing me with the opportunity to read this ARC and share my honest review.
A jam packed roller coaster with some serious twists, I have to admit to being a doubtful Debbie in the outset, I expected this to be a domestic housewives type saga, but the author provided so very much more. Highly recommend this one! Twists that I absolutely did not see coming.
Great writing, brilliant story, fantastic dual narration.
Huge thanks to Bookouture audio and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this ALC 🎧
Big thanks to Bookouture for a copy on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The Secret At Number 7 is one of those psychological thrillers that get into your head, in the most delightful way. It’s clever, tense, sharp and the twist is smart. Anna and her husband Fraser move into the street where Miranda lives. The two soon become friends and then Anna disappears. Fraser claims she is staying with family but Miranda believes otherwise. She saw bruises on Anna and thinks the worst. Her husband Lee and the police investigating reject her concerns. As Miranda explores further she begins to realise there’s so much more that she first thought….. Secrets, lies and ultimately danger are creeping up to attack….. The story is fast paced, engaging, entertaining, fun and enjoyable. I’m looking forward to Becca next book.
Oh My Gosh! This book was absolutely insane, packed with action and suspense, and had a wild plot! I was so consumed by this book. The plot unravels fast and everything plays out with great detail, just enough to give you background but not enough to spoil each twist before it happens. I wasn’t sure how this story could end but wow - from start to finish this was one if the best thrillers I’ve read in years! I was terrified of each character at some point because I became so suspicious of who could be trusted and who was just flat out crazy!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
So we have a town with a small group of friendly neighbors… and when new neighbors move in at Number 7, well , Miranda is the first to head over with a welcome basket… and all the other neighbors join in… before the new neighbors are even unpacked!!
To Miranda’s surprise, Ann, the new neighbor, invites them all over for dinner THE NEXT DAY!!! 😮
Crazy thing though, her husband Fraser looks very IRRITATED that she’s done this! And, even crazier, Miranda is the only one who can come for dinner….
So, the next day, she, her husband Lee and their young son, Mason, head over for dinner. Once again, Fraser acts very strange towards Miranda, but is terrific with her husband and son. 🤔. What exactly is going on here?
I should also mention that Miranda has a little bit of a psych history after a traumatic break in to her home…
So, when she sees Fraser moving a HUGE suitcase, that appears very heavy, into his trunk, and then returns a short time later without said suitcase…. Miranda is quite upset. AND, she cannot reach Anna!
And that’s when the plot twists…begins…bottom falls out… however you want to convey it! It happens!!!
And, just when you think you’ve got it all figured out…. Think again! Because you are probably way, way off-mark!!
#TheSecretAtNumber7 by @RebeccaDay and narrated beautifully by @DaphneKouma andMelanieCrawley.

This audiobook was gripping and hard to put down right from the start! I maintained my distance, trying to piece together what was really happening across the street. Still, honestly, no one could have guessed the twists in this story!
Miranda develops an immediate liking for their new neighbor, Anna, but feels uneasy around her husband, Fraser. Shortly after meeting her, Anna disappears, and Miranda becomes suspicious. Despite Fraser claiming Anna is visiting family, Miranda remembers the bruises on Anna's arms and believes Fraser may have harmed her. When the police and Lee, her husband, dismiss her concerns, she decides to investigate further. As she uncovers secrets about Anna's disappearance, she realizes the truth is far more dangerous than she anticipated, putting her own safety at risk.
Written in dual perspectives by Miranda and Anna, it offers a thorough exploration of both sides that beautifully come together in the end. This book truly highlights the idea that nothing is quite as it seems. You can’t really judge someone’s life based on mere snippets, as they often lack context. The characters are relatable, wrapped up in deep secrets that slowly unfold as the narrative progresses.
The pacing is quick, and the clever storytelling kept me glued to my earbuds all day. Both narrators were excellent choices with great overall energy, compelling me to finish it in one sitting. The conclusion took me by surprise, with all the twists and turns falling into place beautifully. So pay close attention, as every detail is vital for uncovering the truth behind what really happened to Anna.
If you enjoy suspenseful stories with unexpected endings and some questionable behavior, this book will definitely captivate you. Next time a new neighbor moves in, it’s wise to stay alert because you never know what lies behind closed doors! I hope you enjoy this one!
Thank you, Bookouture Audio, for the digital ARC copy. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The Secret at Number 7 by Becca Day 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 (4.5 rounded up) This is a very fun and twisty domestic thriller story! It’s full of drama, excitement and lots of suspense.
Miranda is excited to meet the new neighbors who are moving in and welcome them to the neighborhood. She quickly hits it off with Anna, but not so much with her husband Fraser. The excitement and mystery quickly begins when Anna goes missing.
Thank you to NetGalley for an audio arc of this entertaining story! The narrators did a great job too! The book is very well written and I enjoy how engaging the story is. It made for a fast read/listen.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author, but I’m excited to read more!
