About the author

New York Times bestselling author Christine Rimmer has written more than one hundred contemporary romances for Harlequin Books. Mi humilde opinión:

Romance con embarazo sorpresa, de amigos a amantes, pueblo pequeño.

Me pareció que a Riley le tomo demasiado decirle a Josh sobre el embarazo, me dolió la cabeza de tantas vueltas que le dio al asunto. Pero por otra parte entendí porque no se animaba a darle la noticia o como por la historia de él con la ex esposa y porque tampoco un bebé no era parte de su romance. Me encantó la reacción de Josh creí que se lo iba a tomar un poco mal por no decírselo antes o que iba a dudar, a reaccionar exageradamente pero no lo hace, fue comprensivo y dulce con ella, se notaba que estaba camino a enamorarse de Riley. Por eso cuando le propone casarse con ella y lo rechaza me quedé sorprendida. Se notaba que los dos eran perfectos juntos, sus hijos eran mejores amigo, no podía creer que Riley no lo intentara. Primero rechaza su proposición de casamiento, después termina su aventura con él diciendo que solo serán padres, más tarde lo extraña y piensa que las cosas no son como antes (obviamente por tu culpa, Riley), cuando él quiere mantener distancias por el bien de su corazón ella le dice que se quede, me molestaban mucho sus dudas y contradicciones. Me daba pena Josh porque tenia sentimientos por ella y lo confundía.

Riley me sacó de quicio desde el principio, me cansaban las partes en las que Annette y Macy le daban buenos consejos y le querían hacer ver que en realidad ya estaba enamorada de Josh pero Riley no quería aceptarlo. Ella solo se enojaba con ellas negándolo y no quería hablar mas del tema, era demasiado cabeza dura. Al final Annette fue mas valiente que ella al aceptar salir con Miles!

Me pareció que Riley y Josh tenían química, al comienzo me gustaba su amistad y lo bien que se entendían. Pero de nuevo la testarudez de Riley me hizo querer que encontrara a una mujer que lo ame lo suficiente como para arriesgarse con él. La escenas de pasión estaban bien pero todo el despliegue que hacían para desvestirse me aburría, además eran repetitivas. Y las cosas que les inventaban a los hijos cuando ella se quedaba a dormir eran ridículas.

Creí que Leonore seria la villana que causaría problemas entre Josh y Riley… para mi sorpresa entendió que ya no volverían juntos y buscó ayuda. Su personaje dio un giro para mejor y me termino gustando mas que Riley.

A lo largo del libro mi pregunta seguía siendo… por qué Riley les causaba sufrimiento a ella y más a Josh con sus actitudes? Si no quería estar con él, traza una línea muy gruesa y ahí se terminó, pero ella a pesar de que dijo que su aventura terminó siguió cediendo y acostándose con él! Lo peor es que él estaba enamorado de ella y quería casarse, y sus negativas por sus miedos absurdos lo lastimaban cada vez peor. Y encima se quejaba y lloraba por ello? No la soportaba!

Estaba por la pagina 249 cuando pensé en dejar de leer pero me obligué a terminar. Todo el asunto de Riley y su negativa a querer casarse como conflicto principal de la historia me resulto cansino. Obviamente todo tiene un final feliz pero el personaje de Riley no hizo nada amena esta lectura, quizás si hubiera sido mas lógica con sus acciones, honesta consigo misma y menos egoísta con los sentimientos de Josh hubiera sido distinto.

Only Riley has a secret she’s having a hard time revealing to the Josh. She’s afraid that once she does that the affair will be over. Josh is also dealing needy ex-wife who wants to reunite as a family. Riley has had many big losses in her life since the age of ten, her mother and father and husband. Those losses have made her very leery of getting to attached to anyone else and has vowed to never fall in love and get married again.

A Secret Between Friends from author Christine Rimmer continues her Bravo and Bravo Family Ties series with the Next Generation of Bravos to fall in love. She starts the eighth book in the series with two characters you got to know through the previous books and get a book of their own. Josh Bravo and Riley Thompson are having a secret affair. Their relationship is about to become public when she reveals that she’s pregnant. Christine Rimmer writes a story full of emotion, love, and trying to figure out what you can and can’t live without. An accident will play a big part in these two maybe coming together and a change of mind. A Secret Between Friends is the recent release from Christine Rimmer that had this reader crying several times with the emotion of the story and being infested into what the characters are going through. A Secret Between Friends is the recent Medicine Creek story and this reader can’t wait to read about the next Bravo to find the true love that the former generation managed to find and show this one what it looks like to love that special person with everything you have even if there may be heartache in the mix. This reader has been a fan of Christine Rimmer since the first book of hers I read and am now on her review list for eBooks, which is where this version of the story came from. I look forward to the next Bravo to find their true love.

