My emotions are still running high as I write this review. This book put me on a raw and emotional ride and I loved every second of it. Honestly, I never get emotional over books, like sobbing emotional, but this one? It officially joins the rare few that made me cry. It’s carved into every inch of my heart: the characters, the moments, everything.

*This book follows Isabella, the daughter of Lorenzo and Ana from Lorenzo's Claim. I highly recommend reading that first before diving into this one.*

Isabella Ricci, you’re going to be mine; you just don’t know it yet.

Isabella never wanted anything to do with her father’s shady business, but she’s forced to take the reins when her brother steps down to focus on his son. She’s selfless always putting her family first, wanting them to be happy even when it takes a toll on her. But there’s someone who sees her potential, someone who stands by her and shows her that she can do it. Even if she hates him at first…she sees him.
I loved how she treated her nephew. Her bond with Red and the guys was adorable they were all so protective of her, especially Tyler. He was hilarious and really lightened the mood.

Then there's Arturo. When Isa bumps into him at a club one night, he notices her fiery personality even if it's just for a few minutes. And from that moment, he wants her. Then he finds out how off-limits she is. He’s her new bodyguard and trainer, and he’s here to push her limits and make her stronger. But he can’t get her out of his head. He wants her and he will have her.
I wasn’t ready for him. At all. His sweet gestures mixed with his filthy words were the perfect combination. Tattoos all over his body, and he calls her princess, love, and darlin’ I think I’m in heaven.

“I fuckin’ need you, hermosa, Most need oxygen to survive… I just need you. Be my oxygen, Bella, be my lifeline, be the one who keeps me alive.”

I was so here for their relationship development. They fought through every hardship that came crashing at them. And the plot twists? My jaw was on the floor - seriously.

me after reading this masterpiece:

Audiobook Review: The dual narration was done really well. I did enjoy the female narrator more than the male but I think it was the accent that kept throwing me off a bit… I ended up slowing down my speed and enjoyed his parts a little more but then I had to speed her up lol so it was a hassle…

As far as the story I really enjoyed the banter between our main characters! Their chemistry was instant!!! I don’t think it was so much a enemies to lovers as much as reluctant partners to lovers lol

I did feel like the plot got bogged down by the spice and that was disappointing to me because I was really enjoying the plot!

I definitely think this is the perfect fit for someone craving a spankin good time!! <— see what I did there? 😜😂

Arturos Temptation was a gripping dark mafia romance with strong chemistry, plenty of tension, and a great bodyguard trope. The connection between Isabella and Arturo was intense from the start, and I loved the constant push-and-pull between duty and desire. Arturo was the perfect protective, possessive, morally grey hero, while Isabella was a strong heroine who held her own in such a dangerous world.
The family drama, betrayal, and constant sense of danger kept the story interesting, and the emotional moments added depth to the romance. Some parts felt a little longer than necessary, which kept it from being a 5-star read, but overall it was spicy, emotional, and really entertaining...

Arturo's Temptation by Samantha Jayne
Narrated in duet by Alexis Paige and James Joseph

⭐⭐⭐⭐
🌶️🌶️🌶️

He's an assassin, she's a Mafia princess. He's been hired to train her to take over the business. What could go wrong?

What could go wrong in a Mafia, forbidden romance? Arturo thought he was getting out of the game after his last kill, but he didn't expect to be hired by a mafioso to train his heir, Isabella Ricci. But something inside him couldn't say no.
Isabella didn't want to take over the family business, but when her twin brother stepped down to take care of his son, she stepped right up. She's determined to hate the man whom her father hired to train her and protect her, but instead she fell for him.

These two definitely have their challenges, but they had a pretty undeniable connection! I really loved the connection and how Isabella really helped Arturo open up again and enjoy life. But this story has some really surprising moments, plot twists, and a mystery that will keep you guessing!

Alexis Paige was amazing as Isabella. She truly brought out this strong and independent character with her narration. James Joseph was brilliant. I couldn't keep track of how many accents he narrated in this book, but there were a lot and he killed every single one!