*This book comes out September 18th, and I recommend checking it out!!*
This was my second book by this author and it didn’t disappoint. Miranda has new neighbours Anna and Fraser, she is instantly drawn to Anna and immediately tries to establish a friendship with her, but Fraser immediately makes her feel uneasy with immediately turns to terror when she thinks she witnesses him murdering Anna.
This one has more twists than a corkscrew, I didn’t know who to trust or what to think, and by the half way point everything I thought I knew got turned on its head. I really enjoyed the different POVs, I listened to this one via audiobook and the narration was great. I was unable to predict the multiple twists and turns and I’m looking to digging more of this authors backlist.
Honestly just horrible! Very slow with a lot of unnecessary information. Im not one for erotic stuff in books and this just made me feel uncomfortable reading it especially as a thriller realer! I do not recommend this book.
Wow—this book completely caught me off guard! Not because of the twist itself, but because of how much I enjoyed it. I went in expecting a quick, low-stakes “popcorn thriller,” but what I got instead was a tightly woven, engaging page-turner that avoided the usual tropes in such a refreshing way.
I listened to the audiobook, and it was nearly impossible to put down. Narrated by Daphne Kouma and Melanie Crawley, with Kouma carrying the majority of the story, the performance was strong overall. Personally, I connected much more with Kouma’s delivery—her tone and pacing felt perfectly aligned with the story’s energy. Crawley, on the other hand, didn’t quite land for me. Her voice came across as a bit too mature for the character she portrayed, which occasionally pulled me out of the narrative. There were also moments where a slight lispy quality muddied certain phrases. That said, I found that listening at 1.75x not only smoothed over these issues but also heightened my excitement to keep going.
The story itself delivered several clever twists, each adding another layer of tension and intrigue. Even without an ebook copy to compare, the prose felt sharp and well-constructed—no glaring plot holes, just a clean, satisfying thriller. It’s rare to find one that balances suspense and believability this well, and it’s left me eager to dive into more of this author’s backlist.
I was fortunate to receive a complimentary ALC from Bookouture Audio via NetGalley, which gave me the opportunity to share my voluntary thoughts.
How I Rate Because I mostly read ARCs, I focus on how I think fellow readers with similar tastes will respond. I sometimes round up or down based on pacing, prose, or overall impact, and I try to keep my personal preferences from weighing too heavily.
⭐️ 1 Star – Finished, but not for me; I never DNF ARCs. ⭐️⭐️ 2 Stars – Struggled due to writing, content, or editing issues. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 Stars – Decent read with untapped potential; recommend with some reservations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 Stars – Really enjoyed it and would recommend for several reasons. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars – Exceptional; lingers in my mind well after reading. A story I’d gladly revisit.
Miranda and her husband Lee live on Herring Road and have new neighbors. Miranda has two choices - to be friendly or to be nosy. She decides to take the high road. Accompanied by fellow neighbors Priya, Ellen and Beth, Miranda heads over to welcome them to the neighborhood. They meet both Anna and her husband Fraser, but things do not end there. While Anna seems welcoming, Fraser is the opposite.
While, yes, Miranda wanted to be friendly, nosiness won out. In fact, as she and Lee recently got a video doorbell, she has really loved a feature that she had been taking full advantage of. The doorbell has an alert system that Miranda finds thrilling. Its motion activated alert allows her to spy on her neighbors. She loves it and can’t wait to learn more about Anna and Fraser. In fact, she becomes over-involved when it comes to what she thinks she sees when she spies on them.
This compelling read was brought to life by two narrators, Daphne Kouma and Melanie Crawley. With the narrators giving voice to Miranda and Anna, the story was very easy to follow. The intense story itself was fantastic, but the audiobook raised the bar even higher. No doubt there was a dark secret hidden, and as twist after twist was revealed, this book became an easy one-sitting audiobook experience.
Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.
This was a really fun read! It centers on Miranda, who becomes a little obsessed with her gorgeous new neighbor Anna. While trying to get to know Anna, she develops a deep dislike for Anna’s husband Fraser, and when Anna vanishes, she is convinced that Fraser did something to her.
Miranda appeals to her friends, her husband, and the police, but no one will listen to her; she definitely comes off a little unhinged and I love an unreliable narrator. She takes matters into her own hands, which honestly didn’t make me suspend my disbelief because it seemed in character. Just when I thought it was pretty clear what really happened, the author pulls out a huge twist and then gives the reader good background to justify it. I really liked the way it ended and how it went in a totally different direction than I expected.
Overall, this was a great psychological thriller that took a unique spin on a common storyline. The twist was great and the overall read was fast-paced and engaging. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Audiobook ARC received via NetGalley. Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio!
From the start, I was invested. Miranda and her husband Lee move with their son to a quieter area after a traumatic break-in. But Miranda, still haunted by anxiety and sleep paralysis, can’t help but watch her neighborhood through the doorbell camera.
When glamorous Anna and her grumpy husband Fraser move next door, things quickly get unsettling. Anna seems warm and eager to make friends, while Fraser is the complete opposite: hostile, controlling, and maybe even abusive. Then one night, Miranda sees Fraser hauling a heavy bag into his car in the middle of the night. The next day, Anna vanishes.
