She swam away from her problems, but now her problems can swim too.
Elena could never have predicted that taking a break from her hectic Olympic career would see her kidnapped and held captive in an underwater coral castle. Even less so, when she wakes up inside a giant clam, gifted with the ability to breathe underwater by a himbo merman who can't keep his lips to himself.
Triton has lived a lonely existence for over a thousand years. Abandoned by his family long ago, and his only companion the Bottlenose dolphin who raised him, Triton is overjoyed to discover his fated mate. Only… she wants to find her way back home, and he is desperate to convince her to stay.
Elena is faced with a life-altering decision: figure out how to get home, or stay in Aeolia with the merman who has stolen her heart.
Tempting Triton is a story about rediscovering your passion, finding love where you least expect it, and new beginnings. Join Elena and Triton as they navigate consent, a malfunctioning barrier, and a burning desire that neither of them seems able to control.
Lex Logan is an author living in Queensland, Australia with her husband and two children.
While she's currently working on a sweet and spicy monster romance series of interconnected standalones; she also has a lot of work in progresses in her back pocket. In the future you may see a dark romantic fantasy series and a dark mafia romance series.
When she's not imagining up more stories than she can physically write, she is working in her online indie romance bookstore - Tales & Tomes, or rotting in bed with a book.
This book is a cute read; a solid 3.5 stars. It’s low stakes, insta-love/lust. Elena is running from her problems & ends up thrown in another one. I enjoyed the little perspective change to Morgan in the first few chapters. That was a nice little throw back to Seducing Scylla. Triton is an abandoned merman who has had only his dolphin nanny for the last 1000 years. Elena and Tritons story is less stressful than Morgan’s, probably because they’re under the sea haha; but I think that this is okay. I loved the little hints at the magical island and the cute little grove it made them. Also we love a king with a beast side who’s not afraid to get down with it once a month. I giggled a few times, especially at the anatomy lessons. While not the best books, this story definitely brings a lighter tone to my reading list and breaks up my normal darker fantasy reads.
Thank you to the author for a gifted copy of your book to read and review. All thoughts are my own.
🪽This story was a perfect mix of heart-melting moments, blending sizzling chemistry and laugh-out-loud moments as Elena and Triton’s dynamic unfolds.
📘So intriguing to know how Elena is going to react to Triton 📘Love hearing about the broader story from the 1st book in the series Seducing Scylla 📘The spice in this was on point 📘The way Triton calls her ‘My Elena’ melts my heart 📘It was so amusing when they were learning about each other and their bodies 😛
🍷This is like one giant Uno reverse little mermaid nightmare. Just call me Ariel. 🍷Tell me about your human males, my Elena. Are they as handsome and honourable as I? Are they worthy of a female such as yourself?
I am so happy this amazing book is now out and available to everyone!
I had the best time reading this. Tempting Triton was a great book following on from Seducing Scylla.
I loved seeing the two sides of Triton - one very sweet innocent and vulnerable but also the dominant side 👀🥵 hello daddy
There were so many great moments- ones that made me smile - ones that made me laugh (the anatomy lessons) ones that made me teary eyed and so much more.
Ichó was a great side character and I loved the relationship he had with Triton.
I highly recommend this if youre looking for a spicy merman romance.
This book had me from the get go, it's fast paced enough to keep you hooked into the story but still has enough tension and slow burn to make you want more. Once the spice hits there is a nice hefty dose of it for the remainder of the book.
I love the relationship dynamics and how we see both super dominant possessive & soft and emotional from triton!
I really enjoyed seducing scylla but this one I ADORE.
“As a human, face-to-face with a meant-to-be-mythical creature, it’s really my responsibility to get a full account of his anatomy. For science.”
Tempting Triton was everything I wanted and more! A delicious second instalment in the Mated Myths series, this one featuring Triton and Elena.
The spice spiced (helloooooo Tritons Beast 👀) in every which way, and I was here for every moment of it, pockets and all. I loved the balance between Tritons vulnerability and his dominance- it made for one HOT tailed man 🥵
The whole book was filed with amazing moments, which I don’t want to spoil by sharing ahead of release because there were some real little surprises that made me make gooey eyes at my kindle and also some moments that made me go 👁️🫦👁️ too.
Ichó was a true delight too, I love him 🐬
But there is one little snippet, that made me CACKLE and I need to share that, so~
“This is like one giant Uno reverse Little Mermaid nightmare. Just call me Ariel.”
Thank you Lex, for the ARC copy! It was a pleasure to read for you and I can’t wait for the next book!
Once again, we are swept away (literally and figuratively) to the island of Aeolia, but this time we are under it... well under the water.