🖤🔥 A mafia princess, her dangerously broken protector, and a romance built on blood, obsession, and impossible choices. 🔥🖤

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Spice-meter: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️☆ (4/5)
Audiobook: 🎧 Duet
Series: Oaths and Betrayal, Book 2 (interconnected standalone)
HEA: Yes

Arturo’s Temptation took everything I enjoyed about Lorenzo’s Claim and elevated it. Bigger emotions, stronger character development, higher stakes, and a romance that feels darker, deeper, and far more emotionally consuming. Samantha Jayne officially has me hooked because she absolutely did it again.

While this can technically be approached as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Lorenzo’s Claim first. This story follows Isabella (Lorenzo and Ana’s daughter) and having that emotional foundation makes this book hit even harder.

And trust me… it hits hard.

The Story

Isabella never wanted the responsibility of leading her family’s dangerous empire, but when that responsibility is suddenly placed in her hands, refusing isn’t an option.

Then things get significantly more complicated. Enter Arturo: her newly assigned protector. And by “protector,” I mean a heavily tattooed, emotionally damaged, morally questionable man who looks at her like he wants to ruin her life and worship her in the same breath.

Arturo is deeply broken, fiercely protective, and absolutely refuses to believe he deserves happiness. He starts this story wrapped in walls, guilt, and violence, but watching Isabella slowly tear those walls down piece by piece was one of my favorite parts of this book.

Their chemistry is immediate, but the emotional build makes it even stronger. The tension simmers exactly the way it should before the story explodes into action, twists, and emotional devastation.

And Samantha Jayne’s pacing? Excellent once again. She knows exactly when to slow things down for emotional intimacy and exactly when to throw absolute chaos at you.

There’s also a larger plot thread quietly building in the background that starts connecting bigger pieces of this world and that ending? Far more ominous than book one.

What I Loved

✔️ Isabella’s growth into her power
✔️ A dark, tattooed bodyguard MMC with serious issues (complimentary)
✔️ Forbidden romance done incredibly well
✔️ Emotional moments that genuinely hurt
✔️ Strong pacing with consistent tension
✔️ Twists that keep escalating the story
✔️ A beautiful ending that somehow repaired my emotional damage

🎧 Narration

Performed in duet by Alexis Paige and James Joseph and this audiobook was ridiculously immersive.

Alexis brings so much vulnerability, strength, and emotional depth to Isabella that you can’t help rooting for her.

And James Joseph? He perfectly captures Arturo’s dark, brooding energy, but it was his accent and the Spanish throughout the narration that absolutely ended me.

Together, they make this story feel incredibly cinematic and impossible to pause.

Tropes & Vibes

✔️ Mafia Romance
✔️ Bodyguard Romance
✔️ Forbidden Love
✔️ Touch Her and Die
✔️ Alpha MMC
✔️ Strong FMC
✔️ Emotional Trauma
✔️ Family Legacy
✔️ Possessive Hero
✔️ High-Stakes Suspense

Final Thoughts

Arturo’s Temptation is dark, emotional, addictive, and wildly entertaining. It balances brutal mafia stakes with genuine emotional vulnerability and delivers a romance that feels both explosive and deeply earned.

Arturo is morally questionable, emotionally repressed, and obsessively devoted basically a walking HR violation, but an excellent fictional man.

And Isabella’s journey into her own strength makes this story even better.

This series keeps getting stronger, and after that ending? I’m equal parts excited and deeply concerned for everyone involved. Which is apparently exactly how Samantha Jayne likes to leave us.

Arturo's Temptation sees Arturo, notorious for his background in eliminating people, hired by Lorenzo Ricci to train and protect his daughter after she is suddenly piloted into the position of his heir when her brother drops out. At first sight, Isabella hates Arturo, and is determined to fight him at every turn, but the spark is ignited before either of them realise it. Once they do, it's fireworks. But enemies abound - and Lorenzo swore he'd destroy Arturo if he ever got involved with Isabella. Will they get their happy ending?

