Readers of Love Me, Love Magnetic Hearts will be eager to continue James and June’s tumultuous love story.

Perfect for fans of steamy, slow-burn angsty romances featuring brooding leads with troubled pasts.

June White realizes that everything she thought she knew about her new friends was wrong. After moving to California, she discovers the hallways of her high school hide lies and appearances are worse than deceiving. The only person she can really trust is the one person she never thought she the brooding but sexy James Hunter. And as they grow closer, June’s heartbreak over William fades.

For the first time, James talks to June openly and honestly, and without any desire to drive her away. Even as the truth emerges and William continues to battle his demons, June is still torn. Did James try to keep her and William apart to protect her, as he claims? Or are his feelings for her more than he can admit? Eventually, it’s up to June to choose—William or James.

But as James and June draw ever closer, even more secrets about James’s past are revealed, including one that could destroy the fragile happiness they are creating.

Still the same opinion, the writing is disastrous, although the enemies-to-lovers arc is slowly winning me over.

I was short of breath again.
My phone buzzed in my pocket.
“Get out.”
I pulled on my hoodie, and another text from James came through.
“Now. Before I drive my car straight into his club.”

“Stop,” I whispered, lowering my gaze.
“Stop doing what, White?”
I stayed trapped by the smallest of his movements. With him, even something as ordinary as wrapping tape around his hand had a way of pulling me in.
“Stop acting like this with me. It’s not fair.”

“You handled that well.”
“You’ve got one thing wrong, James.”
“What’s that?”
I turned to face him.
“ I did it for both of you.”

“You dance around the point to hide your real intentions and ask uncomfortable questions.”
“Like what?” I shot back, challenging him, catching that familiar glint in his eyes, the one I swore I saw every time I pushed his buttons or we bickered.
“Like whether I have a girlfriend.”

“It was Will who asked me to.”
“What?”
“To stop by before heading home,” he said firmly, holding my gaze.
“Yeah, sure.”
“I wouldn’t have come otherwise.”
Arrogant.
“Anyway…”
I hung on to his slightly rough voice, deep at the same time, warm enough to wrap around me.
“Anyway what, James?”
He brushed a strand of hair back with a quick flick of his wrist before stepping away down the avenue.
“I always keep my phone on me. Even when I’m asleep.”
“And?”
“If anything happens… you can call me.”

“I want to see your face,” he growled.
There was nothing aggressive or commanding in his voice. It sounded muffled.
“What do you mean?”
“I want to see if you’re as beautiful as I imagine.”

“There’s one thing I didn’t understand, James.”
The cool air drifting in through the open door brushed against my arms and hair. “Tell me.”
“Why does everyone love you so much?”

She had sky-blue eyes, just like other girls, but hers were larger. They made me feel vulnerable.

I curled up under the blanket and closed my eyes for a few moments, savoring the pleasant warmth. When I’d fallen asleep the night before, I hadn’t had a blanket over me. Where had it come from? […]
“You actually stole James’s precious fleece blanket. He takes it every single time he sleeps here. Unbelievable that he didn’t even notice!” Will exclaimed.

She tapped my knee for me to pass her the joint.
“No more than two hits,” I warned her, even though I had no right to.

With a cigarette in one hand, he ran the other through his hair. I stayed mesmerized by the gesture, which forced me to meet his eyes. Then he tilted his head.
“I don’t think Will is ready to give you up. He really likes you.”
“Why are you talking to me about him right now?”

Only the fear that someone might make me burst into tears, the fear of breaking down in front of everyone. I took one last breath, then pulled the hood of my jacket over my head and started walking along the sidewalk. Without even noticing him, I passed James sitting by the roadside, smoking with a girl beside him.

Will and I turned to watch them while James smoked, his eyes fixed on the ground.

James ran his fingers through my hair, and my thoughts scattered. […] With my eyes closed, I just breathed in his scent and listened to the steady beat of his heart.

— Come to Connell’s party.
— I’m grounded. My mom banned me from going out.
— Just come anyway, I insisted.
— I said no.
— Not even if I told you… I want to see you?

When we left, I pointed out that your brother was pretty good-looking, and James got furious. He made me promise never to make comments like that in front of you.

A huge mess reigned in my mind, and the chaos soon took shape all around us when James burst into the garden with a group of boys. If they hadn’t been making such a racket, I wouldn’t even have noticed them. Grey shadows, faded tones. James was the only splash of color standing out from the crowd. Maybe it was his messy hair, his perpetually flushed cheeks, or his 6’2” frame.

Because deep down, everyone dreams of feeling special.

Love the plot

Love the plot and the slow burn and tension!!!! This book is so addictive, I finished it in a day. It has a good bit of mistakes and at time the dialogue doesn’t make sense, but would definitely recommend.