Terrific friends-to-lovers story. Josh and Riley are best friends and have been since second grade. Their five-year-old sons are inseparable. Neither expected a casual kiss to explode into an attraction neither could resist. So, they became secret lovers - friends-with-benefits - for as long as it feels right. Neither is interested in marriage. Josh's ex is still trying to get him back, and he's not interested. Riley lost her husband shortly after their son was born and has no desire to risk her heart again. Both are happy with what they have.

Then Riley discovers she's pregnant. First, she must tell him. She's worried about his reaction. Then she needs to fend off all the well-meaning advice telling her that they should get married. The news surprises Josh, but not nearly as much as the realization that he's thrilled with the idea. As the idea of fatherhood settles in, Josh also realizes that his feelings for Riley are more than just friendship.

I loved watching the changes in Josh and Riley's relationship. Josh is so sweet in the way he watches out for Riley. The scenes after her fall were awesome. He hopes that with patience and understanding, he can overcome Riley's fears. I ached for his pain and frustration as she resisted his efforts. Riley frequently frustrated me. She suspects she's falling in love with him, but is in deep denial. She's afraid that if she admits it, she will open herself up to another devastating loss, so she pushes him away. I loved the ending and seeing Riley overcome her fears.

I loved the two little boys, Shane and Dillon. They were adorable, but also realistic, with the occasional disagreement and five-year-old challenges. Seeing other Bravo family members is always a pleasure. I thought Josh's ex-wife, Lenore, would be a problem, but she surprised me.

Once upon a time, about six months ago, Josh and Riley shared a kiss which changed their entire relationship and their worlds. Josh is a single father that shares custody with his clinging ex-wife and knows that marrying again is not in his cards. Riley is a widowed mother that suffered the worst possible experience of holding her husband as he passed in her arms and has vowed to never marry or love that hard again. They have been friends forever and one night a shared kiss, leads to a shared bed and then a surprise baby. Riley is fully prepared to back away from Josh and raise the baby on her own, she has a great support system with friends and her mother-in-law. I loved their relationship and the growth of these two women that was happening simultaneously as the relationship that was building between Riley and Josh and both learning to trust in each other and in their hearts. Josh is a stand-up guy that would move mountains for those he loves. He loves his son, Riley’s son, and then he realizes that he loves Riley too. What is a guy to do? The characters have some growing pains and at times, you want to cry and/or throw things, but when they get it together, it is the sweetest thing.
I have read many of Ms. Rimmer’s books over the last several years and they just get better. The characters are multi-faceted, and they will grow and change as the story progresses. Every time I finish one, I think that there can’t be a story that will outshine the last one and then she goes and releases a new book. So many favorite personalities from previous stories make an appearance and the town and community comes to life, I think I want to move there. This book will not disappoint; there is no secret about that. As always, I cannot wait for the next story to continue in this sweet little town.

After Josh Bravo finds out that the woman he dated was pregnant, so they married. It didn’t last but he tried to make it work. Josh did get a wonderful son name Shane out of it. He doesn’t want to ever marry again. His best friend Riley Thompson is a young widow with a young son named Dillion. She will never let her heart belong to anyone else again. It hurts too much. She’s happy how her life is now. She went into business with her mother-in-law. They are very close. Josh and Riley crossed the line one night. The chemistry is hot. Now they have a secret affair. When Riley realizes that she’s pregnant, she is afraid to tell Josh. After his marriage began that way, she doesn’t want him to think that she wants marriage. He’s excited when he found out and did offer marriage, after all they are best friends and so are their sons. Josh and Riley tell each other everything and get along great. The chemistry isn’t bad either, but she says no. Now the two need to figure out how all of this will work. What will everyone think? What will their sons say about the baby? What will her mother-in-law think about her being pregnant out of wedlock? She’s very conservative. Can Riley open her heart? Can she let the death of her one true love go and find a second one, especially at this time of her life? Will she walk away from her best friend? She misses him every day. Josh told his family and they are excited about the baby. Can everyone come together for the love of a blessed little miracle? These two deserve a second chance, to find love again and have a family. I was rooting for all of them. What’s not to love? Little boys , a puppy and finding happiness for everyone. I didn’t want to put it down. Christine Rimmer always makes you feel like you’re there in the story and you feel everything they feel. It’s a little emotional too. Worth the read. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily.