This novel, much like it's predecessor (Lorenzo's Claim), will put you on the emotional rollercoaster that has more loops than you have had hot dinners. Arturo, despite his Spanish heritage, is SO British. As a British reader, so many things resonated with me (Arsenal shirts, Coronation Street, certain swears) and I loved that he stood out so much from his American co-cast - especially with things like Mum vs Mom and Arse vs Ass. He never lost that British essence. He is deliciously dark to begin with, but Isabella breaks down those walls brick by brick, whether she means to at the start or not. I wondered how his character would fit in with Lorenzo's well established crew, but he stampedes in, even going as far as to tell Lorenzo some home truths that some of those crew would have struggled with - but it earns him a lot of respect. His care for Isabella is not unnoticed by most (just her Papa!), and that only endears him to them more.

Initially, the sympathy you feel for Isabella is massive. The loss of her best friend, who also happened to be her twin's big love and mother of his child, has left Luca unable to go through with taking over from Lorenzo, and she is left with no choice - she WILL. And she really doesn't want it. Arturo has been hired to bring her up to speed with all aspects of the physical side of the business, and she immediately resents that. She acts out, deliberately driving him crazy, and goes on a date with an awful creep to spite him. Then he shows her how much he cares, over and over again, in little gestures and bigger ones. For the first time in her life, she feels seen and understood, and it boosts her confidence in all ways - personally and for the business. She grows into a total badass, instead of showing just hints of sass. It's an incredible change, brought about by someone finally showing their faith in her directly - Lorenzo has utterly dropped the ball in that department. By the end of this book, you know that Isabella is finally the woman she was destined to be.

Samantha Jayne's pacing in Lorenzo's Claim was excellent, simmering tension before action peak coming time and time again and she executes that again perfectly in this one, with the addition of a plot thread bubbling along in the background, linking more together than you expect. The ending of this novel is far more ominous than LC, and I am very much concerned for the fate of these characters with the next book in the trilogy. If it follows the same format of LC, then eek!

As another mafia romance, there is of course a lot of gore in this, and some serious heartache and heartbreak. Please do check the trigger warnings, as for some women in particular I can imagine this would be a difficult read - no spoilers here, but please do check them.

Arturo's Temptation is another big tick in the mafia romance book genre for me. It was a joy to revisit the Ricci clan for sure (Anastacia Ricci will forever be an absolute QUEEN!), but with different characters as the main focus it freshened everything up. It's dark, it's sexy, it's exciting. What more can you want from that genre? I'm very much looking forward to book three!

This is my first book by Samantha Jayne and definitely not my last! 😍

I went completely blind into this book since I did not read book 1 in this series which is about the love story of the FMC's parents. This book can easily be read as a standalone though.

First of all, I did immersive reading with both the audiobook and the ebook. This book is pretty long since it was 18h as an audiobook but the pacing is really good and the book moves along really nicely with the action.

🎧 The audiobook is performed in duet narration by Alexis Paige and James Joseph. I really enjoyed the female narrator but had a bit of a harder time with the male narrator because of the accent he had to do for the male character. I usually enjoy the work of James Joseph so I think I was just not a fan of this particular accent for some reason (I played around with the speed to help) although I enjoyed when he spoke Spanish. They did do a really good job portraying the characters and showing the emotions they were going through.

This book really keeps you hooked with all the action going on but also the chemistry and banter between the main characters. I really love how the MMC always showed the FMC how much he believes in her and defended her always. He really saw her and was there for her no matter what she needed. He was so unhinged and not afraid to even talk back to her dad which I love.

Together they were perfect for each other because even though our FMC was a bad@ss mafia queen, she needed someone like him by her side to help her deal with the emotional challenges of becoming the big boss and take her dad's place. She had to go through so much loss and emotional challenges and her family did not see all her struggles but HE did and HE was there for her which I love. It was written so perfectly and performed well in the audiobook so you could feel all those emotions she had to go through.