From here, it’s a tense, twisty game of suspicion, paranoia and secrets. Detective “busybody” Miranda takes it upon herself to figure out what happened and I found myself just as hooked as she was.
Tbh, I didn’t know exactly what to expect and that made it even more exciting. At times I thought Miranda was a little (a lot) unhinged and there was even a moment where I thought the story might take a completely different turn. But overall, it kept me invested from start to finish.
The narration was great too, both narrators delivered an engaging performance that made it easy to listen in one go.
A solid 4 star read for me, with a few twists I didn’t see coming… and the ending left me wondering ... 👀 could there be a second book?
While very predictable for a seasoned thriller reader, I still had a lot of fun listening to this. There were plenty of the typical tropes of the “for fans of Gone Girl” novel but I don’t always mind them if they are done well. This was for sure a “page-turner” and I was fully invested in the story and figuring out more of the motivations of the characters so I would definitely recommend to others.
Thank you Net Galley and Bookouture Audio for the ARC of this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.
If you like to have a lot of drama in your thrillers then this might be the perfect book for you! Fast-paced and full of twists, Becca Day has pulled together a wild story about a woman who believes she's witnessed the aftermath of her new neighbor's murder by the hands of said neighbor's husband — but is that what she really saw? Or is it just her paranoia kicking in and causing her to see clues that aren't actually there?
I found it really easy to fly through this book thanks to the short chapters (I was able to pick it up and get through 2 or 3 chapters whenever I had a spare 15 minutes)! And even though it was a quick read, I think the pacing was pretty on point here. This isn't meant to be an deep-dive crime novel so there wasn't a need to really linger on any of the details — just show us the action!
And although I was able to predict a few of the twists here, I definitely did not predict all of them. So I'll give kudos to the author for taking what I thought was going to be a common trope and putting a new, unexpected spin on it. I also really liked how the whole thing was structured and thought it flowed together really well. The reveals were well-timed and laid out very clearly, so there was no confusion at all.
Now the only reason I'm rating this at 3 stars is simply because there were just a few too many twists for my personal tastes. (But I'll admit I usually prefer my thrillers to be a little more grounded, so take my opinion here with a grain of salt.)
That said, I was still interested enough in the story to want to keep reading and find out all the answers, so that definitely counts for something! If you're one of those readers that usually gravitates towards these quick thrillers, then I'm sure you'll love this one.
(Thank you to Bookouture for providing a free advance review copy via NetGalley! I am leaving this review voluntarily and all opinions are my own.)
Synopsis: The new neighbors have just moved in—and they’re gorgeous, mysterious, and unsettling in a way that feels just off.
Told through multiple points of view, the story keeps you guessing: Who’s really losing it here? The nosy neighbor? The seemingly abusive husband? A too-close-for-comfort friend? Or someone else entirely?
This is a twisty, scandalous ride that’s hard to put down—perfect for readers who love thrillers you can devour in a couple of sittings.
Narration: Both narrators were engaging and kept the pace moving, though I found Anna’s voice a little older than how I pictured the character. It pulled me out of the story a touch, but not enough to take away from the overall experience.
Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Bookouture Audio for the chance to listen in exchange for my honest review.
I flew through this book at near record speed! A nice mix of nosy, creepy neighbors and trying to figure out who the real villain is. Things started to drag a bit for me towards the end, but it didn't stop the pages rapidly turning.
Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for this eARC for review. All opinions are my own.
Wow - there were moments in this book that made me literally gasp out loud! I did not see those twists coming. The plot was gripping from start to finish, with writing that pulled me right into that immersive, edge-of-your-seat thriller experience. At one point, I even questioned my own sanity.
I flew through it in under 24 hours - the short, snappy chapters make it impossible to put down. If you’re a fan of fast-paced thrillers, this one deserves a spot high on your TBR!
Huge thanks to Bookouture, NetGalley, and Becca Day for my ARC copy. 🥰🖤
Woah woah woah. Didn’t expect that! Figured maybe Miranda was absolutely out of whack but I guess not?? A really fast psychological thriller with twists galore and an unreliable narrator with a major bias. The Crux of the story happened half way and the rest was drawn a bit, but you got a good insight into the characters. I liked the alternating POV.
Thanks for the ARC NetGalley!

Everyone is a little nosy nowadays, right? I mean, with a doorbell camera or security cameras on the outside of every home, you don’t even have to leave the couch to spy on your neighbors. Miranda is your typical type B mom who can be seen in sweats with her hair in a bun most days. Maybe a little awkward and definitely hard on herself. She’s never felt more aware of these things as she does when she meets new neighbors, Anna and Fraser. The mystery and scandal around her new neighbors is too much and Miranda needs to get to the bottom of it- whether her friends and family support her or not!
Overall this was an enjoyable listen with brilliant narrators. The story was paced beautifully and flowed effortlessly! Thank you for this ALC!
