Thank you for sharing this journey with me. My books combine my passions: travel, languages, art, music, and cuisine. I have traveled to some of the exotic locations in my books and enjoy revisiting them in my imagination. When I'm not working on a new book, you might find me teaching a yoga class, cooking up a delicious vegetarian meal...or indulging in gourmet chocolate. I would love to hear from you! Valerie and Dale are six months into their new business, Powder Couple Cakes. The have recently returned from their honeymoon, where the weather was awful the entire time. The first day back to work starts with a bang. Lucy is surly as ever and a man shows up claiming to be a health inspector. The inspection doesn't go well, which gives Valerie the gumption to fire Lucy who is nothing but trouble. Valerie has been wanting to fire her for a while but just hadn't been able to, until now.
The next day upon arrival to work Valerie and Dale discover the dead body of the pastry chef Heath on the floor in the kitchen. After a few other odd occurrences they begin to think that someone is out to get them.
This author is very good at making a mystery short not seem that way. The story is well developed and it doesn't seem like it is rushed or pushed along. I enjoy reading them.