Elena is a swimmer with an Olympic medal under her belt, a tragic past she is struggling to accept and suffering a loneliness that tends to engulf her. She's also kidnapped and sent off in a shipping container to who knows where... because she never arrives - her and the other captured women are shipwrecked on an island with... interesting inhabitants.
Triton is a Mer, alone for centuries except for his dolphin companion, waiting for the day his people come back for him... if they can ever get through the magical seal that keeps the island and surrounding waters hidden, that is. But then he scents something in the water, the trail leading to an injured Elena, and suddenly, maybe, just maybe, he's not so alone anymore.
What follows is a beautiful journey of finding oneself, acceptance of change and growth, and learning to breathe underwater.
Lex has a beautiful way of storytelling, and her use of legend and twists in Mer lore pushes the story forward but keeps it fresh and exciting.
If you love:
- fated mates - mythology - swimmer/Mer - forced proximity - found family - kisses of life - sentient island
Then buckle up and make sure you read this one. I read this prior to the official release date.

So I just finished Tempting Triton and honestly, I had a really good time with it! The plot moved at a nice, fast pace that kept me interested the whole way through, never felt like it dragged, which is always a win. Elena was such a strong willed character and I loved reading from her POV. She felt like such a refreshing FMC to follow. And then there’s Triton, a strong and protective but also tender and sweet in a way that made him such a perfect match for her. He was so sweet but so seductive at the same time and he had me jumping for cackling to giggling and kicking my feet in seconds. The romance between them was wholesome but still came with plenty of spice (and yes, the spice delivered 🥵).
Overall, this was such a fun short read and I really enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and how everything came together. If you’re in the mood for a fast paced, fun monster/merman romance with both heart and heat, definitely give this one a go.
"Why can't things be magical without someone trying to explain it or figure it out?"
Lex has done it again...this time with an "overgrown fish". I didn’t think Seducing Scylla could be topped, but this one definitely comes close!
Triton is incredibly sweet, yet absolutely beastly when he needs to be. Elena is strong-willed, stubborn, but vulnerable. Together they create a perfect balance of sweet and salty.
I loved seeing more of the island of Aeolia! Some questions were answered, while others left me eagerly waiting for the next installment. I’m certain we will get answers in future books.
Novellas can sometimes feel too quick or underdeveloped, but Lex has truly mastered the format. While I always want more, this story had just the right amount. It's fast-paced, engaging and has that delectable slow-burn spice so many of us love.
I cannot wait to dive (pun intended) deeper into the Mated Myths series as the books are released.
Lex Logan has done it again, but this time it’s even better. The plot of this story is absolutely incredible with ties to the first novel - excellent character and world building continued. “What is kiss?” SENT me! Not only that, but there were genuine parts where my jaw was on the floor - the beast within is dark and fiery. A sea king’s trident... literally man is build like a thork... you know, that fork that has 3 prongs. Yeah, wait until you read it and you will understand too. Who doesn’t love a merman who is learning about his new human mate and her needs and wants! I had butterflies, nervous twitches and breathless moments throughout reading this. Also I have to mention that Ichó is the real MVP of this story and is the cutest dolphin nanny. I loved this story so much and cannot wait for the next!
Well, well, well, Triton was indeed tempting! He absolutely hit that balance of sweet and caring, paired with straight dominance. (Almost like there are two sides to him or something 😏)
Elena was straight relatable from the first line where she states she wants to quit swimming. It's an incredible sport but also unbelievably draining. Watching her find her peace in the water again alongside Triton was a thing of beauty and something she really deserves after all she has been through.
As expected, this was a banger read from Lex- fantastic pacing, excellent spice and a well put together standalone while hinting at the overarching plot this collection of standalones has going. I cannot wait to keep going with this collection!
Thank you so much to Lex for providing me with an eARC to read
Lex somehow balances the sexy vibe and the mystery and drama of the FMC literally being kidnapped and stranded on a magical island in such a way that this ends up being such a cosy read.
Triton is the perfect blend of sweet and beastly (IYKYK) and I really enjoyed watching him win over Elena - who is a badass in her own right!
The romance was swoony, the angst was both HIGH and LOW (idk how that works just trust me on it), and the spice was 🥵🥵🥵
I'm so excited for what's next in this series!

I LOVEDDDD THIS!! This was so fun!!! Engaging, funny, intriguing, endearing, hot as hell and written so well!! I loved the magic and underwater world. The chemistry and connection. I haven’t read a book so fast in ages.
While I think the length of this book is perfect, I would’ve loved some more exploration of the world. This barrier, their new abilities, his people and all that. I understand that that’d be too much with the existing story but honestly I wouldn’t mind a second book of theirs.
