I can always rely on Christina Sterling to give me the best balance of sweet and steamy why choose romance. This hockey, why choose scratches that itch for sure. It had all the fun, swoon, and make you melt heat. With incredible characters that fit together like puzzle pieces. I loved Lauren, Alexei, and Ryan together. They were just so cute and HOT!!
This emotional MMF romance had me devouring the pages all the way to the beautiful HEA. This fantastic series can be read as a standalone, but I recommend all the books.

Face Off left me a little conflicted. I love MMF romances. I also love (but don't read nearly as much) romances where an existing couple opens their relationship to a 3rd person. The trust and bond that forms is fantastic. Those two elements is what initially drew me to this book. Plus, it is a hockey romance with bi-awakening, both of which are quickly becoming new favorites. These 4 elements made me a very happy reader when I initially came across the title.
Before I go further, let me say that I enjoyed Face Off and I actually couldn't put it down. I found myself sneaking in a chapter or four while I was crocheting. That is a sign of a book I cannot tear myself away from.
With that said, I had issues with the lack of intimate moments. When I say intimate moments, I mean moments after the characters are physical. There's a scene between Ryan and Alexi where they have intercourse for the first time and then that's it. Whaaa? I wanted their reactions to what had happened. How did it affect them? How did Lauren feel? Then when Ryan and Lauren first try to hook up, it went from dinner to bedroom and then breakfast the next morning. I had to go back and find out where Alexi went. I wanted more time in those moments. I would have gladly read more pages for those moments.
And because those moments were gone, I didn't really connect with Ryan, Alexi, and Lauren until the end of the book. I wanted those moments of intimacy and without them, it felt as if I couldn't get as close to them as I could have. The Titan family, however, was amazing. I loved how they helped each other. They were so welcoming to Ryan and helped the three of them navigate the trials of becoming a trouple.
Overall, I enjoyed Face Off. It was just missing a few things for me. I devoured it, but in the end, I wanted more.

This book was an interesting read for me. As someone who's been married for a number of years I have to say that some of Lauren's problems are relatable and hit close to home but the difference between us is that me and my significant other worked and continue to work on our problems; Lauren just bottles everything up and prays that her husband will realize it and change. Her husband does realize some of it(the reason why their relationship with Ryan kicked off to begin with) and tries to fix it but they never sit down and come to any conclusions about it together. In fact, a lot of the book is just miscommunications between the three of them(Lauren not sure what Alexei is down for, Alexei’s not sure as to what Ryan wants and Ryan is always fretting about what the other two really think/feel).
Don't get me wrong. I really like Ryan and I definitely came here because I prefer actual throuples to why choose or reverse harem but this isn't it. Using your third as the glue to keep you together when you don't communicate brings a lot of problems and you can already see them in their honeymoon period during this short series. Like the fact that Lauren relies more on Ryan and places more importance on his wants and well being.

By the end of the book Lauren and Alexei still haven't aired out all of their problems that they have with each other, For instance, Alexei isn't shown to be a better conversationalist or communicator and Lauren also isn't shown to communicate better with Alexei. (He does show that he wants her more and is more passionate so I guess there’s that…)All this to say, if you expand your family while not fixing your underlying problems they just get bigger or end up on the shoulders of the more emotionally intelligent partner. This left me kind've sad because I was hoping that Ryan would help them work through some of these issues, but instead they describe him as “filling in the gaps” which makes me nervous for them.
Side note, I feel like I also just have a problem with a bunch of the women in MMF stories in general. At first Lauren feels relatable but by the end she just feels so selfish, especially after Ryan enters the picture. There's nothing wrong with allowing Alexei to take care of her and be protective but it never feels like she reciprocates, it feels like she just tries to take more and more from him for her and Ryan. Even when he comes out to her, she makes it about Ryan. She also stops taking care of his needs as well (example: ). It just rubs me the wrong way.
Otherwise it was cute enough. While I hate the way Ryan glorifies them(to each their own but I hate when people call their partners perfect), both Lauren’s and Alexei’s relationships with him are cute. I like that both men go out of their way to take care of her. I think she is super sweet to Ryan. I also like that regardless of Ryan being a man Alexei wants to take care of him. The climactic conflict is interesting and the resolution makes sense. The ending takes a bit of suspension of disbelief because the outer world is not that pretty(especially in North Carolina) but once you get over that, if you like them as a throuple the ending is super sweet.