The spice in this book was definitely hot hot hot!! The FMC and MMC were so good together and the forbidden aspect was keeping me on my toes on whether they would get caught or not since they were living in the same house as her family haha

I'm curious to see what happens next with this series since our couple gets their HEA but there is sort of a cliffhanger in what happens with the "mafia action plot". Since the first book is about the parents of the FMC then I think the next book in the series will be about a different couple than the main characters in this book. 👀

There was definitely some gore since it is a dark mafia romance plus some stuff that happens to the FMC so check the trigger warnings.

Isabella never wanted the life she was handed but when her brother steps down to put his son first, she does what she’s always done: sacrifices herself for her family. Thrust into a world she never asked for, Isa carries the weight of leadership with quiet strength, even when it costs her everything. She’s selfless, loyal, and so easy to root for.

What really stole my heart was her relationship with her nephew and the men around her. Her bond with Red and the guys was genuinely adorable protective, warm, and filled with moments that made me smile. And Tyler? Absolutely hilarious. He brought such a needed lightness to the story and balanced the darker moments perfectly.

And then there’s Arturo.

One accidental run-in at a club is all it takes for him to notice her fire and from that moment on, he’s gone. Completely. Then comes the twist: she’s off-limits. Very off-limits. He’s assigned as her bodyguard and trainer, meant to make her stronger, tougher, ready for the world she’s stepping into… while trying (and failing) to get her out of his head.

I was not ready for this man.

Arturo is the perfect contradiction sweet gestures paired with filthy words, quiet devotion mixed with undeniable dominance. Tattooed, lethal, and utterly obsessed, calling her princess, love, and darlin’ like it’s second nature. I was done for. Absolutely feral. Forbidden romance is my weakness, and when Lorenzo makes it very clear that Arturo is not allowed to touch his daughter? Yeah. That just made it better.

The enemies-to-lovers tension? Immaculate.
The forbidden aspect? Chef’s kiss.
The emotions? Heavy—in the best way.

I devoured this book in a single day and honestly have no proper words other than I loved everything about it. Isabella and Arturo own my heart. This story is emotional, intense, and addictive, with a badass tattooed bodyguard MMC and a heroine who grows into her power beautifully.

If you love mafia romance, forbidden tension, and a man who would burn the world down for his woman this one is a must-read. 💔🔥

This Forbidden Romance Between Mafia Princess & Her Body Guard/Trainer is one EXCITING, EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER that I could NOT stop listening too!! (ALC Review)

📕 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🎧 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You would think that some of these tropes are over done and they’re all the same…BUT TRUST ME!!!! It hasn’t been done quite like this! This was my first Samantha Jane book, and even though it is Book 2, this interconnected standalone was excellent! If you want characters with emotional depth & personal growth, familial dynamics that will have your heart warming AND breaking, and pacing that keeps you invested and in your toes, this is the book for you.

The MMC Arturo is the definition of a tortured soul. A retired assassin turned trainer and bodyguard to a Mafia Princess that he can’t have and thinks he doesn’t deserve, Arturo is obsessive, devoted, dominant, and underneath all those heavy, dark layers, romantic, sweet, and brings out Isabella’s absolute best.

Isabella has been through hell & back with great loss & now taking over the family business has been forced upon her. She’s strong, feisty, guarded but she’s loyal and loves hard.

These two together were top notch!! Their banter, love/hate dynamic, and chemistry was felt through the whole story and the narrators really brought it to life. The DUET performances of Alexis Paige & James Joseph were ADDICTIVE & IMMERSIVE.

James Joseph breathed so much life into the brooding British Assassin who SPEAKS SPANISH!!! That was literally my undoing (lol) I felt his struggles within. I felt his pain. His guilt. His unyielding faith and love for Isabella shown through.

Alexis Paige brought so much emotion and vulnerability to Isabella. And you could hear her journey into the strong, Mafia boss that she will be.

And the SPICY SCENES!!!! I felt like I was in the room hiding so I didn’t get caught watching lol

All in all, I enjoyed every bit of this story and can’t wait for more!

I thought I'd seen it all with Lorenzo Ricci, but no, nothing could have prepared me for Arturo Ramos, absolutely nothing. Samantha can expect to receive my therapy bill for the emotional wreckage she forced me to go through 😭💔 I still don't know if I can forgive her for that.

