Go to Italy! A convertible sports car is waiting for you. Travel, take pics, and write an article for us on the nation!

OMG! Finally, a break in my writing career, and it’ll be my first time out of the US.

As I travel, my breath is taken from me. Rome, Milan and Tuscany are incredible, and so are the Italian men. There is only one problem, no one wants my V card.

That all changes when I crash into a hot grumpy Italian on a Tuscan coast. The arrogant SOB is way too good looking, aristocratic and well… way too hot!

Finally, I do it and I corner Dante as he does up his stunning family castle. “Take my V card!”

We reach an agreement, and the brute takes my V card brutally hard. He leaves me speechless, panting, and beyond sated.

My wicked private Teacher then tells me I need more classes. More classes in his castle, and even his dungeon.

I quickly become my teacher’s pet, and I do everything Dante wants. I work all hours, and I stay late… Very late. I, a shy, curvy, nerd then become fully his, and his to do what he wants.

Perhaps I’m just too old for this kind of unrealistic smut. The protagonist is in her early 20s, and at one point—while riding a horse—she thinks to herself: “I hold on for my life, and I decide here and now, nothing in the universe will stop me! I will have sex, even if it kills me.” That line sums up the tone of the book: overly dramatic and far too focused on sex, without much buildup or emotional depth.

The story lacked substance and felt completely implausible. The romance was not believable; there was little to no development between the characters, and their falling in love seemed to happen simply because the author decided it should—not because of anything that actually occurred in the plot. The steamy scenes felt forced rather than natural or exciting.

The male lead lives in a castle in Italy, yet his wealth is barely mentioned or explored. There’s very little world-building, and character development is minimal—aside from the fact that the female lead writes more than one book. The premise: an American girl travels to Italy to write a novel and lose her virginity. She crashes her car into a man named Dante, and he obliges. Then, suddenly, he’s her “teacher.” It’s all a bit much—and not in a good way.

Overall, the book felt basic and far-fetched. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me on any level—romantic, narrative, or emotional.

There was so much about this book that had me ready to dive in headfirst, from the dreamy Tuscan setting (neck-and-neck with Provence in my personal travel fantasy league), the decadent allure of a castle-owning, ultra-rich, devastatingly handsome stranger, and the scandalous promise of a virgin’s sensual awakening. On paper, it sounded like catnip. In practice… well, let’s just say Tuscany deserved better. Raven certainly waxed poetic about the rolling hills and sun-drenched vineyards, but then we got that plot twist about Dante turning his historic family castle into a theme park, complete with gladiator training. Gladiator. Training. In Tuscany. My soul physically recoiled. As for Dante’s “lessons,” they were certainly spicy enough to keep the pages turning, but shockingly tame given the setup. The most risqué encounters were merely hinted at, rather than luxuriated in. Which might have been fine if sexual exploration hadn’t been a central hook of the story. Maybe the author was intentionally keeping things toned down for a wider audience, but for me, it felt like the promise went unfulfilled. What about that dungeon? And speaking of unfulfilled, the way Dante kept referring to Raven as “the virgin” (and later “ex-virgin”) grated on me. I get the whole cold, unfeeling alphahole trope, but this felt oddly dehumanizing, although he did eventually get over himself as his feelings inconveniently blossomed. Raven herself was far easier to root for: a glass-half-full kind of girl, curious, intelligent, and open-minded, especially in the bedroom department (read, a bit kinky). I still don’t entirely get why she was so determined to ditch her V-card at twenty-three like it was a ticking time bomb, but hey, each to their own. Although she enjoyed being bossed around by Dante, I loved that she sometimes took control, which was something that definitely surprised Dante. Some subplots felt like abandoned luggage. The mafia scene? Dropped in out of nowhere and never picked up again. I was fully expecting a couple of shady guys to appear on Dante’s doorstep later, but nope — nada. Similarly, the article Raven was assigned at the start was clearly Chekhov’s gun, and sure enough, it fired in the third act, causing the predictable breakup. But I did enjoy how it finally lit a fire under Dante to get his act together. Nonna and Bianca — Dante’s grandmother and sister — were delightful scene-stealers, while sweet Tito, the dog, arguably spent more quality time with Raven than most of the humans did (apart from Dante, of course). Bottom line: a perfectly serviceable romance with a gorgeous backdrop and moments of charm, but for me, it lacked the spark to make it truly memorable.

Always trust your gut. This is the story of an unlikely pair that end up falling for each other fast and hard. Nonna and Tito were definitely my favorite characters in the book. Dante didn’t think he was ever going to find love and he found it in a nerdy and curvy beauty. The story was very easy to follow and the author did a great job of painting the scenery throughout the story. I would say this is a great story for someone who is trying to get into more intense smut. It isn’t cookie cutter but it also isn’t dark. It introduces more intense concepts without being overly detailed. There were some sections where the explicit nature seemed a bit forced but majority of it was very well executed.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review. Thank you for this opportunity Dani! 💜💜

This was my first time reading a book by Dani, and I really enjoyed it!

At the start, I just wanted to tell Dante to stop acting like a spoiled rich boy, but he definitely grew on me. Raven, though? She was such a standout FMC. I loved her unique personality and the way she constantly put Dante in his place.

The banter, the humour, and the sexual tension between them were all done so well, and the spice? Chef’s kiss 🥵

I especially loved Dante’s character growth, and Tito was a fun little addition to the story. I do wish we got more one-on-one scenes between Nonna and Bianca with Raven as it would’ve been nice to see their bond develop more deeply on-page.

Overall, a solid read that I definitely recommend!

I’ve added the first book to my tbr and looking forward to Nico’s story 😊

Raven is an aspiring author who also works for a company that writes about different countries and places. They send her to Italy to write, where she falls in love with the place and country. While driving she forgets and drives on the wrong side of the road causing an accident. Dante the other driver first is angry and doses not care of Raven. The dislike is mutual
No matter what he thinks Dante finds Raven’s innocence and beauty has made her see her differently.
Raven knows that this grumpy Italian could teach her things that no man has ever shown or taught her.
Dante becomes her teacher in the bedroom and boy oh boy does that bedroom heat up.

Drama, steam, romance and humour

Loved the characters .

What can I say? What an emotional roller coaster. I loved everything about this book.
Raven is an aspiring author trying to finish her first book. She works for a company that write about different places to visit. At the last minute she’s sent to Italy to write a piece about it not worth traveling to. As she roams from place to place she falls in love with the country. As she’s traveling she accidentally drives on the wrong side of the road and causes an accident. The other driver, Dante, feels he must help her. Their mutual dislike for each other leads to drama, laughter, and yes, even tears.

Can’t wait for the next book! Hope it comes out soon.

OMG this was a great story. It was a steamy page turner and the suspense was so intense. The book cover caught my attention as so as I started reading the first page you will not wanted to put it down at all. I was on the verge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. Raven and Dante their love was forbidden as the chemistry was sexy tension and the physical attraction was captivating spicy of hotness of romance and mystery of a hint of danger and they couldn't even fight the temptation in this moment as he was intrigued with her beauty and she was fire crackers. And he was the bad boy of pleasure and mystery.
I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

I loved this second book of the series!! I mean, who doesn’t want to travel to Italy, meet a wildly attractive stranger, and have wickedly hot, smutty s*x with him lol?!?! I loved seeing Raven overcome her insecurities and really mature into a strong, confidant woman. And Dante really discovered a lot about himself throughout the book and his relationship with her. I’m really enjoying this author’s writing and can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!