This is Book 3 of the Titans Hockey series. They are interconnected standalones. I have read the first 2 books in the series, but it is not necessary to understand this book.
While I enjoyed the book overall, it isn't my favorite in the series. I struggled with it for a couple reasons - Alexei & Lauren are married and not super happy in their marriage...and instead of just working on their relationship - they feel that they need to bring in Ryan... and while, yes, this is a book..and yes, it did help them (again, this is fiction)... I don't like the impression that can give people, because this isn't necessarily real life and to me marriage is a serious deal. There is a fine line when reading fiction... and if it gives people the wrong idea, it's a struggle... .no, people shouldn't be so impressionable, but I also understand how things are when you're not in the best place in your marriage & can be vulerable...
That said - I did enjoy the book, just wanted to mention the caveats above because I think it's important to think about these things.
I liked the characters. I liked how they enveloped Ryan into their family. I did not care for the fact that it made the male characters bi... in the previous books in the series, it was more about all the males were attracted to the woman... this one turns it where the males are attracted to each other also, which I also didn't love.

This is my first book by this author but I love books about marriages in turmoil. I love a book where there is married couple in a committed loving relationship but there is trouble. In this case we have Alexei and his wife Lauren and their son. Alexei is the new captain of the hockey team and they are the golden couple of the league. Except at home things aren’t as good as they used to be to be. This couple has been together for over ten years but, they both feel as if something is missing. So when a new player joins the team a rookie named Ryan, they both become intrigued. Ryan is lonely, missing his family and companionship and when they invite him over both feel some kind of spark. A good friendship develops that eventually spirals into a sexual relationship between the three adults. Now this is the third book in the Titans Hockey series and I do intend to read the previous two books because I enjoyed this book so much. I love a relationship where there is mutual respect and love among all participants and this book was just so emotional and complex with some twists and turns thrown in. Great book.

To start with, I feel like I missed out on a bit too much backstory by not reading the first two books, but I wasn't totally lost. Given that the previous two seem to be more of a reverse harem type situation and this is a true triad, they don't appeal to me, but for those who would rather dive right in here, prior relationships are present and referenced. I liked the relationship in this one, but I feel like the ending conflict was taken care of a bit too fast. Also, the writing style is quite choppy, and the editing could have been better- I caught several typos, but given that I am reviewing a week before the release date, there is still time for that to be taken care of. I think this mostly just isn't for me, given the spice-to-plot ratio, but if you're one who enjoys spice-heavy sports romances, this might be your cup of tea.

We are back with the Titans ice hockey team and I certainly got a better feeling for the game having watched matches at the recent winter Olympics. In this book Christina has changed the dynamic which continues to make the series fresh.
Instead of the reverse hareems from the previous two books we have an established married couple where the marriage has become stale after 10 years and a new rookie player looking to find a family to overcome the loneliness of being away from home in an alien environment.
The first sexual and romantic element comes between the rookie and the wife after encouragement from the husband. However after this the dynamic is further altered by the husband becoming bi curious and all three willingly embracing this.
There is a bit of drama along the way which is fine, but I miss some of the gentle humour that was in place in book 1.

The characters were very appealing and likeable and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend!

This is book 3 of the Titans Hockey series and can be read as a standalone. Reading the previous 2 books would have given me a bit more back story on Novy and Lauren but it wasn't needed to understand the story. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, with a more mature couple and a younger rookie who joins them. The tension was good, decent spice with bi-awakening done well. I look forward to reading the other books in the series as well and the upcoming one coming out later this year.

Team Shepikins
I enjoyed this story as much as the previous ones in the series, but I would have liked to have seen more between Alexei and Lauren (physical and emotional intimacy). I enjoyed this story as much as the previous ones in the series, but I would have liked to have seen more between Alexei and Lauren (physical and emotional intimacy). This book really heats up, but the romance starts slow and you got to see them all become friends and build a connection before anything happens between them.

I absolutely loved these three. Watching their relationship grow as things blossomed between them was great. Loved the connection they developed. And that sauce was, oh boy. But overall, I really enjoyed the story as a whole. The depth, the description. The characters feel so real. I love this author. I need more.

Love this trope, all the angles! Strong but not bitchy FMC, equally strong and only partially stupid MMCs, with extremely healthy relationship dynamics. Boring? Never. Hot? Every page. Worth it? Salivating for the next in the series.

Age gap Hockey romance with a twist, a married couple explore adding a young rookie to there marriage. This is so lovely. The relationships centre around Ryan and the build up of these relationships is beautiful. I found it very endearing. A really sweet, touching story. Definitely recommend. Loved it.

I enjoyed this MMF hockey romance. The author wove Ryan into the existing marriage of Alexei and Lauren with respect and love in the forefront of the developing relationship. The emotions that both men showed were touching and showed the depth of their affection.
