Growing up, Wilder Ashburn was the hero I worshipped. I was the pigtailed pest who never left him alone.
Everything changed the day I gave him a poem. For the first time, he saw me... And then he reached for his guitar.
From that moment on, we were entangled. Bound by music and a shared dream.
Along the way, we made To always stay the same, To never let anything come between us, And above all, to never, ever fall in love. But it turns out our promises were poison, Corrupted long before spoken. And for us, there is no antidote.
Falling in love was as inevitable as stardom, And it would destroy us both.

🎧 ALC Audiobook Review 🎧 Title: First Verse Author: L.M. Halloran Narrators: Austin Stone & Isabelle Ruther Source: Thank you to author LM Halloran and must love audio for this listen!
My thoughts: I went into this rockstar romance expecting some steam and drama, but what I got was a lyrical masterpiece that totally rocked my world and left me wanting an encore! The chemistry between Wilder and Evangeline is electric. Their connection has that passionate and magnetic pull of a great love song with wonderful tension and tenderness.
I LOVED the way LM cleverly wrote and progressed this one using lyrics as chapter titles. Every chapter felt like a verse, crescendo’ing (that’s a word right!?) into this emotional chorus that hits you right in the feels. There are some heavy themes so mind the triggers and take care of yourself! I can’t wait for part two!
🎧This was my first listen to Isabelle and I thought she was fantastic! She delivered such a wonderful Evangeline with all of her guardedness and attitude. And Austin…Gasp! Hands down my favorite performance from him. There was so much broken cocky rockstar and emotion packed into that performance! Truly heartbreakingly beautiful from both and it moved me to tears! I felt the pain and the heart break; gah! So beautifully done!
