This was a very light read, yet it contained several genuinely profound moments. I appreciated hearing fifty reasons why Jesus is wonderful. I came to the book with fairly high expectations—hoping, perhaps, to encounter Jesus in new ways. Instead, I came away with a unifying and grounding truth: Jesus really is wonderful in these ways—and so much more.

What I loved most was how the book encouraged praise that is specific, detailed, and rooted in Scripture. Too often my prayers (and perhaps even worship music) can feel generic. This book had me saying “thank you, Jesus” again and again. He truly is wonderful.

Allcock explores how Jesus is the Word, the Seed, the Son of Man, the Bridegroom, and more. His reflections remain rooted in Scripture and reveal aspects of Jesus you may not have previously considered or lingered over.

Wonder and Glory

I was especially moved by the chapter on Jesus as the Shepherd. In Ezekiel 34:11–12, God promises that He will come in person and take personal responsibility for shepherding His sheep. This truth deepened my appreciation for the tender care Christ shows us.

More of Jesus will fill your heart with the wonder and glory of the Son of God. It will leave you eager to behold Him more clearly in Scripture and worship.

It may be tempting, especially for those of us who grew up in the church, to think we know all there is to know about Jesus. This 50 chapter devotional book helps people at any stage of faith discover that there is so much more that makes Jesus wonderful than first meets the eye. Jonty walks through 50 attributes and characteristics of Jesus that help you worship and wonder as you read and fall more in love with the Savior.

Good Explanation of who Jesus Is

These short devotions draw on a different aspect of who Jesus is and what he has done and will do. The chapter headings aren't Scriptural, but they do draw from the Scriptures. Good book for mediation and prayer
