“GALLEON” by Mark Moorer is a gripping adventure that keeps you turning the pages. The story of Jack LaPointe finding a lost Spanish ship after a hurricane is exciting and full of tension. From the very first chapter, I felt like I was standing on the shore of St. Augustine, watching history and danger rise out of the ocean. It gave me the same rush I used to feel when I dreamed of treasure hunts as a kid, but this book made it feel real.
What makes the book powerful is not just the treasure—it’s the meaning behind it. Jack is not only fighting to uncover history, but also to protect his father’s legacy. That part touched me personally because it reminded me of the values and dreams we carry from our own families. It shows that sometimes the real treasure is not gold, but love, respect, and the bond we share with those who came before us.
The characters made the story even stronger. Treese as the ruthless enemy brought a real sense of danger, while Breanna added depth and balance. Their relationship grew naturally, and I liked how it showed that even in the middle of chaos, trust and connection can be the biggest discoveries. It felt honest and reminded me how people can be anchors in our own storms.
