The next, I was trapped in the dark with Jackson Thorne.
Brutal. Merciless. Irresistible.
A haunted former Marine with a violent past—he dragged me from the ruins and made me his.
Now, as the dead close in, I’m at the mercy of a man who doesn't ask permission.
He doesn’t want my trust. He doesn’t want my love. He wants my surrender.
But his protection comes with a price.
The price is me. And as the bodies pile up and the city falls, I'm starting to realize... I might want to pay it.
His to Burnis a dark, high-heat post-apocalyptic romance featuring a morally gray protector, forced proximity, and a heroine who refuses to break. Perfect for fans of possessive anti-heroes and survival romance with bite.
Couldn’t ignore that voice that whispered mine every time I looked at her.
Listen, I’m ratting this on feels. Okay. Was it the best zombie book? No. I have no idea how the zombies became what they became and everyone in the world just disappeared. Where is everyone? People might be hiding for now. It’s too soon. But they were alone for a long time. Anyways, I don’t like that they’re separating soon the whole reason I enjoyed this book is because Asia and Jack work for me. They make sense as a couple to me. I want them to stay together.
This book felt both very short and very long. I can’t explain it. Again, vibes/feels. I really hope book two gives me more.
Unoriginal and rambling, this story dragged on with repeated scenes and dialogue. It felt like the script was purposely stretched to set up part 2. Very unfortunate.
she did it again! so happy to see you back writing. I liked Asia and Jack but sometimes the monologue and dialogue could be extremely repetitive but none the less, I enjoyed this.
Couldn’t put it down! This book was so, so, so good! It’s got everything — chaos, danger, and a love story that burns hotter than the end of the world. Asia and Jackson are absolute fire together! Between fighting off zombies and fighting their feelings, I was glued to every page. The tension? Off the charts. The spice? Scorching. The emotions? Real and raw. If you love steamy romance with heart-pounding action, this is a must-read!
This book is very reminiscent of The Walking Dead. Instead on one main survivor starting the story we have two and their journey is just as intense and intriguing. I like that Jack is morally gray. I love that Asia is capable and not a damsel in distress.
The first spice scene seemed a bit out of place but besides that I like how their affection transitioned from “we need to stick together” to “we need each other”.
I like the introduction of the side characters. It broke up the monotony of them just surviving and plucking.
This book was a random pick but I like and will most definitely read the next.
I usually don't start a unfinished series, but when I read the first chapter or two I had to go back and read the rest. I'm just hoping I don't forget to go back a read the next book in this series cause waiting a year anything can happen. So I definitely recommend in you don't mind a cliff hangers and can patiently wait for the next book to come out September of next year if I'm not mistaken. I'll be waiting myself hopefully.
This book had me on the edge of my seat. My heart was racing throughout the book. I’m scary so I usually stay away from books like this but I wanted to push myself to try something different and I’m glad I did! I’ll definitely be reading the next book!
This story starts off with the creeps. Little things that catch Jack's eyes and You know something is not right. Asia is a woman who knows she needs Jack and his skills. This is a love story of trying to survive and get to loved ones. As a fan of the WALKING DEAD, I love it.
Not the usual zombie apocalypse scenario where you have one scene to the next of zombie encounters. You are getting to know the characters and their motivations. You see them begin to build the foundation of what will ultimately drive their survival. It’s definitely not easy to put down before finishing!
I won't lie I hate cliffhangers had i known the book ended in one i would have waited for the 2nd release before reading. But all that aside this is a interesting read book 1 seems to be mostly introductory. Interested enough to see how the plot develops in book two
Sooooo….when started reading the story I became hooked on the fast-paced action. I love how the author switches between characters to build the apocalypse. But then I began to feel the story was familiar and I thought to myself. It has captures that raw, early-days survival feel of Season 1 of The Walking Dead. I miss that vibe. Highly recommend read.
This is the first book in a new series. This is a good story which has danger, suspense, intrigue, challenges, and action, which leads to an unpredictable page turner. This story ends in a cliffhanger.
Jackson and Asia are their own version of a dynamic duo. Circumstances joined them but choice kept them together. This book ends in a cliffhanger and the follow up isn't due for release until September, 2026.
Quick romance ends on a cliffhanger. But this series so far is pretty smooth. I never read a zombie apocalypse romance so this was my first and she didn’t disappoint! Lots of steamy scenes, a good storyline to keep you engaged.
This was a solid zombie book I guess. It has some spice and also some realistic survival situations. Not the best I've read but also not the worst. It's worth a read.
