An incredibly well-researched book with tons of details, sometimes too much. It is, however, an incredible resource for anyone who wants to dive deeper into the French psyche and how the most beautiful city in the world managed to escape complete destruction during WW2. Out of the chaos came the France as we know today. 4.5 stars.
