What started as a fantasy unraveled into something far more twisted. Reese and Adam’s marriage isn’t broken—it’s just . . . hungry. For something new. Something wild. So when they match with Joe, a younger man with kind eyes and a filthy mouth, the sparks are instant. But what begins as a thrilling escape from routine quickly turns into something tangled, emotional, and dangerous. Reese finds herself drawn to Joe in ways she can’t explain—and watching Adam become someone she barely recognizes. Because love doesn’t play fair. Lust always takes more than it gives. And when the truth comes out, someone won’t survive it. A provocative erotic thriller about seduction, trust, and the danger of letting someone new into your bed—and your marriage.
Wendy Owens is a thriller writer, born in the small college town, Oxford Ohio. After attending Miami University, Wendy went onto a career in the visual arts. After several years of creating and selling her own artwork she gave her first love, writing, a try. It’s become a passion ever since. When she’s not writing, this dog lover can be found spending time with her tech geek husband, their three amazing kids, and three pups. She loves to cook, watch movies, and play games.
Just wow. I devoured this book in under 24 hours and I’m still not over it. It starts off with a marriage that seems solid on the outside, but underneath the surface, Reese is quietly unraveling. She loves her husband, Adam, but something’s missing—and that “something” ends up opening a door neither of them expected.
Reese and Adam decide to explore consensual non-monogamy using a couples’ dating app, which completely shifts the course of their relationship. It’s messy, intimate, honest—and absolutely addictive to read.
And then there’s Joe. I did not expect to fall for his character the way I did. He brings a spark, a softness, and a dynamic that changes everything—for them and for me as a reader. Watching all three navigate the emotional highs and lows of opening up their lives was just… intense in the best way.
And let me just say—this story takes a turn. It caught me totally off guard in the final stretch, and I’m still sitting with that ending. I’m hoping the last scene is a quiet hint that a Book 2 might be coming because I need more.
If you’re into spicy thrillers that push relationship boundaries, and leave you thinking long after the last page—this one is absolutely worth picking up.
Blown away. Wendy knocked it out of the park with this one. You can tell she did her research regarding this topic as she approached it and explained it extremely well.
Reese is looking for more in her marriage but she loves, is in love with her husband Adam. But she’s looking for more which leads them to non-monogamy (poly) app. Reese goes back and forth with her feelings regarding this. Adam is totally supportive during the process. They step into a world of exploring new kinks, and turn ons.
They have some bad dates until Joe. Then they both become rather attached (obsessed) with Joe. They don’t want to loose him or share him for that matter. What lengths will they go to? How serious will it get?
There is a twist I didn’t see coming. What I thought and who I thought wasn’t totally right and I was left saying…. What. The…… & What. Just. Happened.
Reece and Adam bring Joe into their relationship, aiming for something totally new and exciting. But things get way messier than expected—and way more intense. Why it pulls you in: * Not your average love story: That three-way setup feels raw and emotionally real from the jump. * Tension’s real: Joe starts drifting, and you can just feel the shift—like something’s about to go south. * Dark vibes, slow burn: You don’t get any spoilers, just a slow slide from romance into full-on psychological drama. Heads-up: * This isn’t a lighthearted poly romance—it’s raw, edgy, and emotionally loaded. * Think jealousy, power plays, and relationships that really push the limits. * If you’re into stories that keep your heart pounding and your mind racing, this one nails it.
I rode the roller coaster with this book. I started out liking it and the couple (Reese & Adam). However, I quickly started getting annoyed with Reese, the wife. I found her to be a really unreliable narrator, and maybe that was intentional, but I didn't come away feeling like it was. It made little sense to me how she mentions so many times how just a look or a touch from Adam affected her, yet they dive into this lifestyle to "save their marriage". That doesn't sound like a marriage that's on the brink of disaster to me. She also seemed to wax and wane on her insecurities and anger, basically being a bitch at times for no reason. The spice in the book is definitely spicing though! lol Some pretty hot, open-door scenes. And I was NOT prepared for that twist. Honestly, the first half of the book I kept thinking "I thought this was a thriller, not erotica!" haha First half of the book I'd give a 1.5 due to my personal dislike for Reese, and also for some inconsistencies in the story, details that didn't match up, and I know were not intentional. Such as: a scene where Adam runs his hand under Reese's lace thong, but on the next page, he raises her dress, and he calls her a naughty girl for not wearing panties. Uhm....I thought your hand was just under her panties. There are a few things like this that happen, and to me, it shows poor editing. The second half of the book was VERY good! I did not see the twist or that ending coming. It was wild!! I'm glad I stuck with the book b/c it was worth it.
