SOCIOMOM: My story of Terror, Truth, and Triumph

Rate this book
As a tale of the human spirit to overcome, SOCIOMOM is both a shocking tale of years of horrific child abuse at the hands of a sociopathic mother-and a remarkable triumph of the human spirit. An underdog story that goes behind the scenes in the workings of a sociopathic mother and how their mind works to get what they want at any cost. It is a harrowing tale that is still emotionally and spiritually uplifting. Raw, real, and unfiltered, it is a firsthand account of not only a depraved tale of child abuse-but the courage that can lead a survivor to a life beyond abuse. It is a story that illustrates no matter where you came from or what happened in your life, you can not only overcome but you can thrive. Anyone who has struggled with life or someone in their life will want to read this book.

Hmm, Hard to read, but impossible to put down.
Some chapters made me physically sick, not because of the writing, but because of the subject matter. The abuse Kevin endured is unimaginable, yet he writes with so much clarity. The only reason this isn’t five stars is that I wish there was a bit more about his relationship with his daughter, it’s touched on, but I wanted more. Still a powerful book.

The story of amazing perseverance after living through unthinkable child abuse. The writer skillfully tells the story of his ongoing journey to healing and the horrors along the way. Through years of therapy and experiencing life changing faith (while still dealing with his abuser) he emerges stronger and able to cope with life’s challenges. His work with youth and the trials they face was inspiring. A very worthwhile read.

This is more than a memoir. It’s a survivor’s blueprint. The way he navigates memory, emotion, faith, and fear shows someone who has lived through the unimaginable and still decided to speak up. Deep respect.