(I read this without reading the first one and can attest it’s perfectly enjoyable/understandable as a standalone)
I devoured this book. It was so good. The story was just full of so many twists and turns that you were locked in for the ride. There were so many aspects of the story that anyone can relate to, from loss or depression or even terror. Just the things Elena goes through in such a short amount of time is mind boggling. But then to fine Triton, love, understanding, a home…..just chefs kiss. I really want a sequel to this novel. I wanted to continue on the journey with these two in finding more of their people, to see what’s next for them. So sad the story ended. I wanted more.
Perfection. No notes. I devoured this story. The characters, the plot, THE SPICE. It was all just SO GOOD.
I like that while each story isn't overly long, we still get good plot and little bits and pieces of world building. Little crumbs that could lead to future books 👀 it intrigues me and keeps me so curious for what's next!
Triton was all the adorable green flags and golden retriever flags, but also 🥵that mouth. WOW. He had me SWEATING.
Another great book from Lex! Read it asap! You will NOT be disappointed!
Elena the Fmc in this book is so full of fire and strength! She makes you feel all her emotions and on such a deep level and that’s what I loved about this book is all the feelings and everything is makes you feel!
Triton the Mmc in this book is so damn swoon worthy and just makes you want you have a tail and damn all the things he can do with the thing between his tail 😉
Lex has outdone herself with this full of absolutely everything book. It was one of my favourites this year and by far x
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice level: 🔥🔥🔥 Format: KU Genre: UF POV: 1st person Dual Page count: 252 What you’ll find: ✅Monster romance - Merman ✅Fated mates ✅He kidnaps her (kinda) ✅Forced proximity ✅Very light Greek mythology ✅Cock pocket and special peen 🍆
It was okay… I was just so confused about how they moved in the water 🤔 it read like they were on the ground, but were clearly in the deep. Also, I’m still unsure if Triton could breathe outside of the water or not. It just kept bugging me and felt very inconsistent.
I DEVOURED this book. If I hadn't been so sleep deprived it would have been finished the night that I started it. Lex did it again with book two and wrote a sweet monster romance that's still emotional and just enough of the possessive vibes to keep a dark romance/fantasy gal interested. Tempting Triton was captivating from start to finish, with complex characters and a bit of a trope swap, having the MMC (Triton) being a virg!n. The bond between these characters was delicious from the beginning and reading about the tension between the two was hoooottt. Lex did not hold back on the spice with this one! If you've read Seducing Scylla you need to pick up Tempting Triton! If you're a fan of monster romance you must pick up Tempting Triton!
This was a fun, quick read! A good about of plot and spice. I liked the mermaid (merman in this case) and the girl’s relationship. Super cute and he was a total sweetheart dream boat to her!
Wasn’t a fan of the interesting spicy bits with his ummm extra parts? or the period blood scene hahaha but that’s probably personal preference. If you’d like a fun monster romance read this is definitely worth your while. Would read more from this author.

I really enjoyed the world of Triton, the way Lex Logan has made you feel that your hair is moving with the waves while reading, shows how talented she is. Triton and Elena have some obstacles to overcome to get their HEA, and they work so well together to overcome all of them. While keeping in mind the importance of consent and supporting the other partners wants and wishes.
I can’t wait to read the next instalment of this series!!
This is honestly a fantastically sweet monster romance. Triton is everything us as readers could want in a monster, he’s protective, obsessive and utterly devoted to his fated mate.
If you’re looking for a spice filled monster read with extra appendages, fated mates, knotting, and Br33ding without pregnancy… this is for you.
I am an Arc reader thank you Lex. I was unsure how this book was going to go after Seducing Scylla and how much I really enjoyed that book But I was very much surprised and enjoyed reading this. Tempting Triton.
I love the relationship dynamics and how we see both super dominant possessive & soft and emotional from triton!
There were so many great moments- ones that made me smile.
Not me thinking it was okay to start reading a Lex Logan book at 9pm. 11pm and my eyes are falling out of my head but do I go to sleep like a normal person…? No! A bloody cocket was thrown into the mix. And not just a cocket, but nubs, clasping nubs 😳 wtf.
Anyway it’s now 1am, I’m finished and I’m going to sleep to dream of merman. 4.5 stars! 🌟

3.5 ⭐️ 2 🌶 ~ I had a lot of fun reading this book! I was looking for a merman romance and this definitely delivered. My only gripe is that I’m not the biggest “insta-love” fan… but that’s no slight on the author, that’s just my personal preference. This is a great read if you’re looking for something low stakes, quirky and spicy :)