Reese loves her husband, and it's coming up to your wedding anniversary. Does she do something outside of their comfort zone? Does she take a page out of her best friend's life and invite someone to 'play' with them both for the night? Would her husband be willing?
Adam is intrigued but wants to discuss this in more detail before they take the plunge. Instead of a woman, Adam is willing to bring a man into the relationship. But can the profiles on an App be trusted, and a lot of them can't. That's until they meet Joe, who seems to tick every box. Can they let him into their loving relationship?
Both Adam and Reese are surprised at how easily Joe fits in with them. It has brought out a side of them they didn't know they had, and it's made their love life even more fun and spontaneous. Reese is warned by her best friend not to get attached; she needs to remember that this is not a permanent thing. But what happens when a distance seems to happen in their 'relationship'? Did they see it coming? What are they willing to do to maintain it? Once they go down that rabbit hole, there is no way to come back from it! Has it gone from fun to toxic, and who will walk away from it when it all falls apart?
A great book, a page turner, very enjoyable.

To start off, it was really refreshing to read about a couple seeking a male 3rd. It's not as common and it really got me blushing!
Couple Seeking Boyfriend is full of excitement and has an intensity that can only be described as sexual suspense.
Reese and Adam decide to spice up their love life with a 3rd partner. Little do they know Joe would be a bigger part of their lives than just a sexual partner. Joe seamlessly becomes an extension of their marriage.
It becomes clear that Adam and Reese become dependent on Joe and his presence. Feelings have developed, and the fears of not having Joe exclusively lays heavily on the couple. Would they be able to fill that void with another? Would Joe be willing to make this a permanent arrangement? Well, you must read this to find out!
If you love domestic thrillers with a spicy edge, add this one to your TBR immediately 😏🔥
I love that Wendy Owens writes in quick, fast-paced chapters that get right to the point without dragging, making it so easy to keep reading “just one more chapter” until suddenly, it’s 2 AM and you’re still glued to the page 😅
This book kept me hooked from the first page, and just when I thought I had everything figured out—BAM, a twist right in the middle that caught me completely off guard. I love when a book can still surprise me like that!
And that ending?? Let’s just say it has me convinced there will be a Book Two 👀🩷 (please, Wendy, we need it!!)
If you’re looking for a domestic thriller with tension, spice, and jaw-dropping twists, Couple Seeking Boyfriend will deliver. Don’t sleep on this indie gem!
I don’t usually read thrillers, but I love Wendy Owens’ writing style, so I had to check out her latest—and wow, I’m so glad I did. Couple Seeking Boyfriend was my first dive into a spicy thriller, and it definitely won’t be my last!
From the very first page, this book pulled me in with its tension, heat, and mystery. The spice was intense, but every bit of it served the plot and character development perfectly. The writing was sharp and addictive—I absolutely devoured this book and would’ve read it all in one sitting if life hadn’t gotten in the way.
And the twist? I did not see it coming. It completely blew my mind and now I’m desperate for book two. If you’re looking for something bold, twisty, and seriously unputdownable, you need this book in your life.
This was such an amazing thriller! I don’t normally like thrillers and I couldn’t put this one down! There is great banter, suspense, emotional connections! The spice in this book is top tier and 🔥🥵. Reese and Adam decided to open up their marriage and add another man. This comes with so trials and errors along the way. They meet Joe and things change. There is so many emotions and connections that are brought to life. You are hooked in the story and the plot twist hits and you remember you are reading a thriller. The plot will shock you have your jaws hitting the floor! I can’t say enough good things about this book. I definitely recommend this book to everyone!