I couldn't help but notice similarities between Lorenzo and Arturo, but Arturo was even more unhinged. The guy feared no one and pretty much told everyone to eff off 🤣 However, what I loved most about him was the amount of support he showed to Bella ❤ He was brutally honest, and he didn't shy away from voicing his thoughts out, even when they weren't welcome lol. Arturo was hired to train Bella to take over her father's legacy, but he ended up helping her grieve and rebuild herself up 😍

Isabella was a true survivor and badass boss lady 🔥 She was even stronger and resilient than both her parents combined. The loss she experienced would have distraught anyone else, but not her. No, Bella showered her nephew and brother with love after her best friend's passing; she put her life on hold for their happiness, time and time again, without asking for compensation. The patience and selflessness that woman showed for her family was nearly blinding, and it pulverized my heart to dust to know she was not even allowed a moment to sort out her emotions 💔

“Be h-ha-happy, B-Bells.” This quote GUTTED me and WRIPPED MY HEART OUT!! I genuinely couldn't stop crying when I first read it 😭 As much as I loved how the story, as well as Arturo and Bella's relationship progressed, this book left me emotionally scarred 💔 So if you can handle your heart getting wringed out like laundry before getting that HEA, then I highly recommend it 👌🏻 I wish I had a better way of describing how GOOD it was, but I'm afraid it's left me out of words 😭

Arturo’s Temptation by Samantha Jayne is a masterful continuation of the powerful saga that began with Lorenzo’s Claim. This novel takes readers on an intense journey filled with heightened emotions, compelling character development, and intense romance. While the book stands alone, having the background from Lorenzo’s Claim enriches the experience, adding depth to the story of Isabella, the daughter of Lorenzo and Ana. Isabella is thrust into the perilous realm of her family’s empire, where refusal is not an option, especially with Arturo as her enigmatic protector. Arturo is a complex, tattooed figure, whose emotional scars and dark past create an electrifying dynamic with Isabella. Their chemistry is palpable, with a tension that builds to a thrilling climax of action and emotional turmoil. This novel expertly fuses high stakes mafia drama with sincere emotional exploration, delivering a romance that is both intense and genuinely rewarding. Arturo’s enigmatic nature and Isabella’s journey to empowerment make this a standout read, leaving readers eagerly anticipating what comes next in this captivating series.
The audiobook’s duet performance by Alexis Paige and James Joseph truly elevates the storytelling to an immersive art form. Alexis imbues Isabella with a compelling blend of vulnerability, strength, and emotional depth, effortlessly drawing listeners into her journey and ensuring they root for her every step of the way. Meanwhile, James Joseph’s portrayal of Arturo is nothing short of masterful, capturing the character’s dark, brooding, and protective essence with precision. His authentic accent and fluent Spanish enhance the narrative, adding layers of authenticity and richness to the experience. Together, their performances transform the story into a cinematic masterpiece that captivates from start to finish, making it nearly impossible to pause.

🖤🎧 Book & Narrator Review 🎧🖤

I’m no princess. He’s no protector… and this audiobook DELIVERS that energy from start to finish.

This story is dark, gritty, and completely addictive. Isabella being forced into a legacy she never wanted? You feel that weight in every chapter. Her journey from uncertain and overwhelmed to someone learning how to survive—and dominate—in her world was so powerful to experience.

And Arturo…
He’s not morally gray. He’s morally pitch black.

Cold. Ruthless. Unforgiving.
But underneath all that, Pain, damage, and just enough vulnerability to keep you hooked.

The dynamic between them is intense, toxic, and completely consuming—and the audiobook takes it to another level.

🎧 Narration

Alexis Paige absolutely nailed Isabella.
You can hear the shift in her character—from fear and hesitation to strength and fire. Her emotional delivery pulls you right into Isabella’s internal battle, making every moment hit harder.

James Joseph as Arturo
PERFECTION.

His voice has that deep, dangerous edge that is Arturo. He brings out the menace, the control, the obsession… but also those quieter, broken moments that make you feel way more than you expected. Every line felt intentional, and honestly? He made Arturo even more addictive.

