This is a novella that I came across as the author was selling them in a used bookstore and am glad I gave it a shot!

The author did a good job creating believable characters and I was invested in the story. The force behind it all never really got adequately explained but that is more of a artistic decision (to add a air of mystery) but personally I wanted more of a explanation.

Nice little touches of dialogue and actions of character. Like the main character works at a grocery store in Oklahoma and when the forecast gets up to 2-4 inches of snow he describes his "friends and neighbors" turning into "violent zombies" as they raid the store for supplies. Also when he goes out bowling with friends they each make a funny name that's similar to their real one for the bowling record on the overhead television. Not import but a authentic behavior amongst friends.

Looking forward to more. Especially if the author decides to pursue long fiction.