I so love a good Harlequin romance and this checked all the boxes for me. Wonderful characters, family and friends who step up when they’re needed, kids and an adorable dog and of course we have to have the ex who thinks she still has a chance when we all know he’s fallen for someone else. Riley and Josh have been friends forever but he’s divorced and she’s a widow and one kiss started their secret arrangement but then she got pregnant and the rules changed. I really like Riley & Josh and I love how he wants to step up for her but she has dug her heels in and doesn’t want to get married again which I totally understand but Josh keeps up his mission of changing her mind. I also liked Riley and her relationship with her deceased husband’s mother-in-law, Annette. We have a few oversteps between them but I was glad that Riley talked to her and gave her the courage to step up with a possible new romance for her. However when RIley told her about the baby and the way she reacted, definitely shocked by that but Annette being who she is apologized right away but still let her know she wishes they would get married. However Riley has an accident and Josh steps up in a big way to help her get back on her feet literally and something does happen between them and they have a disagreement and end up going their separate ways as far as any relationship is concerned. Between Macy and Annette they both spend time with her and she finally realizes she is all in with Josh and wants another chance to be married and happy. I liked how everything came together in the end and what a perfect ending to this story. Great book!

Another great story by a wonderful author Christine Rimmer. Just because divorce sounds harsh doesn’t mean life is over. For Josh Bravo single father to Shane and his long-time best friend since second grade Riley was a Widow after tragically loosing her husband in her arms. Now after spending time with Josh and their sons being inseparable, she realizes she is pregnant with Josh’s baby and needs to tell him.
Josh doesn’t get panicked in the situation of becoming a second time father more like third time cause he treats Riley’s son as his own and loves being around them both; however, he realizes how much Riley means to him and how much he has fallen in love with her and now he needs to make it final by declaring his love to her and letting her know. He realizes his love comes with strong feelings for his best friend that he never understood or was prepared to accept.
Every time I pick up one of this author’s book I can’t wait for the next one because it is a wonderful read and a fast read because it is like reading a movie due to the author bringing her characters too life. Looking forward to the next one in this series.

A Secret Between Friends is the twenty-eighth book in Christine Rimmer’s Bravo Family Ties series. Riley Thompson and Josh Bravo are best friends. She is widowed and he is divorced from a woman that still wants him. They both have five-year-old sons that are inseparable. When a kiss turns into a friend with benefits relationship, they try and hide their situation until a positive pregnancy test changed everything.

Riley is hesitant to tell him but when he finds out, he is thrilled. Josh wants to marry her but with her past haunting her she doesn’t want to take that path. Co-parenting would work for her. Josh is in love with her, but what about Riley? Will they find their forever life together?

A Secret Between Friends is a heartwarming story. I highly recommend it and look forward to the next Bravo book in the series.

Another in the Bravo Family Ties series, in which Riley Thompson realizes that her best friend and divorcee, Josh Bravo, is a wonderful father to his son. But now she also realizes that their friends-with-benefits fling has resulted in a pregnancy she isn't sure he'll be happy about. After all, he married his ex-wife when she became pregnant, not necessarily because he wanted to marry her and that union resulted in a divorce as well as his adorable son.

Josh's son is also best friends with Riley's little boy. They share the same daycare center and love to have sleepovers at their respective homes. But what will happen when Riley's pregnancy becomes noticeable?

She's determined never to remarry, not after having watched her husband take his last breath following the crash that also injured her. Josh will do anything for Riley, but he wants more; specifically, marriage, even though he knows Riley doesn't. How can this conundrum be resolved so that everyone is happy?

Now they've been 'secret lovers' for a while and they both like their lives. They have boys who are the same age and are best friends. When the pregnancy test is positive, Riley knows she needs to tell Josh, but she is set on never getting married again. She had her turn with the love of her life, now she and Josh will co-parent with no problem. Right?

Best laid plans and all that. Josh is happy and wants to do the right thing. Riley isn't buying it. An injury has Josh moving in to help Riley recover, the boys are happy to be together, and all is well...until it isn't.

Fabulous story. It's always fun to have another book featuring the Bravo family and learning about the children we read about years ago!

Another excellent novel by Christine Rimmer.

Riley Thompson and Josh Bravo have been best friends for a very long time, since elementary school. Josh is divorced and Riley is a widow. Riley does not want to get married again. Josh has a son to his ex wife.

Both are content to be lovers until Riley finds out she is pregnant with Josh's child. She knows she must tell him, but his ex pressured him into marriage in this way, and she is not looking for marriage. She would happily co-parent with Josh. When she tells Josh they are expecting, Josh realizes he loves his best friend and has feelings he never acknowledged before.

You should really consider picking up a copy of the book to find out the rest of the story. Christine has a way of bringing her characters to life, making them seem real and relatable. I really enjoyed this book.