Together, they create insane chemistry 🔥
The tension, the push and pull, the power dynamics—it all feels so real and so intense in audio form.

🔥 Overall Vibes

✔️ Dark romance
✔️ Obsessive, dangerous MMC
✔️ Strong FMC growth
✔️ Toxic, addictive chemistry
✔️ High tension + spice 🌶️

⭐️ Rating

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (5/5)
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Spicy)

🖤 Final Thoughts

This isn’t a soft love story.
It’s raw, messy, and a little bit destructive—in the best way.

And with Alexis Paige and James Joseph bringing these characters to life
It hits even harder.

ALC Review
I loved this audiobook and this series!! From the very first chapter, the performances pull you straight into Isabella and Arturo’s world. Isabella never wanted the life she was born into, but when her father’s dangerous legacy is suddenly placed on her shoulders, she has no choice but to step up. Enter Arturo, HE’S hired to train her to fight, to kill… to survive. Except he’s not a protector. He’s dark, ruthless. His world is blood and scars, but Isabella shakes something in him he thought was long gone. She’s forbidden, complicated and he wants her anyway. The tension between them is EVERYTHING. That constant push-pull, the danger, the emotions is so addictive.
The story is already intense and emotional, but Alexis & James made it feel less like listening to a book and more like being pulled straight into Arturo and Isabella’s world. Everything flowed so naturally, immersive, and super easy to get lost in.
You can feel the tension, the chemistry, the vulnerability And the emotional scenes hit hard. You can feel the tension in those quieter moments, the bite in the banter, and the vulnerability when the characters start letting their guards down. Alexis nailed Isabella's badass mafia princess nature, she's fearless and yet insecure and it shines through, she's so conflicted by her feelings Arturo and her responsibility to her family. James' performance as Arturo was everything, he exudes the gruff intensity but also his softer moments that he seems to only have for Isabella (and her nephew Theo) Having listened to Lorenzo's story earlier this year, getting to see how Lorenzo & Anastacia's family grew and how in love they still are was EVERYTHING!
I can’t wait to see what’s in store with this series next

Thank you, BNA, for the ALC that comes out 4/29. This is book two of the Oaths & Betrayal series. This is the next generation following after our mafia king, Lorenzo & Anastacia's story from book 1. It focuses on their daughter, Isabella, who will be taking Lorenzo's place one day. But she just found out and she wasn't prepared. So, Lorenzo does what every mafia king does. He hires his daughter a bodyguard. But not just any bodyguard and trainer - He's mysterious, broody and calls her on her b$. Oh, and hot. Clearly. Arturo also has a very dark past and a lot of blood on his hands. And he will not only keep her safe, but he will make sure everyone knows that she is off limits, in more ways than one...

But of course, Lorenzo said they had to keep things professional. ha....

This is a great mafia read! It was a fantastic mafia heiress x bodyguard romance. Just like LC, this has a lot of moving parts moving behind the love story. There is a lot of action/suspense from start to finish. Between our lovers, there are secrets, tension and banter. But the story shares emotional moments with internal battles and self-esteem issues, family drama/grief and oof, I even shed tears with this one!

Side note - the Corrie/Soap reference had me cackling. That show has had a permanent place in my household. <3

This was a rollercoaster of a read and despite the book being over 60 chapters, the story moved with a great pace and lots happening that kept you invested throughout the book. There are a lot of twists and things that I didn't see coming.
Things get dark. Check triggering warnings.

James Joseph is a new listen for me. I have a few of his audiobooks saved on Audible, and after this listen, I would be happy to listen to more. The only thing I need to say is that James vs Sean Masters speaking as Lorenzo was hard to listen to. The voices were just too different so that was a little off for me. But as our MMC Arturo, Tyler, Luca and every other male character - perfect. He really separates his characters and it was easy to follow along. Those accents and different languages!! Wow.

