What really happened at Netherfield—and why Mr. Bingley never came back.
When Charles Bingley abruptly departs Hertfordshire after the Netherfield Ball, Jane Bennet is left confused and heartbroken. But the real reason for his disappearance has nothing to do with her.
Bingley is pregnant—with Fitzwilliam Darcy’s child.
In a society that offers no place for men like them, the two closest friends craft a delicate illness, travel, and a charitable guardian for the “orphaned” baby. But as months pass and baby Rosamund grows, what began as protection becomes a quiet, secret domesticity—one filled with midnight feedings, tender glances, and the constant threat of discovery.
When the truth finally comes to light at a grand ball at Pemberley, Darcy must choose between reputation and love—and Bingley must decide if he’s willing to be claimed in front of all of society.
A tender, reimagining of Pride and Prejudice, Pride and Paternity explores what might have been between two gentlemen too loyal, too reserved, and too in love to speak the truth—until a child gives them something worth fighting for.
This gay romance features secret baby, surprise pregnancy, fake engagement, ballroom confession, found family, cute baby hijinks, friends to lovers.

I can honestly say this is the worst Darcy story I have ever read. The author really has excelled in creating a masterpiece of unbelievable rubbish. I'm just thankful I didn't pay for this book!
What a cute, sweet, and fun book! It surprised me how well-written it is. I truly felt like reading a book by Jane Austen. The story was very smart, very subtle, very lovely. I loved it, it was a nice surprise.
There's something about Pride and Prejudice (specifically the film from 2005) that turns me into a yearning sap. When a friend of mine mentioned this book I was intrigued, though it wasn't exactly how I expected it to be. If you're looking for a smutty romance novel, this isn't it; though there is a little smut, it's not the whole story. The author truly took the time to give this book a Pride and Prejudice feel (at least as far as I'm concerned) and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would after reading some of the lower rated reviews. I may even buy myself a physical copy :)
I will say the beginning of the book felt very ambiguous as to who the other father of the baby was, and I didn't get actual confirmation until about the halfway mark. I could have been interpreting it wrong but it didn't feel obvious and wasn't outright stated until later.
One of my favorite things about this book was the "found family" feel by the end.
I loved Pride and Paternity by Bella Bennett. The first part of the book is just like watching the movie Pride and Prejudice, which is a favorite of mine. The characters are introduced and the dialog is familiar, if not exactly the same. Then come the subtle changes that make the Pride and Prejudice retelling into the M/M Mpreg story that it is. It was wonderfully done.
This book really pulled on the heart strings - if is such a beautiful story with a happy ending I wish you could give mod fun 5 stars!!! Thank you - Lori
I did not get far into this book, but there wasn’t much to draw my attention. Beginning was just a recap of pride and prejudice. I didn’t get much far than that.
I’ve never read mpreg before, but this book’s description drew me in. What a darling, heartfelt love story! I listened to the Virtual Voice recording, which was surprisingly well-done (and a big improvement over text-to-speech on my phone, which is how I usually consume ebooks). Mpreg fans will love this story.