A friendly fling that burns white hot and leads to a new life.
Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to be Josh’s significant other??
Riley that’s who! She’s a stubborn mule who is denying what is evident to everyone else that she loves Josh.
I felt bad for Josh because Riley blew hot and cold. The poor guy was doing all he could and got little in return, well emotionally anyway.
In fact a cattle prod needed to be taken to both her and Annette to make them realize live is for the living, not carrying torches for widowed martyrdom.
Even Lenore got the reality check long before Riley.
There’s a HEA and Bravo to the woman who finally saw the light!

Christine Rimmer is one of my favorite authors and she never disappoints! Rimmer creates complex characters that captivate your imagination and your heart.

Now Riley needs to tell Josh that she is pregnant with his child. After losing her parent's and her husband relatively close together, Riley vows to never fall in love or marry again. Josh's ex wants to reconcile but Josh isn't interested. When Riley finally gathers the courage to tell him she is pregnant Josh is overjoyed. He already knows how he feels about Riley but Riley wants to keep it strictly friends who coparent together. Will Riley finally realize she can trust her feelings and trust Josh's feelings to? Read on to find out.

I loved this book, and I love the Bravos! This was Josh and Riley’s story and it was wonderful. I will say there won’t be any spoilers here, so you will definitely need to read the book. Josh and Riley and not only best friends, they’re also secretly lovers. When Riley finds out she’s pregnant, she doesn’t want to get married or admit she’s falling in love. Why, it scares her. Can they both put their past fears of love behind them? This is a wonderful story of finding love again and knowing that with trust, understanding, and a little patience, love always finds a way. Another wonderful read, can’t wait for who’s next.

I received this book as an advanced copy, and my review is an honest representation of the story. I absolutely loved it. I started reading the Bravo series a while ago, and I really enjoy the continuity of the family and how each book stands on its own.

Riley Thompson and Josh Bravo are friends and secret lovers. But now she’s pregnant! She tragically lost her first husband, the love of her life, and he is divorced from a slightly controlling woman. She isn’t looking for wedding bells, but he wants to marry her. He's been in love with her for a long time. Josh is super loving and sweet. I wanted to reach into the story and slap Riley silly for not agreeing to marry him.

I’ll be honest — I’m not usually a fan of books with a lot of kid characters, but Dillon and Shane completely won me over. Their conversations with each other felt so natural and fun, and the way the adults interacted with them was spot-on. Better yet, because these two were so relatable and endearing, I found myself even more invested in Riley and Josh’s story than I might have been otherwise.
You really can’t go wrong with a Bravo story, but this one didn’t just meet expectations — it exceeded them. Loved every page.

A Secret Between Friends is the newest Bravo book by Christine Rimmer. Riley Thompson and Josh Bravo have been having a secret affair with a small, but growing, consequence, which could ruin their agreement. Rile’s husband died in her arms while Josh went through an ugly divorce. She doesn’t want to tell him because she doesn’t want their affair or friendship to end. When she finally breaks the news, it’s a hard conversation to have but it comes out right in the end. I love the way Christine weaves their pasts and presents together with their futures. I couldn’t put it down.

Joshua is divorced, Riley is a widow, they are both best friends. Josh doesn't want to be hurt again, and Riley does not want to give her heart to someone else to have them leave her forever.

So they decide to have a secret fling. But will they both get what they want.

I fell in love with not only Riley & Josh characters but also their sons Dillon & Shane.
Riley & Josh are not only bestfriends but are also friends with benefits. Riley ends up pregnant and is afraid to tell Josh. When Riley finally tells Josh he takes it better than she expected and actually wants more then a friends arrangement but Riley doesn't, can Josh change her mind?

This is a great story about friends with benefits to true love. Josh and Riley Jane's sons are best friends and that puts their lives together more and more. The secret affair has a life of its own and that crates more situations. Sometimes life throws its own challenges and that is the basis of this story and what makes it a great read.

Another great book from this author. She brings her characters alive you feel like you know them and are rooting for them. Friends to lovers Riley and Josh had me hoping everything work out and then she got pregant and I thought that was the end so many things could go wrong and some did and other work out . Waiting for her next book.

A Secret Between Friends is a wonderful sweet heart-warming story that made me cry. Riley is a great down-to-earth character written so realistically that you feel that she is a close friend who keeps you up to date with what is going on in her life. The storyline is written perfectly and the characters are as well. Grab this book and enjoy your trip!

This was the latest story in the Bravo Family Ties Series. I loved this book. I laughed and cried while reading it. There were ups and downs and times it looked like Riley and Josh wouldn't make it but make it they did. There was a HEA and that always makes for a good ending.

Another excellent Bravo family story by Christine Rimmer.. This story is about Riley and Josh. Growing up as friends then finding love is very special despite past history. Christine Rimmer is a great storyteller anything she writes is worth reading.

This was such an emotional roller coaster. I love these characters so much highly recommend recommended.