Alexis Paige was not a new listen for me. I was first introduced to her with the CR Jane Pucking series and then in Lorenzo's Claim. The characters in CR's Pucking series all had stromg FMCs with power and attitude, but also have a soft side. So that fits well for both Ana and of course, our FMC Isabella.

Arturo’s Temptation was such an enjoyable mafia romance. From the start, the chemistry between these two was next level, and that made it so easy to get pulled into the story.

I really loved the setup here. You have the daughter of a mafia don being forced to step into her father’s very big shoes, and then her father brings in a man to be her right hand. That alone was enough to get me interested, but what made it even better was how badly she wanted him out of the picture at first. The enemies to lovers tension in this was so good because both of them came into the story carrying a lot.

Arturo is exceptionally morally gray and has some serious baggage, which made him such an interesting MMC to follow. Isabella also has so much working against her. She has this huge chip on her shoulder, she is trying to prove herself in a world that is not eager to hand her respect, and she has a lot to overcome just by being a woman stepping into that role. That gave the story so much more bite because you could understand why both of them were fighting what was happening between them.

What I really loved was when things finally started to turn for them. Once the tension started shifting into something deeper, I was fully in. This was such a fantastic read and such a fun mafia romance to sink into.

Tropes: mafia romance, enemies to lovers, morally gray MMC, strong FMC, forced proximity, family loyalty, tension filled romance, daughter of a mafia don, bodyguard romance

His Princess and her London Boy 🖤🖤

Hey everyone, welcome back to another book review! This is a perfect case of when book one is good, but book 2 is so much better! I absolutely loved book one which follows Lorenzo and Anastasia, the parents of Isabella, our main female main character in this book! But our author just did such more phenomenal job building on the story for Isabella and Arturo! I love the bodyguard/mafia princess trope, and the forbidden romance aspect of the mafia romance! And our author, Samantha Jayne just had the perfect amount of tension in their first 30 chapters! I would consider this more of a haters to lovers than an enemies to lovers because Isabella absolutely hates Arturo throughout the bringing of the story, but Arturo is not a member of any other mafia family. He’s just a hired hitman, who gets hired on by her father Lorenzo to train her to take over his mafia empire, whenever he steps down! But the banter that we loved between Lorenzo and Anastasia in their book is right back in between Isabella and Arturo, but so much freaking better! And the spice written throughout this mafia romance is so phenomenal. It’s the perfect amount of plot meet spice, I felt like.

Arturo and Isabella’s chemistry is no joke 🔥 — the push and pull between a man sworn to protect her and the undeniable pull between them made every scene crackle. That tension of he shouldn’t want her but he absolutely does hits different in the mafia world, and this book leaned into it beautifully. The forbidden element just adds that extra layer of chef’s kiss intensity. 😮‍💨

James Joseph and Alexis Paige were perfect 🤩 James gave Arturo that brooding, dangerous energy that mafia heroes absolutely require — but it was his accent combined with the Spanish he speaks throughout that sent me completely over the edge. 🔥😩 Every time he switched into Spanish I had to pause and collect myself because WOW. That man’s voice is a whole experience. Alexis brought so much heart to Isabella that you’re rooting for her every step of the way, and together they created this immersive world that made the audiobook format feel like the only way to experience this story.

This is a solid listen for any mafia romance girlie. 🎧🖤

I absolutely love this author and she has done it again!

I absolutely love this author and she has done it again!
This is mafia romance DONE RIGHT. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts, and I loved both the MMC and FMC equally. The possessiveness was perfect, and the tension kept me hooked the entire time.
There were so many twists and turns that kept me guessing, and the spice definitely delivered 👀🔥
I also loved seeing familiar characters from previous books make an appearance—it made the whole world feel even more connected, and I may have even teared up a little!
Another incredible read, and I cannot wait for the next one!

THIS BOOK IS ON MY MIND 24/7!!!

HOT bodyguard alert! The spice in this book had me sweating Arturo and Isabella are something else.

Arturo is hired by Isabella’s father to become her trainer/bodyguard. She absolutely hates his guts the moment she meets him…pushing all his buttons. The tension soon builds between them and can they manage to resist each other?

