Moving to Fox Ridge was supposed to be my fresh start. Just me, my two-year-old son Mason, and my bakery. I wasn't looking for romance, definitely not with a man whose voice has become my secret companion through sleepless nights.
But then I meet Joseph Bell at the pre-rodeo barn dance. Tall, bearded, green-eyed, and so wonderfully real. "The Cowboy in the Dark," they call him—the mysterious host of Fox Ridge's only late-night radio show.
For three months, he's been my secret companion while I frost cupcakes at 3 AM, his deep voice making my lonely nights less empty. When he speaks, my world stops spinning. It's him. My midnight cowboy in the flesh.
They say it takes time to fall in love, but what if your heart recognizes home the moment you hear his voice in a crowded room?
Cowboy's Single Mom is a short, sweet, and steamy small-town instalove romance with a happy-ever-after. It can be read as a standalone or together with the rest of the books in the Fox Cowboys.
Though this was a short story, it was an easy read with just enough info to make you feel like you can connect with the characters and not rushed through it. Yes, there could have been more added to it to be a more solid story but it’s meant to be short. It was very cute.
My only issue was how fast Phoebe - as a single parent - progressed in this new relationship. This is more because of my own personal experience of watching my two best friends - as single mothers with little ones (one who had her son as a young teenager and the other from a failed marriage) - move quickly in their new relationships and introducing the new boyfriends to their kids almost immediately. Their relationships never lasted more than a week or two. One has been moving in with one guy to the next and insisting that their child call each new guy “dad” as soon as they meet - leading them to be very confused with the dad role. The other has been married FIVE times and their kids have major issues as a result of the instability. So, personally speaking, I was disappointed with Phoebe for sleeping with Joseph 24 hours after they met and introducing her son to him right away. I had to remind myself several times that this was a short story.
“…Meeting you felt like finding something I didn't know I was missing."
“…I look at this woman and her son—this ready-made family that somehow, against all odds, seems to have a Joseph-shaped space in it.”
This quick read filled my heart full with sweetness, romance, and hope. Throw in steam and a late night radio show and what can I say - just a wonderful story. Phoebe, who just opened a new bakery, loves listening to the sexy voice of the night shift local radio show whiles she bakes. She meets the owner of the voice, Mr. Hotness, Joseph , who turns out to be perfect for her and her two-year-old Mason. Cute epilogue.

Cowboy's Single Mom is Book 1 of the Fox Ridge: Cowboys series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, curvy single mom gets her cowboy romance. Phoebe is a sweet and curvy single mom. She moved to town 3 months ago with her 2-year-old son Mason to open her bakery. Joseph is a hunky, reclusive cowboy and ranch foreman who also moonlights as a nighttime radio show host, known as the Voice in the Dark. Phoebe listens to his show every night when she is baking into the early hours. When the two meet at a dance, sparks fly and they are drawn to each other. This was such a sweet story of two souls finding each other. They had such great chemistry and the ending was so happy. I loved it and can't wait for more books in the series.
Phoebe is starting a new life for her and her son in a small town. She has opened a bakery and spends her early mornings working on the days confections. While she works, she listens to the cowboy in the dark and his smooth deep voice soothes her mind and helps her feel less lonely in this new place. When she finally goes out and meets more people of the town, she is introduced to Joseph and realizes that it's his voice she listens to each night. They fall into an easy realtionship that both want and need. It's nice to see Joseph be the steady rock that Phoebe and Mason need in their life.

WHat a great start of new series - Fox Ridge: Cowboys. Phoebe - new to Fox Ridge single mom and baker, owner of Sugar Belle meets quiet, thoughtful and unexpectedly passionate man. And recognises his voice - one she listens everynight to - the voice of The Cowboy in the Dark - local radio station night show's host. He walked in her life and in 2 days turned everything upside down. And he found something he didn't know he was missing - ready-made family. It was so sweet and emotional short read, so well written and really passionate. Enjoyed it so much.

This was a fun and warm story. We're drawn into the life of Phoebe, who opens a bakery in a new town and listens to Joseph's sexy voice on the radio show late at night while she's baking. To her surprise, she meets him in person, and he's indeed hot and sexy as hell. The chemistry and attraction between them are amazing, as is the way things are going between them and her son, Mason. I enjoyed their story and can definitely recommend it.

Summer created a highly emotive story about finding love when you least expect. Joseph and Phoebe both have insecurities, and while they're not explicitly spelled out, it's clear they impact their daily decisions and lives. It was moving how an action he took originally for a singular purpose has morphed into something much bigger than imagined. Their story really drew me in and I was definately able to empathize with the MCs throughout the book. This is one standalone i highly recommend.

Phoebe and Joseph’s story is short, sweet, and to the point. However, there is just enough background information to move the story along. This is an insta-love, cooingly sweet, no-angst novella. I read it in a little over an hour. Great palate cleanser to get you out of a reading slump!
The only thing I wish was described a bit more was Phoebe’s history with her ex-husband. It’s mentioned but left unexplored. Even a quick paragraph explaining what happened would have helped move the story along.
Phoebe and her son are in Fox Ridge for a new start. She owns a bakery and listens to a middle of the night radio show while baking. Joseph and Phoebe are so perfect for each other, and I loved how great he was with Mason. This is a quick, small town romance with likable characters, a sweet storyline, and a happily ever after. Cowboy's Single Mom is book one and a great start to the Fox Ridge: Cowboys series. I look forward to reading the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Phoebe moved to Fox Ridge to start over and raise her son, Mason, in a small town. Her dream of owning a bakery is also coming true but those late nights are rough. Keeping her going on those late nights is the DJ, Cowboy in the Dark.
When she ends up meeting him, Joseph their connection is strong. But she has to think of her son and he is the dark, handsome cowboy who could have any woman.
Will Joseph want to take a chance on a ready-made family?.

Phoebe, Baker and single mum, is new to Fox Ridge. She listens to the late night radio show and fantasises about the host. Joseph is a lonely cowboy who moonlights as a radio host. Most people in Fox Ridge are aware he does the show but he doesn't make a big deal out of it...until he meets Phoebe!! Lovely instalove story. Love Mason!.

This was a great book with an interesting and believable plot. I loved the characters, both good and bad, and the author gave all of them a back story and unique qualities. The story was interesting and I really cared about what happened to the characters. The writing was just the right amount of detail and descriptive. Overall, I loved it and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading stories like this.

As a baker, Phoebe listens to the cowboy on the radio every early morning as she bakes. She imagines what he looks like. Then at the pre-rodeo barn dance, she recognizes the voice as the cowboy who asked her to dance. Their relationship grows quickly and even two year old Mason is immediately drawn to Joseph. This is a story of finding a family and a future that's filled with promise. I highly recommend it.
What a sweet, emotion grabbing tale of the power of a voice and the opening of two hearts. These two characters, Joseph and Phoebe, are so very believable and likable. And the storyline moves so smoothly and relates thoughts, feelings and dialogue so well …. I almost felt like I was watching a play, I was so invested in it. I look forward to reading more in this series.
The author has given us an older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Joseph, Phoebe and her young son, Mason. The emotional story keeps us turning the pages with connection, realizations and steam.

There is something to say about an author and their writing when not only the cover and prologue draws your attention right away, but the characters as well. Joseph and Phoebe are amazing well written characters that has you saying to yourself over and over again oh my goodness.
Such a wonderful story full of emotions, love and happiness to fill your heart. I love the location the people and the wonderfully crafted story Ms. Rose has shared!