This book was something else. Their married and she is not as happy as she makes it seem. They look for someone to boost their relationship. They find a perfect match that heighten their sexual relationship. They got obsessed with him and started moving to keep him, when he wasn't not going anywhere. This obsession lead them to the ending of their trio couple. I didnt like the ending and I ended up not liking them at all. They were both selfish and it cost someone else.

A loving pair of psychos. Good intentions go very dark and very wrong for Reese and Adam looking to spice up their love lives. It's absolutely astounding the lies this couple tells themselves and each other to be able to live with themselves and their deeds. Are lessons learned from previous misguided intentions? Read and see how they change. I was gobsmacked! A raw, intense, gripping read. I voluntarily read a free copy of this book provided by book sirens and am giving an honest review.
Thanks to BookSirens, publishers and author for an ARC of Couple Seeking Boyfriend.
Phew this book was extra spicy! I wasn't expecting so much in it. The thriller aspect of the storyline only start about two thirds in, it really could have started earlier. Main character Reese was slightly annoying, it felt like her friendship with Madison (her best friend) was extremely superficial one one dimensional.

Now with the good stuff! This book waa wow! I normally am not a "spicy" book ready but this was an all out thriller mixed with spice and then wow! The characters were very well written and I never had to guess what was going on. A true page turner. I've never read a book by Wendy Owen's before but I'm definitely a fan.
A couple is trying to spice things up after a fifteen year marriage so they invite another person into their relationship 😜 things heat up then go sideways!!
Very quick, spicy, thriller read!
I enjoyed it and didn’t predict the twist at the end!
Oh my goodness! What started as a spicy plot line suddenly takes a wild turn with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing how we ended up here. This book was incredibly difficult to put down, especially when it reached the thrilling portion of the story. The writing is very well done, and the amount of spice in the story is just right. I’ll definitely be reading more from Wendy!

This book is a wonderful mix of SPICY 🌶️ and thriller!!! Two of my favorites! The book will keep you intrigued from the start. I devoured this book. I could have easily read it in 1 setting if I didn’t have to live life at the same time 😂. This was my first book from this author but definitely won’t be my last! Can’t wait for the follow up book.
This book was amazing, I could not stop reading it, and the twist never saw it coming. This pulls you in from the first chapter. This book has a little of everything, banter, and suspense. for sure a must read if you love Erotic Thrillers.
I was able to read an ARC of this book. This book had me gripping the edge of my seat. I did not expect the twists throughout this book. If you want a book that you cannot put down this is the book for you!
A spicy thriller about seduction, trust, and the danger of letting someone new into your bed—and your marriage. This book has a little bit of everything. If you love fast-paced dark romantic thrillers, then be sure to pick this one up.
I absolutely loved this book. The love between this couple is every couples dream. The twist i did not see coming and it was exciting. I can not wait for the next book couple seeking girlfriend. Thanks Wendy for writing such amazing books.
WOW! That was some book! Very sexual to say the least. But the ending - it was chilling. If you can get through all the very vivid sexual encounters you'll experience a wild and crazy ride - in a good way.
The ending was very predictable. The book went from 0 to 100 so fast. There was really no lead up so it was really confusing which made it very easy to see where was going. Loved the book but I wish there was more in between as it didn’t really seem like a thriller until 75% into the book.
This story was amazing! We see married couple Reese and Adam choose to open their 15 year marriage. They welcome Joe with open arms. This is a spicy thriller with an insane twist at the ending.
WOW!!!! I didn't expect that. I didn't know who side to be on. Adam, Reese, and Joe are all kinds of messed up. With that being said, I still loved this book. Couple Seeking Boyfriend is a fast-paced dark romance thriller. That will leave you on the edge of your seat, trying to guess what will happen next. But couldn't imagine what actually happened. And the ending was very unexpected, leaving me talking to myself asking "Really Adam?". Triggers • Emotional and psychological manipulation • Captivity and physical restraint • Non-consensual drugging • Violence • Death and dismemberment • Discussions of past childhood trauma and abandonment • Toxic and obsessive relationship dynamics • Gaslighting and betrayal • Mild mentions of infertility (and probably more)