This book is hot , spicy, and everything I need in a book. The possessive MMC always does it for me.

I NEED MORE PLEASE!!!!

Arturo’s Temptation by Samantha Jayne, done in duet narration with Alexis Page and James Joseph, was done really well.

I loved how these narrators brought the characters to life. James Joseph’s range in this one was the most I’ve ever heard from him, and there were moments where I was genuinely like, wait… is this the same person? He really showed a lot of versatility in this performance.

Alexis Page was phenomenal as well. She handled all the female characters with so much emotion and depth, and she made every moment feel believable.

I also really enjoyed the character growth, along with the twists and turns and moments you don’t see coming. It kept the story engaging the whole way through.

Overall, this was a great listen, and I’m very much looking forward to the next book.

Isabella was never supposed to be in charge . Her brother leaves her no choice in the matter . Arturo is tasked with protecting and training her to take over . She fights him at every single turn but the time she drops the pretense , chemistry explodes and they are no longer able to hide what they feel for each other

This book is so emotional! Arturo is a badass tattooed MMC who was bodyguard to Isabella!
She never wanted to become a leader in Mafia but after her brother step down cause of his personal reason, she had no choice. Man the way Enemies to lovers kinda was is amazing! And not only that….FORBIDDEN ROMANCE IS MY FAVE! Cause Lerenzo made it clear to Arturo that no touchy touchy on his daughter!

Man their tension, smut, dates and everything is worth it! 💞😏❤️‍🔥

I love where scenes can be so emotional, it made me cry just a little bit! 💙

Lemme talk about that date, pizza, snacks, movies and more it does not have to be fancy, I would also prefer stay home, eat pizza, being so comfy on couch with my loved ones. 💞

Okay so THAT smut in a specific place…..was SPICING & yet FORBIDDEN! I loved it and jaw dropped! I was literally also SCARED for them iykyk! ❤️‍🔥🌸

That book was not only dark but also very emotional cause of Arturo & Isabella’s past, his parents and how Isabella how to dealt with her emotion alone. And also their voices in head is both beautiful and also disturbing. 😳🩷

I also like how family friendly that book is, more than Lerenzo’s Claim (Book One). Side characters is amazing, especially Tyler !!💙💙 He was the best development side character I have read! I can never stop to love him. 💞

This book therefore deserves 5 stars with blue heart & spice is 4 chills

Samantha, you never disappoint me, I’m so proud of I have read all your books, now I have to wait for your new book! I can’t wait to read it! Love you 🥰

So good!

If you hadn’t tried Samantha Jayne give her a try. I have really enjoyed her books! The reason I tried her is because I can meet her in May and wanted to be able to know some of the authors there.

This is the second book of the series and features Lorenzo and Ana's daughter. I loved the first 3/4 of the book. Isabella was strong willed and fought Arturo and stood up for herself. She was thrust into a position she never wanted and had to step up. There was a lot of growth in Isabella and Arturo and even Lorenzo. Arturo was a very likable character who sometimes made me want to punch him. The chemistry between Isabella and Arturo was on point. The last few chapters made me a little mad though. I felt like Isabella was stronger and I felt like she should have done more damage but I don't want to give away any spoilers. Overall, 4 - 4.5 stars for me.

The narration was great. Both James and Alexis did a great job bringing Isabella and Arturo to life. 5 stars for the narration.

They spend the whole book training the heroine then when it counts, the hero says, “stay back” and plays the savior. 😒🙄

Review is specifically for the audiobook. 4⭐️ loved the female narrator but the male narrator was okay. I’ve listed to his narration before but this just didn’t hit it for me.

4⭐️ narrating
Unfortunately I had to dnf this at
chapter 33

Hit man turned body guard falls for
Mafia princess Isabella who unexpectedly has been thrown in to take over her father's empire, the world these live in you'd expect danger, action and drama there was a tiny bit up to were i stopped there was Pining stolen moments a touch or speak to her like that and he would flip out, The Three bar scenes were the highlight of this for me.

Alexis Paige & James Joseph ther narrating was impeccable and only reason I got as far as I did.
